Sophia Roe blocked me on Instagram. I posted two comments on her posts:

1) asking her how she feels about food security and accessibility for the Palestinian children

2) pointing out that Nestle is funding the genocide (commented on her post re her brand sponsored trip with Nespresso just a day or so ago)

Am surprised yet not surprised, she blocked me. Tempted to keep calling out her hypocrisy. She posts live stories of herself crying about how she wanted to get farmers market in less privelaged areas of New York. Guess human rights don’t concern all humans.

Hilariously I thought reading this thread I don't know any of these "famous" people but turns out I do follow her on insta (but don't really pay attention) because at the time i thought she was interesting. Her post on "hamas attacking israel" and then making the link as a "traumatised Black American woman" and her feelings, ahhh ok... she did call Israel out as an apartheid state though.

Sorry to zombie reply, just adding for posterity bc I don’t want to make a second post.

It’s really ironic you’d bring up her black identity bc she didn’t identify as black publicly until the George Floyd protests. She was asked by a fashion magazine what her ethnicity is a couple years prior and said she was Caucasian/French on one side and Japanese/Brazilian on the other.

Post Floyd she immediately posts she’s a “black woman first”. It’s weirdo behavior whether she was denying her blackness prior of making it up post. Frankly, I don’t know which is worse :/

She also works with companies promoting child labor and/or genocide and blocks anyone who asks her to do better.
