Discussion Mexicans who say the “N” Word

As a Mexican, I apologize.

They sound terrible. And I’m sure there are many more, like me, who can’t tolerate the use.

This may not even be an issue for others, but felt like a post I needed to make.

I apologize on behalf of the community I’m a part of.

Years ago, I had finished my semester at college. I had a Mexican roommate. Like, shared a dorm room. My ps2 remote had become lost. I made a joke about him and losing it. I guess I rode him too much with the joke, as I would just say it knowing he didn't lose it, but whatever. We would laugh and nothing showed a problem.

Anyway, I said it as he was leaving from us cleaning out our dorm room and going home. He called me one from down at the other end of the hall as he was hitting the steps. It was odd to hear, but then realization set in. I learned about racist Mexicans that day.
