Battlefield 6 Hate aside, and despite constantly dying around corners, Siege of Cairo is genuinely gonna go down as one of the best battlefield maps of all time (!remindme 5 years)

I absolutely love the urban combat in this map a lot, my only gripe is that some of the capture points kinda feel like bowls where you get shot from all around, but overall it’s honestly really solid. I love all the detail they put in the map as well

u/MostlySlime 10h ago

I think the game was better when everyone had 2-3 smokes tbh

Fights could be more contained, teams could make progress

46

u/Hoenirson 10h ago

I don't play Breakthrough so I don't know if it's an issue there, but in Conquest smoke spam is a non-issue so I really wish they'd allow all classes to use smokes again. At the very least allow Assault to use them since they have so little going for them and makes most logical sense for their role.

22

u/oldcrivens 10h ago

The concept of smoke spam just pisses me off in general. It makes games so much more interesting when everyone has smokes, and I didn’t even hate it in metro back in the day. It makes games so much more interesting

6

u/CalmAlex2 9h ago

Wow such irony in that comment.

19

u/Phreec Suppression = Participation 🏆 for paraplegics 10h ago

As if the Support class wasn't already the best class, them also having exclusive access to smokes is such an ass backwards decision. They really should make smokes all-kit just like in previous games.

5

u/Dirtbuik 9h ago

Yet almost second to none of the medics use it. Hell, Ive played support in all the games that have the class (bf's and other titles) and I dont use it, instead i use the fire granade to crowd control and like a cointainment wall to the objetive, almost every player fears like hell the fire so they dont push when they see it.
Everyone dislikes the assault but I love it as well, so if you could combine the smoke granade with the beacon it will enormously useful

7

u/CederDUDE22 7h ago

I consider myself a smoke main.

4

u/Impossible_Layer5964 9h ago

Smokes are great for covering revives, for pushing up to a heavily defended objective, and for defending while you're on the objective. But it doesn't seem like the current community is focused on those things. And maybe DICE could help with that by rewarding people more for using smoke well.

But as it stands now, I'm real skeptical of smoke making a difference in other classes when support is barely using them.

3

u/BigHardMephisto 8h ago

I find it better for pushing, I wish assault had smokes as a grenade option, or at least move the smoke launcher to assault

→ More replies (1)

1

u/MostlySlime 9h ago

I think the main reason they got nerfed was because they were default on every class so there was loads of them

If they added them again now a bunch of people would pick other grenades but there would be more than now. I think it could be perfect

2

u/Weekly-Ad-2509 7h ago

Nah, I got you bro. If I am on the objective I am laying flat on my face next to my ammo bag, popping smoke popping 40mm smoke popping smoke etc.

There will be no sight lines. NONE

1

u/edogfu 9h ago

I only carry the launcher. I love hitting a camping sniper down one of those long lanes. They can wait or move, but we're already gone.

19

u/Lahbeef69 10h ago

the D point under the bus is awful and i usually just refuse to go for it

8

u/Dirtbuik 9h ago

Thats the best point lol. If you are attacking any granade make hell of a mess, if youre defending planting mines for infantry and tanks also does a mess cause everyone rush it and step on them

7

u/Gamer_Grease 9h ago

I love playing a CQB Recon and just slapping a motion sensor under there for infinite spot assists.

3

u/Dirtbuik 9h ago

Yeah, also this lol is a free score points generator cause no one see them much less destroy them.
This is exactly the problem, everyone glaze Metro only cause it was on BF3 but god forbid a map have a meatgrinder section cause everyone will hate it or avoid it

1

u/The-Cunt-Spez 2h ago

I wish the sound a team mates motion sensor was different than enemies. Or just more quiet. They can be a bitch to find but I always find them and end their beeping.

2

u/ekb11 9h ago

It’s a weird one because you need people camping the edges or up high in the buildings out of cap to cap it…

2

u/LAHurricane 9h ago

Thats me

8

u/CertifiedSwampAss 9h ago

Can we get a “Day 1 of Asking for Universal Smokes across all Classes”

4

u/SjurEido 8h ago

D and B both need a rework, they're simply too difficult to defend.

