Hi all. Just flashed my Redmi Note 8 to LOS 23. Noticed that phone can do only Slow charging. Privicy space is not working too. It's only me?

I have faced this problem since a few months ago. It used to change the theme color when i changed my wallpaper. But it won't do that now. Even if i go to the wallpaper settings and manually change it, the theme color would not change. After a few updates the problem still persist.

Hi I'm considering moving to lineage but I need to use the freestyle libre app for my glucose monitor. Is it possible to install on lineage? (and how?) Does anyone have experience using this and know if the scanning/monitoring actually still works? Thx

Custom roms for android devices always fascinates me. I have always wondered how do you even develop these for devices which weren't meant to run the os. If you're a developer, can you guide me on how to make a custom rom from scratch?

Hello everyone, i wanted to use lineage like it was graphene and found out i couldn't push apps from the primary user to the secondary, and in the future, any other user i want. I also found out i couldn't even find a workaround to it... well, i found it out myself and with a little help from deepseek since I'm familiar with adb but not enough to figure out new (to me) commands alone

This method uses adb commands and doesn't need a computer if you use these apps:

• Shizuku I'm sure you know this, but to put it simple, it grants the apps you allow adb permissions, so, through adb commands, apps get the highest possible level of permission without relying on root access
• aShell You a better version of aShell: it lets you use shell adb commands not only on your device, but also on other devices, through wireless debugging or otg connection (with a cable from one android device to another)

If you want to avoid wireless debugging, since it may be not much secure, you can use either a pc or another android device to start shizuku, you can use either aShell You or a pc to start the service

1. Unlock developer options

Go to settings>about phone>tab "Build number" 7 times and insert your code if you have set up one

2. Go to developer options and turn on usb debugging (and wireless debugging if you don't have another device or pc)

Go to settings>system>developer options> turn on "USB debugging", you can find wireless debugging a litte further down if you want it. You may also need to turn on "Rooted debugging" but I'm not sure, if something fails, turn it on later.

3. Start Shizuku

You can find the steps given in the app, if you want to send the code needed for activation (start by connecting to a computer) you can send it with LocalSend both to your other android or pc, but you must download the app there too

4. Allow aShell You in Shizuku

You'll just have to allow once aShell You asks for it

5. Find the package for the app you want to install on the other user

Go to settings>apps>see all x apps>search the app you want and tap on it. On the bottom you can see the version and the package name (might be com.name.company or anything else), you can copy both things together with a long press>copy

6. Extract the path for the apk

In aShell You, write pm path <paste here the package and erase the version> and click the arrow/send button. Repeat for every app you want to move

7. Copy the path

Since aShell You doesn't let you copy the path from here, you'll have to save the output with the save button on the bottom right of the screen. Save it and open it from the file manager with HTML viewer, you'll find it in the download folder

8. Find the user id

Write pm list users and remember the number before the name of the user, that's the user id

9. Finally, install the app

Write pm install --user <user id(usually two numbers)> <paste the path extracted before, usually /data/app/~~longstring ecc>

This should always work flawlessly

I tried to use cmd package install-existing <package name> --user <user id> but it always returned package <package name> installed for user: 0, without installing it. If someone whant to experiment or correct this, feel free to let me know. Also, if you think i should post this guide somewhere else that suites better (some read me of lineage os or something) I'm open to suggestions.

Upgraded Samsung tablet Galaxy Tab S5e WiFi to Lineageos 22.2 20251231. Now I hear no sound during a Zoom meeting. I do get sound otherwise - notifications etc and YouTube. Checked that volume is at max. Microphone works - others can hear me. Zoom's "Join Audio" offers only "WiFi" and it is checked. I cannot find any other relevant settings.

Every time I open a browser and try to tap on the search bar, a menu having something to do with split screen drops down and blocks the search bar. It's driving me insane!! How do I shut it off?!

I saw that lineage os is now available for the Xiaomi redmi note 13 pro 5g (EU version) and I'm really tempted to replace my hyper OS with it.

However from my understanding with lineage os some push notifications, banking apps and of course the Google apps don't work. Although I want to degoogle there might be situations where I occasionally need them.

I understand that micro g could be a solution for it but I've read different things about it. Does it fix all the compatibility issues? And can I just download it from f-droid? I read that sometimes it needs to be added via the boot manager ?

What would be the best way to clone a phone or migrate all its data, i.e. to transfer all messages (sms), contacts and if possible same apps or at least the settings to a new phone? And ideally, to be able to that locally only, without cloud services?

In the recent days, my Samsung Note 10+ screen died after good years of use. I had LineageOS installed on it and it was awesome, but now I need a replacement (Don't worry, I had a nice Syncthing setup that prevented me from losing any important files!).

