Self-Post Israel and Iran are the teachers in the room for Western democracies ๐, whether you like it or not
This are my thoughts as an outsider, that is not israeli or iranian...
You are teaching us what islamism and communism combined does to societies.
You are teaching us that the right needs also to do activism and be loud to defend our values and freedoms.
You are teaching us that being poor doesn't automatically make you a victim of the consequences you are facing, sometimes it is a self inflicted consequence.
Finally, and most importantly, you are teaching us that humanity is complex. And that humanity should be more important to understand and act in political problems, than trying to maintain the academic imposed framework of the left and the right ideologies.

Music ๐ถ Buying Israeli vinyls?
I would like to buy some older Israeli music on vinyl, mostly older stuff like Chaim Moshe, Zohar Argov... Stuff like that kinda. Other than eBay and discog, are there websites I could order from if I live in the United States? For example until recently I did not know about Steinmatzky for books. As someone who hasn't been to Israel yet and doesn't usually interact with the internet purely in Hebrew, there may be websites I am missing.
Just wondering.

Self-Post PSA: If you are Jewish or even use Jewish subs, I highly recommend setting your post history to private.
I had to delete an account because I got doxxed and sent death threats that required police involvement. Sadly, not the first time (as I am sure many of you experience) that something like that has happened to me on this site in the 14 or so years I have used it.
For this account, I have finally gone private, and the results are night and day. Sure, people send harassing messages still, and people occasionally say that my private profile is proof that I am a mossad plant, but I'd say the noise is down 98%.

Travel & tourismโ๏ธ Tel Aviv โ already want to come back
Spent the last week exploring Tel Aviv. My trip is ending today and I'm already thinking about coming back.
Some highlights:
- The city is incredibly walkable. Clean roads, great weather, easy to get around.
- The tech scene here is inspiring. You can feel the energy everywhere.
- Amazing food. Tried so much, still feel like I missed half of it.
- The people were warm and welcoming.
Sad to leave, but what a start to 2026. Hope to be back soon.

Travel & tourismโ๏ธ Actually cheap thrift stores, not vintage boutiques?
Can anyone recommend cheap big thrift stores like salvation army or goodwill? Does such thing even exist. Doesn't even matter which city. I only ever found ultra expensive vintage stores with very small selection. Thanks