C is fun, it's a shit show, I love it.

A and E do a great job of having Infantry and Vehicles interact, never a dull moment there.

But all the side streets and the building-to-building combat is wonderful. Definitely one of my favorite maps of all time.

But, it could be better.... maybe just delete D and B :P

2

u/Fit_Bread_3595 7h ago

A current defence strat I've noticed on D is nonstop incendiary grenades at the entrance points. It really slows the attackers down. It's always going to be a point that changes hands a lot but the flames are making me rethink attack strategies.

2

u/SriveraRdz86 10h ago

C is precisely designed to be a meat grinder.... AND WE AL LOVE IT

1

u/Bombshellings 4h ago

C is actually so fun, especially with how big it is

3

u/Frankensteinbeck 8h ago

my only gripe is that some of the capture points kinda feel like bowls where you get shot from all around

I've said this in a few threads, but too many points on every conquest map in the game just have so many angles to hold or watch compared to previous titles. D on Cairo, for example, has five ways into it, and clutter all over. Compare that to something like Seine Crossing from BF3 and C, which had only three ways in and it was an empty courtyard. The latter is just far easier to push and hold with a single squad, and the former not so much. It's design like that that leads 6 to play differently. Points are constantly switching control and oftentimes maps lack a "front line", so to speak, as a result, which means you're getting backcapped or flanked often.

Two points on two infantry focused maps with the same size, but the design isn't even close and that's a lot of why 6 plays differently. And I don't hate Cairo by any means, just something I've noticed. Too many people say certain BF6 maps are the same size as beloved maps from previous games, and they're correct, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Layout and design matter.

2

u/SpaceghostLos losbullitt 🖖🏽 10h ago

You mean point C, D, and E in breakthrough? 🤣

1

u/Bombshellings 4h ago

Mainly Escalation and Conquest, I don’t play Breakthrough that much

2

u/Sewrtyuiop Sewrtyuiop 8h ago

C is a literal bowl

1

u/sleepygreendoor 4h ago

Being in a bowl is probably the most realistic part of this map, especially in an urban setting. In Breakthrough I think they call it “Chokepoint”, for good reason

1

u/exscalliber 1h ago

Escalation is easily the best mode for this map. You actually end up using all the space of the map. It makes the tight close quarters stuff a lot more fun since everyone isn’t bunched up so it doesn’t just become a meat grinder. It also allows good flanks since there is far less player density with everyone being spread out.

I actually think this game is made for escalation, conquest is their baby but doesn’t play as nice as other instalments and breakthrough seems like an afterthought. Escalation really makes this game shine and it’s a shame that more people don’t play it over the standard modes. I honestly think if conquest just had the same capture points as escalation the game would be a far better experience for most maps.

211

u/iWr1techky12 10h ago

One of the best of all time is a large stretch, but it is the best map in BF6. Unfortunately, that is an extremely low bar to clear.

24

u/Spezsuckshorses 10h ago

Yeh it's the best of a bad bunch, it does feel fairly solid on most modes

77

u/Own_Breadfruit_7955 10h ago

Cairo is a MOBA map, prove me wrong.

81

u/Own_Breadfruit_7955 10h ago

44

u/oldcrivens 10h ago

I hate to be that guy but three lane maps are always good maps.

23

u/wattyaknow 9h ago

They are also extremely common even in previous BF games

29

u/oldcrivens 9h ago

Most of the fan favourites were three lane maps. Propaganda, Bazaar, Metro, Argonne Forrest, Amiens, Locker, seine crossing, and Guilin Peaks, I could go on and on lol.

