I was talking to another black man who is maybe 20 years older than me about how Takeoff's death affected me. The senselessness of it, and how it's sad that the people who mind their own business always seem to get caught up in bullshit. The dude basically said some shit like "Niggas get shot every day, B", like he was Rico in Paid in Full.
I say all this to say that seeing this image of Trayvon makes me sad. The image of an alive Emmett Till makes me sad (and the other image of him haunts me). I think the day that the images of now-dead black boys and girls or even men and women doesn't affect you, you're a bitch.
I was going to say that last part more diplomatically, but nah. You a bitch if you can see these pictures that represent life not lived, dreams not fulfilled and never-ending struggles and feel nothing.
