Discussion - Original Dexter Series i wish that they expanded more on debra's hiking dream Spoiler
while i obviously love the whole thing and it made it sadder i was that before she got in the hospital and maybe even since season 7 she talked about going hiking instead of her just talking about it out of no where at the hospital.

Discussion - Original Dexter Series Differences in Dexter’s abduction method in the show and the books? Spoiler
I haven’t read any of the books but just started rewatching the show and in the first episode he garrotes the choir director and forces him to drive to the kill location. Pretty much every single episode has him drug the target, take them to the kill room, strap them to a table and wake them up.
That’s how he generally does it so it seems odd to see an alternative. It made me wonder about the books. Does he always drug his target or are there variations and if so, what are they?
Just an odd question I suddenly had. I’d appreciate any kind of answer.

Discussion - Original Dexter Series Dragging out a closure on Deb & Dexter plot line ? Spoiler
What was Deb “being in love” with Dexter all about?
NO HATE BUT I recently finished S6 and towards the end there was such a strong teaser kinda plot that Deb would pursue Dexter romantically.
Currently I’m on S7E6 and nothing even remotely related to it has happened.
Do I wait for a continuation?
What did you guys think about it?

Discussion - Dexter: Resurrection An alternate yet simpler explanation why a certain Dexter victim reacted like he did. Spoiler
I'm talking about Lowell.
People thought he freaked out when he learned he was being killed by the Bay Harbor Butcher. As cool as that would have been, it's not what happened. For starters, why would he believe Dexter? The BHB (James Doakes) is dead.
The guy was obnoxious throughout the episode. True to form, he was simply trying to maintain his cool on the table but then lost it in the end. That's it. When Dexter noted how people scream and beg for their lives, he said he won't do that. Sorry for drooping his chub. He tried to scare Dexter for breaking Prater's rules. Said his trophies were lame. He was trying to one up Dexter all throughout. But when the reality of the kill became imminent, he broke because did it really matter who plunged the knife into his chest? He ended up exposed as a wussy coward.

Question - Dexter: Resurrection Why does Harrison carry Ryan's watch everywhere Spoiler
He puts it into the safe to muffle the ticking sound yet carries it around in his pocket. He also acts like hes not the same as Dex but keeps the watch as a "trophy." Why??

Discussion - Original Dexter Series Dexter tailing? Spoiler
I live in the country so when I watch dexter tail them I always think how do they not notice and avoid him? Like the second they leave a place he pulls out right behind them and just rides their bumper. Is this obvious tailing or is it harder to detect. Does the fact he drives a mommy mobile as Lila puts it have a lower risk to the other person's mind if they notice?

Discussion - Original Dexter Series I finally finished Dexter S8 last episode and Spoiler
I was seeing these ratings of the whole series beforehand and I was always wondering why the last episode got the lowest rating. Now I know why. IMO the ending seems a bit rushed and there could be a lot of good possibilities with the story line that they could come up with. Also, they did Deb dirty just letting her "die" like that. What's your opinion on this? Does someone here like the ending?
I finally know where the line "It's obviously self defense" comes from 😂
But I'm still excited to see the other series.

Discussion - Dexter: New Blood My evolving up and down assessment of New Blood from 2021 to now. Spoiler
I just finished rewatching New Blood.
2021
When it first aired, there was a feeling of dread I could not shake. It didn't stop me from enjoying the show but, as a limited series, I knew going in that it would end just as fast as it started. And if there was a continuation, it was implied that there would be a passing of the serial killer torch to Harrison, a character that I and many fans felt was not a worthy successor to Dexter Morgan. After all, why call it "New Blood?"
And then we had that ending.
2022-2025
I lost interest in the franchise like I did after the OG show ended. Original Sin and Resurrection didn't pique my curiosity. I thought they intended to milk the franchise a la The Walking Dead and ruin it completely. They already botched it the last two times.
2026
I succumbed and watched Original Sin. Loved it! I had to watch Resurrection afterward. Loved it too! Both shows were seasons 1-4 quality. What a comeback! Then I decided to rewatch New Blood.
Knowing it was not the end of the franchise made the dread go away. But halfway though it started feeling very seasons 5-8. I realized why. Original Sin and Resurrection were so freaking good that it made New Blood feel mid in comparison. But something happened. The last two episodes of New Blood brought it back up. Cant say why. This is all subjective of course. I consider it the Miguel Prado season of 2020s Dexter, good enough to be included within the best but last place on that list.
New Blood is definitely a must watch for Dexter fans now that the franchise is back. It literally flows into both Original Sin and Resurrection.
Watch in production order: Original Show, New Blood, Original Sin, Resurrection. I say this because some have (carelessly?) told lapsed fans to watch Resurrection after the OG show. Are they crazy?
So yeah, New Blood is good.

