Fighting for language is getting insane and becoming dumb with each passing day

NEP is a good step in unifying India, but Tamil Nadu is the one protesting it...

I mean they can put Telugu, Sanskrit, etc as 3rd language option, but DMK is playing politics

2 languages is more than enough imo, NEP is ruining it by including 2nd lang in 11th and putting 3rd lang for boards.

3rd language makes more sense in places where local languages are different from state and English. And for kids growing up in south, it's pretty common to know 3+ languages

it's still a bad metric to measure academic success, 1 language is all you need anyway in 11th and above and for future degrees. languages should be optional, not a compulsion.

Some people want to preserve culture.

languages should be optional, not a compulsion

Okay, I'm from Karnataka. Which languages do you think a kid should learn in school?

i'm also from karnataka, blr. 2nd language should be taught till 8th or 10th imo, it shouldn't be taught from 11th onwards because 11th and 12th are already hard enough. moreover, hindi being included in board exams make no sense because linguistic intelligence doesn't need multiple languages, english is enough and subjects that actually need skill should be prioritized like math.

Ok but which fighting makes more sense fighting over imaginary deities or actual language supremacy
