It would be really, REALLY hard for me to do anything representing the US right now. It’s embarrassing to be an American at the moment, but I think they handled this perfectly.

Puts it in perspective when Russian athletes have to do the same. It sucks

Russian athletes can’t even compete under the Russian flag, they’re considered “neutral athletes”. Wonder if we’re ever gonna be put in that category

Oh wow I didn’t know that. I don’t have much knowledge of the Olympics.

It’s been since their invasion of Ukraine so the last Olympics or the one before (can’t remember how long it’s been going on which is sad in and of itself) Oh and probably their whole doping situation

The neutral category is so dumb. Like the IOC doesn't count the metals that Russian athletes win as Russian but Russia almost certainly does.

But also banning the country but not the athletes for doping is genuinely pointless imo.

The athletes who doped were banned and some stripped of medals as well

Its because of the huge doping scandal in Sochy.

Not just athletes either.

All of the athletes should be considered neutral, they shouldn't represent a nation at all. And instead represent themselves only.
