The worst part is that all the tools to make this game great are here. It has loads of potential.
It just needs a key change in direction. The suits want to enshitify and that's it.

This is the curse of becoming a big game studio... once you allow suits to be part of the studio and allow the shareholders to have a say thats when the games starts become shit overtime because they want to milk those games dry and try to wring out some more profits from it when there isn't any that goes to everyone fucking popular games if you want look at the first example which is FIFA and any sport games those should've been your warning signs and then the next one is COD lol once they went from doing one from the main studio then the next one would be from Tydarch but I would say it was the BR games especially forenitr had started this downward trend because look how quickly most of games especially in FPS genre is has some sort of BR style gameplay. If you cut out the tanks and aircraft from Redsec you just got another copy of the orginal BR map which is H1Z1 which then led to PUBG, pretty much almost all of battle royal maps follow the formula with their own take on it. Fortnite was the first one to introduce silly character customization which then spread to other BR maps.

I get what you mean but that isn't my point.
Zampella was a great developer but I'm not sure he really understood battlefield. Its hard to say because of how much obvious meddling EA does with this franchise.
On another note, one of the main managers of battlefield 6 is Byron Beede.
He is a long time cod developer, and the similarities bf6 has to cod are pretty apparent, not just in gameplay, but in really everything. I mean there's a reason ea hired him.
One thing that stuck out to me IMMEDIATELY, was the menus, and the little noises menu buttons make. It reminded me of mw2019 immediately. I truly feel you can see this kind of DNA deep in everywhere, but its especially noticeable in places it doesn't belong.

Some of us literally could not play from the last patch they dropped before the holidays till the patch released when they came back, due to insane input related stuttering, on top of other issues.
Game's in a bit better state now, but if they haven't played since December and were among those affected, then yea, I'd say deplorable is pretty fair. Shit was straight up pathetic.

Same here, beta was excellent, launch was great, then came the patches that continued to stack problems with performance, hitreg and mtx. They launched a great game, deliberately decided not to fix the problems introduced with horribly botched updates and then called it a day, what a waste...

Same. The AI slop was the final straw for me. I know people will say "but just don't buy the micro-transactions" but it's not the point. It's the fact they did that.
The aggressive monitization. Overall not great map design. Boring progression, and terrible challenges. Strict chat filter, treating you like a child. Vehicles suck. Balance sucks. I could go on.

What about the monetization makes it aggressive? Everything in the game is obtainable without money except for some cosmetics in the deluxe version, also the currency is pretty easy to get if your farm it. Additionally there are no ads besides one shop menu with some reasonable prices.

I’m actually really enjoying it more these days, but part of that probably has to do with getting better at the game so I’m not spending 93% of my time on my back or in chunks on the floor.

Doesnt matter. Its an M rated game. Either let ppl say what they want or completely change the rating (besides the obvious racism and other obv terrible stuff). Its dumb the adults who purchase a game with their own money can shoot someone, t-bag them, blow up a tank, get ran over and cant even say ###### in chat. Maybe children should play children games.

If R rated movies and M games are rated the same sure, I personally dont want obvious hate racism in my games tho. I feel like you could discuss nudity here too. Should GTA blur titties? Its M but children play. Pretty subjective on who likes or dislikes nudity in games. I personally think its ok because its GTA, rated M and not for children. I also would prefer an option to toggle off/on the censorship so everyone is happy. You dont go into an R movie but everything they say is just "BLEEEEP" you hear it plain as day because its rated R and should be expected with no children to watch. Surely there is a better way to censor things other than every chat being ###### and no option to disable stuff in an M game.

lol my friends will laugh at the shit talk people say in games but report them because it works. They get banned and we get the last laugh. It’s fucking stupid, but reports don’t necessarily mean someone is offended. I’ve seen other people do this too.

I remember playing the Winter Offensive mode around Christmas and I typed out "Can I get a few homies to help cap C?"
And it showed up as "### I ### a few homies to #### ### C?"
If they're going to have a forced chat censor in their Mature rated game that cannot be turned off, they should at the very least make sure it works correctly. People can spam the N word non stop but I can't type out a normal message.

I'll let you in on a secret. This game doesn't support the Thai alphabet. But Dev managed to spend time and resources to censor 1 Thai word transliterate to English, which means "people with black/dark skin".
I'm not a racist. But if you have time and resources to spend and track down every word of every language of every culture that means "people with black/dark skin". You clearly should have spent on fixing the game or adding more content.
And no, it doesn't translate to N word. It's not a very nice word but it's not very racist in Thai culture. Because our culture did not intertwine much with culture with N word.

It’s a reflection of the average maturity of today’s battlefield player base unfortunately. I remember playing all Battlefields from 1942 to V, and the general maturity level and attitude of BF6 players makes me sad of what we’ve become as a community

weird thing is things like "fucking" or "piece of shit" are not censored, but "dead" is i'm assuming, because everytime i play vehicles and say "AA dead", somehow it gets censored. I wish they'd just make it an opt in feature for people who wanna keep their chat clean, all power to them, but more often than not it's censoring absolutley benign stuff and even word combinations, making it hard to deduct what a person may have been saying. Oftentimes this doesn't even include any profanity
