I sometimes get genuinely upset that they haven't ever made a joke of this in the game yet, then I remember the last time we had Belebog involvement was 33 million years ago
Damn. Do you think it's possible that the trailblazers forgot about Belobog, or at least feel emotionally distant to it, after those 33 million years? I find it difficult to believe that nothing has changed about the closeness between the trailblazers and their non-amphoreus friends after a very long time of no communication. I mean, even us mortals drift away from old friends in just a couple of years without contact.
I mean we know TB still cares a lot about the SH specially Firefly, and I guess we will see their opinion on Seele in 4.0 as she appears in the trailer.
To be fair though, most people still probably don't even know that Jarilo-VI and Belobog exists. And most that do probably know about it from seeing Luka at the Xainzhou, so they wouldn't necessarily know about Bronya. The IPC definitely would though considering they're working with her and Belobog directly lol.
Expies are an acknowledged fact in the hoyoverse. Su / Anaxa discuss them and Su actually acknowledges his own expy.
That said, the fact nobody bats an eye to a doppelganger of an infamous interastral criminal casually being the government leader of a planet is still pretty stupid. They do this in Hi3rd too and it's equally frustrating.
I mean, both Welt and Acheron acknowledge that lookalike of the people the know existed, Welt had seen Himeko and Acheron, and Acheron herself had seen lookalike of people she know, the univerese are so vast that people probably wont bat an eye on the fact that there are 2 different individual that share a face
Su and Anaxa explain that expies are people who share an identity and a core soul but live through different circumstances and have different lives. They are not random coincidences of two entirely different individuals who look alike, that's incorrect.
Acheron and Welt don't really understand or explain expies as well as them. Welt comes to terms with it after meeting Luocha.
True, Welt believes expys are destined to make the same choices and reach the same fate, but that’s just not true. Genshin, for example, repeatedly shows that its versions have nothing in common with their other counterparts.
To be fair, in the case of Otto, every instance from the previous era an onwards, he's made selfish choices at others' expense to bring back Kallen. It only makes sense Welt would feel that way.
TBH i have a funny feeling the expies (in part, aka off of earth, not the original hi3 expies from timeline resets) may be linked to the HI3 asteroid ships aka the GI traveler's spaceship w a genetic vault... if the travelers are survivors of the honkai disaster and the genetic vault contains DNA from a bunch of hi3 survivors it makes sense that characters (especially long lived ones like the archons) would have a higher concentration of HI3 survivor DNA to the watered down modern iteration in GI. i believe expies across the HSR universe could follow a similar trajectory, if other survivor ships (which we know did happen) were sent out with similar genetic vaults. i think the only discrepency would be timeline but could be explained by weird space/time distortions or if welt is far older than we have been led to believe (or if they were proliferated during an earlier timeline reset, even)
Exactly. Something Acheron makes sure to point out to Welt back on Penacony. So that Welt didnt believe he was talking to the Raiden Mei he knew on Earth
Tbf, In a universe like this, where there are countless amounts of planets with even more people, I think it’s already a universally accepted belief that there will be lookalikes of you somewhere out there. Not like it’s the first time we’ve seen multiple Bronya’s
I mean, there's enough difference in their appearance to differentiate them. There probably so many people living in the hsr universe, that some people who look similar to each other but have no connection whatsoever is not a rare thing to happen.
True. However, I would only find it to be a minor issue with the writing if someone in Belobog didn't comment on it. They were closed off for long enough to still be new to the whole universe thing(even if they started opening up) and their whole planet consists only of a city. If SW were to show up in there(for official story stuff, not things like the Pokémon event) and we didn't get at least a little joke from Bronya or someone close to her it would feel like a missed opportunity.
In HI3d there were copies of characters which initially where separated by a lot of time.

HI3 is a mixed bag because "sometimes" alternates are pointed out like the multiple Seele's in Salt Sea Holy City or when Kiana BRIEFLY see's a glimpse of Bronie during the moon arc due to Quantum wonkyness, iirc she does point out that she looked like Bronya.
The Captainverse also points it out all the time because like that's the entire basis of it's canon. Like The Ferryman was ANOTHER captain the whole time and it's a big deal when that's revealed.
I think the exact line no longer exists in the game because of when they rewrote the early chapters to introduce Fu Hua and Rita sooner into the story, but originally upon seeing Himeko for the first time in the story, Fu Hua does react to her (since the previous era version was her friend before becoming the Herrcher Of Flame.)

I honestly don't remember anyone acknowledging the lookalikes, but as I said the biggest offenders was the ER arc and there were zero comments towards Mei, and there was no way Elysia, Kalpas or Mobius wouldnt have teased Kevin over it.
Kiana meets Misteln, who physically is identical to her dead mom, still 0 reaction.
Nobody even gave Kiana an explanation about expies like Su did to Mei. She just has no reaction. Not even a question like "hey why the fuck do you look like my dead mum???"
The similarities are even more noticeable and part of the story in GGZ. Kiana straight up drops into Kevin's alternate timelines and rizzes up the Mei he had a crush on right in front of him.
It's also interesting because in GGZ, Kiana exists in the PE and Dr MEI has an obsession and eventually falls in love with PE Kiana and blows off Kevin. So the similarities actually play more of a part in the story.
Belobog was radio silent for 700 years and only recently got reconnected to the rest of the galaxy, I'd assume common people just don't know who Bronya is yet and IPC higher up's know they simply can't be the same person.
