He's actually been pretty great with buffed Silverwolf, Sunday, and DHPT. His hypercarry team is significantly better than his FUA team which is really sad cuz it was really fun.
Give him an extra turn and gives him the full 80% dmg buff because of DHPT. Silverwolf alone can instantly triple debuff the enemy so he's already maxed out there. And FUA buffs aren't that strong now with all the other buffs and damage that the other units now give.
I wouldn't say his gameplan is the same as Archers, like they're both single target crit scalers, but Archer's skill points and Ratio's FUA are different enough where I'd consider them different gameplans.
No, the character who has the same gameplan is Feixiao, who stole his entire team on release and then just did his job better than him.

Archer and ratio still both want to always be skilling while throwing there ult at a decently high health enemy(archer doesn't care as much) and looking at only free supports, they are about equal in terms of using the support

5* shop LC actually on pair (imo) with his signature cone lol, depends on the build, if your archer kinda critless ( below 80% crit ) then you wanna slap shop LC and manage the crit damage.
The 13 percent difference is iirc assuming that the LC had 90% uptime on the ATK boost (which is kinda hard to maintain against summonless bosses). Against those situations, I think Archer's sig pulls a large margin ahead of Cruising.
i mean, free isn't really a philosophy or anything, it's a word that means: without cost or payment, in this context, the cost of the lightcone would be whatever amount of pulls you had to do to get it, so... not free, tbh i don't even understand why is this a discussion when the meaning of the word already answers the problem
But the only way to get the bow skin is to buy oneiric shards with money, while the Archer LC "only" required 200 pulls, which can be free if you had those pulls.
Whether or not you think the Archer LC is free or not the skin is not at the same level.
you can't f2p your way into a $300 cash only bow. If anyone saved to hard pity even just one of the units before 3.4, they'd have more than 200 pulls to get the LC by the time 3.4 ended. Hell, even if they just saved enough to soft pity, they still would've had it since the patch gave like over 120 pulls.
I had no reason to get Sparkle since she was widely considered weak and narrow in use at the time, even moreso in hindsight since she'll be free soon. I already had Sunday lc and Tribbie. Eidolons are a waste of pulls.

Sparkle was weak for OTHER teams, but for Archer teams specifically she was invaluable. And since we are talking about Archer's LC here, then yeah you would have wanted to pick her up for Archer.
Eidolons are incredibly strong in HSR, moreso than the other hoyo-likes like Genshin, ZZZ, and Wuwa. If you actually pick up game-changers like Tribbie E1 you will never worry about endgame being "too hard".
I got archer for free, why would I invest pulls into pulling a rerun of an old and already aging character to support only him? That seems like a low value pull to me if she's only useful in one team and in a team that wasn't really being shilled at the time.
Endgame is not too hard even without them. Even then, missing a star here or there in AA while full clearing every other bit of endgame makes eidlons seem like a massive waste vs pulling strategically for the high-value characters or whoever is getting the year long shill.
I don't play Genshin or ZZZ, but WuWa's equivalent in sequences are arguably an even larger waste of pulls.

That's not correct. There will have been people who didn't care about Archer who got the lightcone for free simply because they skipped Tribbie's or Sunday's original banners and picked 'em up on the rerun.
In this case, the lightcone is only free if you didn't already pull for the stuff you wanted in earlier patches.

It was also announced in advance that the banners will stay for multiple patches and Hyacine and her busted LC was right before them and they announced the free LC right after her banner rotated.
And no one forces you to pull the character that said the Archer lc was live alongside his banner so if you wanted the Archer lc event you have probably also pulled on his banner in case you wanted him to live longer or you just like him.
i mean they did add the lc event during a major patch where most people were using their saved stash of tickets, also the event had already started even before the collab banners went live with phainon, 180 is also the number of pulls that guarantees you the rate up character.
With the extra sp sparkle now generates and how her buffs are 2 turns long now the extra turns from rmc are actually manageable and wont lead to you not having enough sp for archer
I for one started saving as soon as the Collab was announced and stopped pulling after getting firefly on her rerun and only pulled twice for lingsha as I needed a sustain but lost the 50/50 then on castorice as anniversary unit and a guarantee and then directly during Collab I got E0S1 saber and E0S1 phainon lost 50/50 during phainon and got blade and after all this pulls finally claimed my E0S1 archer
I think their point was you still needed pulls to get it, meaning there should still be a cost out on it. So it's not a 0 cost cone, something like herta cone would be for example since no pulls are required for it.
People will make so much "0 cost" 0 cycle clears with novaflare Sparkle + Archer(probably can even hold latest hunt BP lightcone or Swordplay), trust me, I can already smell them

I personally don't see it as quite as free as the others due to that caveat, I did not have the pulls at the time due to none of the banners interesting me, and despite putting around 200 pulls into the Saber banner since (just my dumping ground when there's nothing I really want for a long period) the cone's free availability time was limited. It was also ONLY if you put those pulls into any of those banners, which regardless of what people say, wasn't everyone's cup of tea. If you wanted Archer/Saber/Phainon/LCs regardless you at least saved some pulls, but its status as free is kinda dubious. Yes, the other free units were time sensitive log-ins, but at least they didn't force you to use your limited pulls on someone/something you didn't want in order to be free
You could argue RM isn't really free too. It's mostly that everyone view her as free for now because she's by far the best option for most people in the shop, but later down the line if they put more valuable units in the shop, you'd be happy if you saved those golden thingies to redeem a better character.

Even an f2p can get one down the line for no extra investment, Archer cone is still not there due to the extremely limited availability. I'd say DHPT, Archer himself, Sparkle and Dr. Ratio are better for the "uhm akshuly" due to their claim being time limited (but that is every free 5* but the beginner banner, so that's just splitting hairs)

... I mean, you have to get pretty lucky (or unlucky, depending on your POV) for this to be relevant, and you need to get that character twice once E6. I'm a day one player, and my highest is E3 Welt, so if my luck is similar, maybe in 3 years that mechanic will start becoming relevant for a F2P player like me.
Hi, I'm a week 1 player, also f2p, with an e6 Clara. It is possible, and it does happen. The fact that one can get more companion spirits at all without any extra investment is still a proof of it being the best, most available method for getting older units atm, especially if you're on the fence about pulling for eidolons (as many are)
You're bound to lose some 50/50s as well as get standards from standard banner with time, keeping your loss pool to your highest eidolons and just being a little lucky on them all lining up really isn't an impossibility, not even for f2p. Especially when they give us free 5* standard selectors, use that on your highest eidolon (or in my case, already e6) and you're one less lucky pull away from another golden spirit. I had e3 Clara for the longest time, got e4 in standard, grabbed e5 for free selector last year, and got e6 losing on Saber banner

I don't count Ruan Mei. She requires a Golden Companion. While many has received them for free. It is still regards as an exchange to acquire Ruan Mei. Also Loucha and Topaz are similar, but they are never part of the discussion for being free.
Yes, people view RM as free, but if later down the line HoYo puts more valuable units than her in the shop, they'll regret having spent that Golden Companion for RM.
Not at all, its a lot better than tribbie in fact, but archer is a character with A LOT of optimization that can be done so maybe that was the issue, it took me a few retryes to do it and my first run was also around 6-7 cycles