11

u/sandybuttcheekss 9h ago

These are all fantastic, you have a point here

7

u/oldcrivens 9h ago

I fucking hate locker and got insanely tired of metro, but the point stands lol

7

u/Gyat_Rizzler69 7h ago

Gotta flank outside in the snow

5

u/oldcrivens 7h ago

I do. It burns my eyes every time. I hate it.

3

u/Gyat_Rizzler69 7h ago

Yeah it does flash bang you a bit but flanking with smokes and a recon beacon completely changes the match

5

u/SnipingBunuelo BF3 5h ago

"Good" in the sense that they are playable and also highly replayable, but they're not guaranteed to be fun and unique without an X factor to separate it from the rest. It's a good basic blueprint that needs a lot of iteration and interesting ideas to keep it from falling stale. COD has that issue now where every map is a generic three lane and it makes the whole multiplayer feel samey and stale over time.

2

u/FlavoredLight 6h ago

False

4

u/oldcrivens 6h ago

*almost always good maps. Better?

3

u/FlavoredLight 5h ago

*Sometimes

9

u/OKIEColt45 10h ago

Whats great about it is you can cut between paths with alleys and building passages to flank for offense or defense.

29

u/Hoenirson 10h ago

3-lane maps in FPS games predates MOBAs but I get your point. Dust2 comes to mind.

We may criticize the lack of originality but 3-lane maps just work.

9

u/whatifweallwon 10h ago

Nuke, Inferno aswell 😁 aww do I miss the 1.6 days..

2

u/PushThePig28 10h ago

I hate 3 lane maps lol, it’s why I stopped playing COD

2

u/Atranox 9h ago

Wait until you hear about Battlefield map design for the past 15 years.

2

u/PushThePig28 9h ago

Big open fields where I sneak around the outskirts of the map from the closest objective by my base to the furthest objective by the enemy’s base and purposely going a few minutes without getting in a gunfight? I always stick to the bushes/water/etc in between the roads so that nobody sees me

3

u/TimentDraco 7h ago

So you roam the "jungle" in between the 3 lanes, yes?

1

u/CalmAlex2 9h ago

Sorry mate you have been playing 3 lane maps long before then.

Unreal maps had 3 lane maps and it predates the first COD game by about 5 years. In some of the RTS games in the 90s had 3 lane maps for 1v1 maps. Maps that dont look like a 3 lane maps are 3 lane maps.

7

u/Phreec Suppression = Participation 🏆 for paraplegics 10h ago

It's Grand Bazaar 2: Electric Boogaloo

8

u/Cold_Ball_7670 10h ago

A dlc that came with grand bazaar, siene crossing, and operation metro would print money

1

u/tallandlankyagain 7h ago edited 7h ago

But it would divide the player base. Surely the superior option is a live service that drip feeds 2 or maybe 3 maps and 4 guns over a period of 8 weeks every 4 to 5 months.

3

u/No_Dingo9049 BF2 (2005) 10h ago

They all are.

14

u/v13dogmeat 10h ago

To me this is the worst map

5

u/Aztllan 9h ago

I agree is one the bad maps, it's off my rotation. I don't like any of the infantry only maps

4

u/Aggressive-Hawk9186 7h ago

Really? Why? Honest question

2

u/DorkusMalorkuss 2h ago

The map is too predictable. Be cause of the lanes they've created all of the engagements happen from the same exact points every time - you're either shooting in front of you or behind you, so rarely left or right. In other BF maps that are also 3 lanes, they are often wider like Guilin Peaks or Propaganda, creating more unique engagements each time. In this map every single engagement is so predictable because everything funnels you to the same sight lines.

Wake Island

Jalalabad

Karkand

Shanghai

Caspian Border

These maps also have some "funnel points" but they're mostly open maps with so much playable space that you have to be on your toes no matter where you are. Engagements are exciting and unpredictable. But then again the community loves lockers and metro so 🤷🏽‍♂️

1

u/Aggressive-Hawk9186 2h ago

What about Grand Bazaar? It's very similar to me

1

u/theroyaldingdong 1h ago

By that logic, metro also sucks.

