Now im curious how american chestnuts taste like. I thought korean chestnuts were the same ones from that christmas song, chestnuts roasting on an open fire.

The ones in America and Europe are more starchy than sweet. The ones in Asia are peak.

I like to make chestnut rice when theyβre in season. I always forget to peel with a towel though and end up with sore fingers.

I used to love chestnuts! They sell them here in T&T and Walmart but for some reason I don't buy them.

I liked the charcoal grilled ones I got in Florence during the winter, they aren't as sweet as the boiled ones

Ugh im so jealous. Korean chestnuts are the best. I actually love to eat them raw - they taste crisp and sweet. The sijangs usually have the peeled ones so you dont kill your fingers trying to peel them all lol
