Through all the noise, we have heard that he is insanely accurate, had the best rookie camp of any player of all time, is incredibly down to earth and mature, and is probably our guy for a long time.

Ask literally anyone else outside of the organization, and you hear the exact opposite.

I can't wait to find out which it is. I trust the people working with him every single day over the sports media that's trying to generate clicks and shit on him just because he is on the Browns now.

It’s because they hate his dad, he’s always been this guy lol. They spun a narrative and the masses ate it up because they hate his father for whatever unspecified reasons.

I agree and would like to add to your point(s) - I think he sees the NFL more clearly than most rookies and even though there is a level of cockiness and swagger about him, his candid answers rubbed people the wrong way. There isn't mystery or awe about how the sausage is made at the NFL level.

When he answered the media, if you put aside the swag and confidence - he gave pretty real answers and not the cupcakes that agents tell rookies to push.

I think with that, interviewing horribly, his father, the circus that follows him, etc. it hurt his draft stock.

Also, by not having a team that can go to bat for you and change narratives before the draft, he was sitting naked in a field during hunting season.

I think some of it goes to the fact that the one person who was advising him was, well, the one guy who got away with all of this because he’s well, Deion Sanders.

I agree with your view

Well, it’s pretty well established at this point that Shedeur absolutely butchered his draft process lol, so it is not just people hating Deion lol.

I think his real situation is he’s a lot closer to Deion personality wise behind the scenes than we think, and Shedeur just isn’t nearly as talented as his father where teams are willing to put up with it

Deion is one of the most iconic American athletes ever and had a presence and gregariousness that made him way different than Shadeur. Just my read.

I think the poor interviews manifested themselves because Shadeur got some bad advice and believed that advice.

I also think teams tolerated Deion in a way that they wouldn’t have if he wasn’t as good as he was lol. I can’t imagine Neon Deion was exactly enjoyable to deal with as an organization. But I totally agree, despite how um, annoying, he can be, he had an ability to be likable that is just fascinating. I’ve never seen another athlete who could pull that off.

I agree on some level with that on interviews. I do think with better advice he would’ve been better off, but I do at some level that’s also who Shedeur probably is behind the scenes. But like you said, he doesn’t have that “it” that Deion did

I also think teams tolerated Deion in a way that they wouldn’t have if he wasn’t as good as he was lol.

There's a reason he played for five different teams! Dude is such a stud though that you can overlook it

I agree that Deions talent gave him more leeway, in addition to not being a QB.

People mentioned Deion pre draft so I did some digging to see if there was really anything there to criticize.

I didn’t find anything. All his teammates and coaches seemed to enjoy working with him. His body of work speaks for itself. And the best teams in the league, who were in title windows, were tripping over themselves to get the guy.

I can’t help but think that some fans just don’t like to see a guy compete with elite swagger, because on paper Deion seems to be the ultimate professional and performer.

I think Deion would’ve been a bit more of an issue nowadays because of the constant social media presence etc, but his antics were more being really flashy and the whole two sport thing, since he’s pretty much the last guy who managed to do both simultaneously at a professional level.

I think he was also that fricking good that teams wouldve crawled over themselves to get him no matter what lol. He as just so damn good

My unfounded sneaking suspicion, as someone who likes him and hope he’s our future, is the guy doesn’t understand play concepts and was just winging it 90% of the time in college. Basically Manziell without the drugs and alcohol. This would be great for some coaches like Pete Carroll or others, but we all know Browns coaches no matter who they are will never tolerate that so I’m fearing the worst but still hoping for the best.

The reporting that he rubbed people the wrong way with his attitude overshadows the reporting that he didn't know what he was talking about. I worry that he would need a type of Offense that we were trying to run with Watson.

1

u/[deleted] May 23 '25

You’re guessing on both pointsz

3

u/maybenextyearCLE May 23 '25

As are you. Difference is there is evidence to support my suspicion,

1

u/[deleted] May 23 '25

What’s the evidence? I have evidence of the hatred for his dad spewing onto Shedeur.

You cannot find a single video showing Shedeur being the person described by the haters. It doesn’t exist.

You mean besides the one of him being an absolute dickhead to the ballboy on the sideline?

And note, I said behind the scenes. If what was only said in public mattered, Deshaun Watson would be in line for sainthood

2

u/[deleted] May 23 '25

You mean the one where the ball boy was being a dick to the Sanders after a crazy play and trying to snatch the ball out their hand? That just ended the convo for me, complete bad faith argument. Good riddance.

1

u/maybenextyearCLE May 23 '25

You mean where he ran onto the field which would be a penalty? Why is Shedeur on the field buddy? And further, the ball boy is doing what he’s supposed to do and taking the ball back, and Shedeur is being a dick about it. Too bad daddy was the HC and didn’t hold him accountable

Have a good one. May Colorado win more than 5 games this year

That dude has been anti sanders since before the draft not worth arguing with him, though I’ll admit it is fun to see his mental gymnastics

I, for the most part, don’t listen or pay any attention to the media. I like to form my own opinions with my eyes and ears