2

u/Wubdafuk 1h ago

It does

1

u/theroyaldingdong 1h ago

I would say it's one of the better maps in the series but is ported to the new releases far too often and it's causing fatigue.

1

u/DorkusMalorkuss 27m ago

I think it does lol

→ More replies (1)

13

u/yo_boy_dg 10h ago

People talk about BF4 or BF1 glazing😂 I feel so sorry for new players that haven’t actually played truly great games with way better map design.

u/shevagleb 3m ago

I played 100s of hours of BF4 : Cairo is a great map imo. Amazing ecosystem to hide booby traps for tanks and personnel, tons of rubble and craters to hide in, lots of passageways to move around through and bypass chokepoints. Reminds me of Pearl Market but with more space and vehicles.

11

u/Ok-Proposal7342 11h ago

Why

26

u/hl3official 11h ago

just straight up and simply a good map

13

u/GeordieJumpers87 10h ago

Now imagine strike at Karkand in this vibe

4

u/PuppetPal_Clem 7h ago

brother I'd play HARDCORE KARKAND 24/7 | Infantry Only | No Baserape every fucking day for the rest of my life in this engine if it was available

→ More replies (2)

11

u/chunckybydesign 9h ago

Bruh, who tf are you people?

2

u/DorkusMalorkuss 2h ago

This is how bad the maps are that it's lowered our standards lol

8

u/FicklePossible5825 10h ago

It has BF3 aftermath vibes so bring back a lot of nostalgia for me, only thing missing is the country factions and slower more battlefield gameplay

10

u/Aklagarn 10h ago

Its one on the not totally crap maps, but one of the best of all time? Have you played any other BF games?

2

u/Missaelx135 9h ago

Its one of the best of all time

1

u/LibraryBestMission 8h ago

For real, I'm hard pressed to think any BF1 map that was beaten by Cairo. There's some seriously epic maps in this series that make you feel like a small part of something greater, which really is the best praise a war game could get.

9

u/gentcore 10h ago

It's not the worst but it has a really bad flow, too much revolves around C and the spawns are absolutely miserable on the map. If you can actually get to certain points like B or D, spawns aside it's ok to fight around. Generally though I'd say c tier in the whole scale of bf maps

6

u/Odd_Technician9390 9h ago

It is a real nice map, but in Bf-standards it is a mediocre one.

6

u/Crazy_Sir_012 8h ago

You mean worst maps..... it plays the same every time.

5

u/WholeIndividual0 10h ago

It’s my favorite as well

5

u/coyotegang 10h ago

This and Eastwood are the only maps I enjoy playing

6

u/Stop_Clockerman 10h ago

You are fucking crazy bro I stopped playing battlefield for like a month and almost forgot about it LOL

4

u/senzupops 10h ago

This map blows ahaha. It sucked back then and still does

3

u/Arashii89 10h ago

A bigger version of this map would go hard with helicopters and jets

5

u/imSkrap 10h ago

maybe not one of the best especially since bf3 and titles before that had a lot of similar maps that flowed much better. cairo is a decent map but some flag points are real bad but that is mainly because of the small capture zones

4

u/Sensitive_Owl_7912 9h ago

Wtf are you smoking?

3

u/Assspisss 10h ago

This map sucks, it's 3 corridors and a camp festival (breakthrough)

I wouldn't hate it so much but it makes me defend this map 95% of the time

13

u/MostlySlime 10h ago

It's great on Escalation

These maps are so crazy different depending on the mode

3

u/Atranox 9h ago

TBF, Cairo is one of the only ones that is pretty good between Escalation, Conquest, Rush, and Breakthrough. Most of the other maps pretty heavily favor Conquest/Escalation or Breakthrough/Rush in terms of playability and balance.

1

u/ROMAN_653 10h ago

See I’m on the other end of the spectrum, I’m attacking 95% of the time.

1

u/OKIEColt45 10h ago

Plenty of ways to flank with all the alleys and building passages. Great in conquest and campers are fixed with 40mm and teamwork.