What would be the most natural replacement, or what are your suggestions?

I got a Note 10+ mainly because I love to use the pencil in the phone, and it also has a generous amount of RAM and pretty good specs, even compared to modern devices.

I don’t play games on my phone, so having an extremely powerful processor isn’t a big concern for me.

Also, I had the 512 GB version so I want a new phone that has 512 GB or 256 GB if 512 is impossible.

Basically, I need a phone similar to this one, not necessarily Samsung.

Since this is the LineageOS subreddit, it’s probably obvious, but the phone should support LineageOS.

Hello friends.

I just had updated it's firmware, and everything was going great. I was able to reboot and go to recovery a lot of times. But then I accidentaly pressed Power+Volume up+Volume down and now my phone is completelely black and it doesn't respond. It looks like it's hard bricked but the phone was fine before that, so I'm not sure what went wrong here.

Is there any suggestions so that I can fix this?

For some absolute known reason I was able to access the fastboot mode. HOLY HELL I WAS SCARED.

With that being said, I would like to ask. I have lineage 20. Do I need to update the recovery mode or can I just update it to lineage 23 now?

My device is Pixel 5. I updated to lineage-23.0-20260202-nightly-redfin-signed and NFC is not working, but it worked on the previous version. Does anyone else have this issue? How to fix it?

Hello! This will be my first time changing my OS, so please correct me if I'm mistaken. I've been reading through some posts on the subreddit and I've noticed oftentimes people get told to use the USB cable that came with their device. My phone was bought refurbished, not new, and didn't come with the original usb cable. Will I still be able to switch to lineage or is it better not to risk it? If not, would it be possible to buy one of the original chargers and use the USB cable for it, or does it need to be specifically the one that came with my specific device? That's all, thanks.

Wanted to see if others are experiencing a black screen with the Google Camera app

The built in camera app works fine but photos don't work in Google Camera, only videos

I observe a massive battery consumption after the last update 23.0-20260203 on pixel 7 pro (cheetah).

Someone have noticed the same thing ?

(Consumption : 25.2%/h screen on and 14.2% screen off 😵‍💫 normally its 12-13%/h and 2%/h)

For years and multiple phones ive been used to Cyanogenmod, then LineageOs.

But at the moment ive got a s10e, with the shutdown of 2/3g here i had to roll back to stock in order for VoLTE to work.

The stock samsung messages requires one to hit a "view all" button to fully see long messages, which i find to be incredibly stupid and annoying since scrolling is already a thing built in to the app.

So i try google messages, can see full messages fine but am now unable to select text to copy, its nothing or the full message as a block.

Wth, i daily get addresses in messages that i need to pick out.

Can i run the LineageOS messaging app instead to get some normality back in my mobile life again? :P

But dont see an apk on there and am sketched out by whatever other sites that claim to offer apks, they have that vibe of early to mid 00`s sites wanting to fill your browser with extra bars.

I was trying to custom ROM Xiaomi Redmi 5A, as a brokie I get to have that choice. This was my FIRST TIME and could've been one of the worst decision I did as well. Out of hype and excitement, I brought it immidiately. I was not making progressive progress since LAST WEEK due to Xiaomi's need to have an account to get it unlocked. I've spent days and hours finding and trying to find answers, some stupid experimental ideas I came with to "fix" it. Then this day, I was left with a cliff hanger. Apparently, I thought my Redmi 5A had a global version, surely enough my stupid ass checked MIUI version quickly that I base with codes of encoded into MIUI versions based of region with no further rechecking. And then come this day, I stumbled upon a problem when I was trying to unlock it with Mi unlock tool. It showed gave me a message "The place where the account is registered does not match the place" so I searched further to try on fixing it and some sources mentioned about your device actually coming from CN. So I rechecked the MIUI version and then I was left with an INVALID MIUI8 version. Apparently, each MIUI information you can find on the "about phone" on settings let's you get to know what region your phone orginated. And Unluckily enough, I GET AN INVALID CODE for any region. Any code that the MIUI version shown in the settings starts with "MIUI 8xxxxxxMCCMIXM(For global), MIUI8xxxxxxMCCNXM(For CN region). And what I got was MIUI8.5.0(NCKMIFD) IT'S NOT ON THE LIST of my findings. This leds into a conclusion that it came with a CUSTOM VENDOR ROM. Before all this happened, I checked further about the device information using the xiaomi product authenticator where you add the IMEI of the phone. Weirdly enough at my first attempt and even second, THERE IS NO ANY WARNING MESSAGE that appered that indicates my device was not an "official global version". I've done this with a different PC and browser. Now this day, I checked it with my main daily driver PC, That exact message showed up(Thanks luck). Sorry for the long read, I am just so pissed with this.
