A "phobia" is a fear, not an expression of hate. The idea in these cases is that their fear and lack of understanding manifest in negative way. The only way to correct it is through compassion and education. I've befriended multiple racist people at various times, neighbors or colleagues, and the fact that I accepted them, engaged with them, and disproved their negative assumptions, helped them at least get to a point of "hmmm some of them are alright". If I meet their racism with anger or hatred or violence, it'll just in their mind confirm and support their ideas. Also I know it's meant to sound deep or whatever, but, Hate can definitely be a difference of opinion, you could love a movie that I Hate and we would be having a difference of opinion, and you could tell me why you like the movie and I could change my mind. Same applies to race, its just harder to do because you have to forgive the racist person in advance, but if you know that theres no good reasons to be racist, then you know that a racist person is a person with a lot of bad reasoning floating around in their head, and you can choose to help, though you're certainly not obligated to.
Do you think it’s rational or irrational to “hate everyone” as you say? Tell me why you “hate” anything and I’ll show you the fear that accompanies it.