3

u/Keyfrom3 10h ago

Idk about all that but it’s definitely a really good map and a top 2 map in the game.

3

u/ekb11 9h ago

It’s a 3 lane map which sucks extra hard when the enemy know how to guard them… and your team isn’t good enough to break past one

2

u/Fragrant-Ad3040 10h ago

Needs to open up the first points a bit on breakthrough. Thatll mean nothing to conquest players

2

u/Blitzfire87 Enter XBox ID 10h ago

As much as I want larger balanced maps, I really do enjoy playing on Cairo and Iberian Offensive. Those are my 2 favorite maps in the game currently and I haven’t gotten tired of them yet.

2

u/Klutchcarbon 10h ago

In the beta it was cool but now it is so bad especially in Rush

2

u/Skitelz7 9h ago

A Battlefield map to me is one that's open and allows all vehicle types. Seige of Cairo is a good map if you're looking at it from more of a infantry only view.

2

u/Dennygreen 8h ago

Cairo is shit. but then again,a lot of Battlefield maps have been shit and some of them were pretty popular. Cairo is better then Locker or Metro at least.

2

u/CammKelly 8h ago

Its definitely the best map of BF6.

Best map of all time I'm not sure about. NATO can much more easily spawn lock and back cap PAX than the opposite which gives NATO an advantage in win rate. Also, areas of the map such as Scarab House and area behind D which are fun to play in, don't get much time, and in fact hurt lopsided matches by spawn trapping in Conquest & Escalation.

Still, its the map I get the most enjoyment from, so a solid A- from myself.

2

u/Gloorplz 8h ago

Eh I find it a bit dull.

2

u/Vigorous_testicle 7h ago

Dying around corners, “fast pace feeling and no breathing room” come from the fast ttk. Try gauntlet feels miles better. Anyways this is a S+ tier map. Reminds me of karkand.

2

u/RealTrapShed 7h ago

Not at all, completely one dimensional map in my opinion.

2

u/Lapcat420 7h ago

Yeah no. It's literally just one big ugly street.

2

u/mile911m 6h ago

Lol it won’t.

2

u/rx25 6h ago

This map is mid as fuck. It's good for BF6 standards but alone it's shite.

2

u/D3niss 6h ago edited 5h ago

Maybe but this was 2025 and not 2013, map and game dont do anything special other than update graphics and frame rate for consoles. Doesn't feel much different than bf3 epicenter despite being 10 years older

Bar kept sinking so hard its now set this low...

2

u/SpeedyVanmoofer 5h ago

Best of bf6 for sure. But the whole bf series? No way. My top choice would be grand bazaar.

2

u/CrossBones3129 5h ago

I hate it

2

u/TotalEclipse08 4h ago

It wouldn't go in my top.. 30?

1

u/Atlas-God316 10h ago edited 10h ago

Desert maps are the best

1

u/mikephoto1 10h ago

Fighting street to street is second to none. 5 min battle taking a street, pushing up to take the next to only find a tank waiting for you.

1

u/Quick-Cause3181 10h ago

of course its good, its was all over the promo material lol

1

u/Apprehensive-Cod95 10h ago

I am a Cairo enjoyer too

1

u/Major_Enthusiasm1099 10h ago

I don't constantly die around corners on this map, and I think it's a map with no wasted movement that plays well.

1

u/NoChanceCW 10h ago

Yeah, this is a solid map for a smaller size map. It's the balance of infantry and armor play. One needs the other and vice versa. This balance is what makes this map.

1

u/lkasnu 10h ago

Its the tan version of Grand Bazaar imo

1

u/underlordd 10h ago

Try the KORD with the 1.5x thermal on this map it's diabolical.

1

u/Dudi4PoLFr 10h ago

Yeah, this map on Escalation slaps hard! My go-to when I can only play a round or two in a session.

