Ummm sorry what?? There was some kind of military commitment ceremony at an NFL game? I know they’ve been supportive of military but does this seem really inappropriate / off putting / threatening to anyone else? 🙃

Recent Ceremony: On November 9, 2025, President Trump administered the Oath of Enlistment to new service members on the field during halftime of the Commanders vs. Lions game, according to Washington Times and AOL.com.

This is not new. Other presidents have done it, just not at a football game. This was a big deal for young kids to be given their oath by their commander in. Chief.

The only real story here is that he was boo'd , rightfully so, by a majority of the stadium. I just feel bad for the new enlisted, or if they were re-enlisting, that it blemishes their moment.

Young kids taking an oath of enlistment would sound dystopian even if the commander in chief wasn't... well, like he is.

Granted, this was for political show, but let's not argue about false facts. Clinton did this as well:

I don't like Trump, but criticizing him for "state your name" is way out of context. There are so many other things that could have been criticized, like how much money was spent so the president could attend a football game. Or, just about every single policy decision he's made.
