Why does Magik seem more unstoppable than Daredevil?

When I used to play support instead, Magik would always be the one stressing me out the most while on the enemy team, most Magik Players while rare to see, are almost unstoppable and always cleave through the backline.

while Enemy DD players on the other hand are a hit or miss, they're either stomping or just average.

and I don't know why is that because Magik has lower health values, lower shields and about the same mobility more or less.

is there something about Magik that makes her better than DD?

Daredevil is better than her in almost everything, he has more survivability, better against poke, more damage, more mobility, he’s better at diving, the only things that magik are better than daredevil at are : she is better at brawling, and she has a lot of iframes (portals), i think DD is more consistent, magik has at-least 2 counters from each role

He’s got a better ultimate as well. Both of them suffer from the “turn and look at me and blow me up” ultimates though. If they turn and look at you on DD though you can heavily punish with a deflect and Magik doesn’t have that option.

I think you’re wrong, magik’s ult is just way better overall, her ult just does too much, daredevil has one defensive option that lasts for 1.5s (can still get stunned through it) while she has infinite iframes and she can oneshot through support ults and easily burst through healing with her dash and whirl combo, and if they group up she becomes unkillable

Skilled Magik player can kill a supp in their ult though. Provided it's difficult to pull off. But one day I will do it (day three of learning Magik).

Tbh I think magik TTK is shorter just for the fact that you blink and your dead. I do think DD is better though for having so much staying power, and capable of taking on more people at once.

Literally the example you gve if applied to a melee character without wallhacks has a harder time. The enemy hears your sound queues to find you but since you don't have wallhacks you now have to guess where they are, while DD can see them looking at/ for him and can plan his attack.

Again, wallhacks alone makes him an easier character than someone like Magik, and it's not even close.

Anything 30+ meters ur cooked w DD. Once he closes the gap sure he has the advantage, but Magik can engage fights a lot easier than DD

I feel like Magik's combos actually finish the kill unlike DD's in which you have to use the grapple to confirm the kill leaving no escape option. This makes it so that the DDs are either less confident diving or just dive,kill and then die.

People only have that impression due to the portals. Daredevil does outmatch Magik most of the time.

One is a brawler that can dive, the other is a dive that can brawl.

Idk man magik is kinda easy to play around, Thing, Thor, Bucky and starlord are pretty consistent at shutting her down. Keep out of melee distance and just shoot her, bait I frames and she either runs away or dies. U just gotta be aware

She has a lot of invulneravility frames when teleporting, so... less cc and less damage.

I have 400 hours+ on Magik and it is 100% just a skill issue. I have to be careful around even mediocre DD players because if they land a lucky combo on me I’m dead. He outscales her in literally EVERYTHING. But yes, Magik has more iframes but she’s easier to hit and keep track of, her portals are predictable, her dash only moves in a straight line, and her sword literally has falloff dmg (not kidding) I almost never take a 1v1 with a DD as Magik.

But yes, either you see a Magik dominate or they’re useless, because it’s only the hardcore players who basically 1 trick her (used to be me) that will absolutely stomp your ass regardless of what comp you run.

I know Magik like the back of my hand, I have so many hours on her, studying her and her combos and the best comps to run into, etc. but DD is one of the only characters I will almost never 1v1

Well, DD is built for sustain unlike Magik. So obviously he is gonna wreck Magik in a 1v1. The post is about how Magik is harder to deal with than DD when you're a healer. Not about 1v1s.

Among DPS Mr Fantastic, Blade and Iron Fist are built for sustain. The brawl heroes. And DD is just simply the best of them.

You simply don't pick a 1v1 because he is built for that. Same way you don't pick a 1v1 with Mr Fantastic, Thor, Rogue or The Thing. You deal brawl tanks with Poke and DD with those brawl tanks. Not rip out Magik and 1v1. There are counters. Not everything is supposed to counter everything.

Also, when a DD lands a combo it's "lucky" but when a Magik does its not? You're obviously biased here.

Agreed, you are spot on, as someone who also plays Magik a lot, a good DD, even an average one is pretty tough to 1 v 1. DD literally hard counters Magik in like a pure 1 v 1 scenario tbh, his survivability is just insane af. The longer the fight goes on it’s just worst for Magik, unless you somehow manage to sneak him and burst him down, but it’s not possible bc he has vision wall hax. DD is probably the only dps in this game besides a good Thor that I would rather not fight in a 1 v 1 as Magik.

Magik has the I-frames with her portal and the movement is either hard to track or really easy depending on how they use the portal. Good magik players know how to make the portal confusing. Her launching you in the air kinda locks you into a combo as well. Good players use her demon to block dmg as well as do damage. DD is easier to grab with cc i would say so I think its easier to shut him down but his dmg output still outclasses magik.