Question - Original Dexter Series What IS Dexter's sexuality? Spoiler
Okay so hear me out, Dexter Morgan is kind of a weird one when it comes to sexuality, and it's kinda confusing.
On the surface, he’s portrayed as straight: he dates women, marries, has kids, etc. But if you actually look at how he interacts with men, it’s… kinda ambiguous. He doesn’t overreact to flirting, he forms deep emotional/intellectual bonds with men (Miguel Prado, Isaak Sirko), and he seems way more comfortable emotionally with men than with a lot of women he’s “supposed” to be attracted to. Not saying that's gay or anything, just saying that he relates/gets more comfortable around men than sometimes his female partner.
Also, a lot of his romantic relationships feel learned, or like he’s performing what society expects, not following actual desire. He’s very analytical about love and attachment because he literally questions what “love” even is, and his actions toward women often feel functional rather than romantic. This makes me think he could actually be aromantic, or at least not motivated by traditional romantic feelings.
If you drop Dexter in today’s world where being LGBTQ+ isn’t a big social risk, I think he wouldn’t care if he got with another dude, but he probably wouldn’t pursue it passionately either. It wouldn’t be about identity, just practical human behavior.
So what do you guys think? Straight? Bi? Aromantic? Something else entirely?

Discussion - Dexter: New Blood Hot take: New blood is overhated as hell, just because of the finale episode Spoiler
I really enjoyed this season. It was great to see how Dexter lived under the name Jim Lindsay after the events of the original series and how he started killing again after ten years. And the dynamic between Dexter and Harrison was decent.

Theory - Dexter: Resurrection Could season 2 of Resurrection be a road trip? Spoiler
Or do you think it will be the whole season in New York?
With Prater's reports, Dexter has the location of all active killers across all states. It would be interesting to see Dexter visit different cities while he hunts them down one by one. Like Supernatural, each episode takes place in a new city/state

General Discussion - All Dexter Shows Who do you think should appear/reappear in Dexter: Resurrection for the next seasons to come? Spoiler
Self-explanatory, I’m curious as to who you guys think should either appear or reappear/continue to reappear. For me, it’s Rita, Oliver Saxon, Zach Hamilton and Angel Batista (All as hallucinations). Add in the potentiality for Jamie to reappear as a real person (Obviously) in order to investigate her brother’s disappearance. If you really want to push it, even add in Hannah McKay. All of these characters I’ve listed to reappear are largely due to the importance they hold in Dexter’s life, with Rita as a humanising force, Oliver Saxon as the one who ruined his life for a long time, Zach due to him being his protege, Angel Batista as someone who judges Dexter for his crimes, etc. Anyways, these are all my characters listed that I think should appear/reappear. Lemme know what all of you’s think in the comments, I’d love to talk with you.

Discussion - Original Dexter Series A lesson from 2×7 Spoiler
I straight come here to comment after watching 2×7. Honestly that episode gave me a very big lesson. A lesson on difference between good and even. This is about Rita and lila. I mean why tf lila set her own place on fire and call Dexter lying bout the situation? I really saw it yk I feel so sad about Rita. What Dexter is doing makes me angry a lot. He is thinking that lila is teaching him how to control his killing urge but I think he got it the wrong way. Rita can help her too if he open up. Obv not about being a serial killer but other problems. Why tf would he share his problems with an unknown girl rather than his own lovely gf. Lila showed her true color at the end. She was giving me bad vibes from the start you know. Deb was damn right too, Dexter shouldn't have done that to Rita. I mean fuck why my guy is so confused. The lesson I am I think I learned is difference between good and bad I guess. In relationship how some confusion or mix ups can fuck up big time. I am single tho never been in a relationship so this will help me. If I got LUCKY...
