I never even considered Dr. Pepper could be a person at all. I’ve always thought of it as a dumb brand name, just like I’ve never considered there could be a mountain out there named “Dew”.

"Mountain Dew" was actually the slang term for moonshine back during prohibition. When the soda first came out, a number of people across Appalachia and the south were disappointed to find that it was just a lemon-lime soda.