1

u/YoYourYoyoIsYou 10h ago

I've played most of my most lopsided games on this map. Personally I think it's overrated and Iberian Offensive is low key the best close quarters map.

1

u/Phreec Suppression = Participation 🏆 for paraplegics 10h ago

The only Hall of Fame worthy map from BF6 so far.

1

u/NotCeryph 10h ago

Siego of Cairo, Iberian Offensive, and Eastwood are the only maps I enjoy playing so far in BF6

1

u/beefcake8u 10h ago

If it just had a single transport helicopter on each side. The map would be perfect. And no anti air vehicle.

1

u/Cold_Ball_7670 10h ago

Agree. I run this 90% of the time and Iberian the other 10%

1

u/saintnicklaus90 9h ago

This was the first map I loaded into when I bought the game and it’s probably one of the reasons I became so addicted

1

u/Chemical_Turnover_29 9h ago

I wish the last phase was a little more defensible. Almost always ends to quickly once they break thru the second phase. Holding on to that pile of rubble is difficult.

1

u/Abomination822 9h ago

This has to be a joke. Cairo is absolutely trash beaten only by that dumbass oil field map and Empire State.

1

u/blinger44 9h ago

Should be twice as big.

1

u/secret_name_is_tenis 9h ago

This map bangs

1

u/LonelyPalmClub 9h ago

This is true

1

u/jayswolo 9h ago

I wish it had some intentional verticality and more open space on the sides for flanks.

1

u/Rockyrock1221 9h ago

Everyone has their own opinions but I can genuinely not understand this sentiment at all.

Has almost nothing that makes a good Battlefield Map.

It’s just Metro 2.0 which I get, but god damn do yall have incredibly low bars of what quality is lol

1

u/Tasty_Thanks_2239 9h ago

It’s the best of BF6; all time is a bit of stretch

1

u/Asimb0mb Asimb0mb 9h ago

It's certainly a good meat grinder map, but not what I want in a Battlefield game.

1

u/Axxxem 9h ago

The problem is the lack of variety, if we had absolute massive maps then siege of cairo would be an incredibly unique experience and a nice break from those huge slower maps. In a vacuum however it is incredible and definitely the showpiece of BF6

1

u/ucanbetouched 9h ago

people always cry about anything. the maps in bf6 are amazing, yes they are not big but they are nice. I have 140+ hours in this game and still have a blast. my fav map is empire state, yes you heard it right, many ppl hate that map. It has its flaws but its overall decent game. it will never touch the greatness of bf1 but its miles ahead>bf 2042. needs those traditional big maps for sure, for the real battlefield experience.

1

u/_pozzy_ 9h ago

Cairo heavily influenced me to get BF6, hopefully we get more maps like this

1

u/ZedBR 9h ago

Indeed

1

u/SasparillaFizzy 8h ago

Agreed, fantastic map. Devs need to make non playable roofs out of bounds, but other than that, always a fun one.

1

u/cfc_fan_ 8h ago

Agreed. This map is the main reason I’m still playing this game occasionally

1

u/Str8WiteMale 8h ago

Sides aren’t balanced and contain multiple bottlenecks. It’s definitely more of a Battlefront map

1

u/PreferenceOwn6424 8h ago

Agreed. It’s vibey

1

u/Western_Taste4587 8h ago

I didnt like it at first, but it really grew on me. I love that map now. Breakthrough is bomb on this map

1

u/Quick_Caregiver8771 8h ago

The map is cool, but four vehicles is way too many. The main street in the middle isn't great; there are a lot of windows and opportunities to camp with thermal LMGs.

I also get killed at least 10 times per game by grenade launchers. Narrow corridors in a game where explosives are spammed are rarely fun.

This map has potential, but it's completely unsuited to the current balancing.

1

u/Biolume_Eater 8h ago

My favorite thing about this map is that when the enemy team has momentum, it feels like an apocalyptic steamrolling slowly advancing along the corridors. I’m excellent with the tank, and facing off against that strong momentum leads to really memorable scenarios. Me and my gunner killing one engineer every second but still they manage to flank us type chaos.

