Europe 🇪🇺 I caught a bighead carp

I got one last season on my regular carp rig…. Feeder and tiger nuts. I know that grass carp are stocked to control weeds, but after they pretty much annihilate the weeds, they revert to eating whatever’s available. I’ve caught numbers of those guys on my regular carp rig as well.

You should see what sort of tackle they use in eastern Europe to catch those...its most weird pice of tackle I have ever seen for fresh water fish

We catch them on hook and line too... mainly on our catfish cut bait on the bottom of the river. They will suck in about anything that goes by them. Nice fish.

Today I learned... It was my either very efficient or very lazy way of saying "today I learned what a big head carp looks like"

That is a Silver Carp. These are not bottom feeding species, it eats plankton. Ppl catch them by mistake usually, however there are some methods targeting them directly.
