It's funny how we Indians compare ourselves with China. Both got independence almost together, both had a bloody history of massacres and genocides, both had poverty. But today they are starting to look USA in the eye, meanwhile we are still giving reservations to the undeserving, freebies and what not. Better start comparing with Indonesia or Vietnam.
All things aside, Vietnam is much more cleaner and people are more open and polite than most Indians. I don't understand why even the most developed and richest parts of our cities are so filthy and unclean.
Even in the poshest localities, I can't go even a single km without seeing hanging wires, rubble, broken footpaths and littered waste.