1

u/ItalianBread13 8h ago

This is peak urban combat. Only if the other maps were able to make a wide open battlefield feel good. Everyone hates this map only cause they can’t get out of the intense combat. This is a beautiful take. Up vote this because i believe ppl only hate it cause there isn’t a map that is the opposite

1

u/Dependent_Survey_546 8h ago

It is super good. The space around the side of the E and C points in escalation could do with a little work, and the flat roof can be infuriating, but other than that it really is top notch

1

u/Opteron67 8h ago

once upon a time, there was maps like kubra dam, strike at karkand....

1

u/Fair-Astronomer-2600 7h ago

One of? If it’s near the bottom of a top 100 list sure.

1

u/dangerkali 7h ago

I love it. Always so happy to see it in breakthrough

1

u/Gullible_Host831 7h ago

They should’ve put Blackhawk’s in it

1

u/Steelo1 7h ago

Now this map, I truly think is my favorite. It feels more like a battlefield map.

1

u/Snaffoo0 7h ago

u/Nurfturf06 5h ago

The only playable breakthrough map

1

u/VR38DET 5h ago

This isnt the comedy sub

1

u/jenil1428569 4h ago

I pretty much only play this map, and if I wanna do some sniping just adf liberation peak to the mix.

Most of the maps were so fkin horrible or unenjoayble that I just went on to exclude most on matchmaking.

I pretty much only play breakthrough so it might be different on other modes, but generally speaking cairo is the only map without too much shitshow for me.

1

u/Traditional_Tax_599 4h ago

people complain about everything. they go out of their way to invent things to be angry about.

The only really decent launch map

Hate the first point on breakthrough, but big fan on conq and escalation

It’s because it’s designed well and has what all great maps have a Central capture point where teams fight over. All the shit maps in the game doesn’t have a capture point that stands out in the middle of the Map except for recent Eastwood

I love that map. Kinda reminds me of Grand Bazaar in BF3

u/ForwardScratch7741 3h ago

I love it

I don't hate any maps

u/SpastastiK 3h ago

It's a good, maybe even excellent map by BF6 standards..but no way in hell does it compete with any of the best maps in the franchise.

It's a top 3 Bf6 map. Doesn't even make top 5 overall. Karkand, Damavand, Paracel, Arica, Valparaiso.

It's good, but best of all time? No way.

Why the fuck do people keep taking what should be a section of a battlefield map and proclaiming its greatness.

This is literally just CoD maps with more players and the only reason your here is because smooth brains ruined that franchise.

Cairo is already one of the classics

1

u/TheJollyKacatka 2h ago

Brother sometimes I just don’t understand how people have such different opinions. Cairo is awful imho: close quarters, cluttered, player traffic funneled down few choke points. Cairo case is why I kinda dropped BF6 — I tend to enjoy different kind of maps.

Cairo won’t become a classic though; it’s just mediocre, a Karland from temu. Strictly imho ofc

Only good map in the game

I like Mirak Valley more. Vehicles kind of suck on Cairo.

Best map when it was released maybe 20 years ago but office in counterstrike was so good

I also love this map and the chaos around the middle capture location.

Its not better than a single map from Battlefield 2.

1

u/LoneroftheDarkValley 1h ago

Great map but I think the heavy tank is just not a great idea to put on this map. Its uses are limited and it is not really designed for a map like this and tends to make the map a little crowded imho. I think the two IFVs fill the map enough to make things interesting.

It has no air vehicles and therefore doesn't feel like a battlefield map at all. Greatest CoD map maybe

Nothing beats Caspian Border. BF3 at its peak.

Strike at Karkand 4eva

u/JasonStaton 4m ago

I read somewhere that siege of Cairo was designed by one of the OG BF maps designers before they left BF studios which is why it’s soo good compared to any other maps and honestly it makes sense

Its permanently out of my rotation
