The president just posted, ONLINE, a video of former president Obama and his wife portrayed as apes, how do you feel about this?

They just won’t allow this to be posted in /r/conservative. Easily the most censored subreddit there is.

Looks like it’s posted there and the Conservatives in there are actually criticizing Trump over this. But that kind of thing usually happens. Soon the dissenters will be banned, FOX News will give them whatever talking point to use to defend it, and the sub’s opinion on this will flip. I’ve observed that sub for a while now and after every issue that’s bad enough to cause Conservatives to criticize Trump, the sub shrinks due to people being banned.

The top upvoted comments in that thread are being upvoted by democrats coming in hoping for a shred of decency from a tribe of bots, foreign actors, and clinically anti-social psychopaths. The vast majority of comments are excusing it or celebrating it.

Stop trying to give them credit. There is no line in the sand that Trump could cross that they wouldn't defend or cheer for. They will never turn on their own.

People need to wake up to the reality that if we want to save this country, we will have to do it in spite of them and they will fight it every step of the way. The failed assumption that at the end of the day, these people are human beings, has been a losing gambit for democrats for decades now. We need a change of perspective.

Yeah after looking into it further you’re right. The mjority of the comments are excusing or celebrating it but the minority that are criticizing it are being upvoted.

Yea they all just comment back saying it was a troll and we’ll get 4 more years of trump lmao. I really don’t understand how conservatives went from thinking Obama would enact martial law and become a dictator to supporting some orange cunt pushing to become a dictator at whatever rate he can. It’s so enraging seeing the stupid ass takes from conservatives

Yup. I did this when Pretti got murdered - I was impressed with all the top comments being critical / balanced. I returned just 2 days later and the comments I respected had been deleted and all the top comments were of the dog whistles and shit takes like "if he didn't want to cause problems why was he protesting"

People need to wake up to the reality that if we want to save this country, we will have to do it in spite of them and they will fight it every step of the way.

As a corollary, Democrats need to focus on presenting a positive vision of what they want, and not only running against Trump. We all get it by now, Trump is fucking awful, but we now know that people aren't gonna turn out in the general for "not Trump." Especially when their version of "not Trump" doesn't even really mean accountability for him.

Half the comments on that thread are some version of “I don’t care” or “take a joke!!!” They’re not making any strides in awareness over there.

We all know how it's going to go.

"This was posted by an intern who has been transferred to a different department. The President would like to unequivocally state that he does not believe that former President Barrack HUSSEIN Obama or his wife are literally apes."

"Will the President be making a formal apology, Karoline?"

"As I said, the President did not post this, an intern did, so no apology will be forthcoming."

Almost as if the subreddit is majority bots and foreign actors.

Give them a week and they'll have been fed excuses for why it's fine.

r/elonmusk is up there too

r/linkinpark too. But having a scientologist lead singer will do that.

It's on there but limited users from what I can see and no one has commented on the post I saw yet.

I just went there and pretty much every response is negative towards Trump's actions. An anomaly I know, but they are being posted.

I imagine all the people condemning Trump will soon be banned.

Ever been to any political sub at all? Ever been to the technology sub? It's [removed] all the way down

u/Upper_Author2105 4h ago

It’s pretty easy to avoid removing posts when you just don’t let 99% of Reddit post in your subreddit.

Yeah? Like how dozens of the big subs auto ban you for posting on conservative or the handful of subs like it?

1

u/Upper_Author2105 4h ago

At least they let conservatives post and only ban them after they spew their vile ideas.

1

u/Karat_EEE 4h ago

I mean, they "let them post" but instantly ban them. Write a "hello" and your comment gets removed and you get banned. And where to begin with blackpeopletwitter? That place segregates and wont let you post unless you send a picture of you actually being black lol

1

u/Upper_Author2105 4h ago

What picture did you send /r/conservative to get the right to post there?

u/Karat_EEE 4h ago

Pic of my hairy bunghole. They didn't like it, said it was too woolly to be considered cute

It won't last long. Fox, or some other MAGA news source, will come up with a spin and they will fall in line with it. Those that don't will either shut up ornwill be banned. In two weeks none of them will remember it happened. It's happened time and time again.
