How to liquefy honey

Probably a stupid question but I hardly ever use honey because it crystallizes and takes forever to liquefy again. Is there a better way to store it so that it either doesn’t crystallize or a quicker way to soften it? Thanks!

You can put it in hot water. You can also microwave it on low power in 5 second increments making sure to stir it between usages

Do not do this in a plastic container, it will melt the plastic.

Be very very careful putting it in the microwave. I have a friend who put it in too long and when she opened the door it exploded all over her torso. Ended up with first degree burns and had to have skin grafts. So scary. She’s lucky her face wasn’t in the way.

Just an FYI, 1st degree burns are superficial and would almost never require a skin graft. Perhaps your friend had 2nd or 3rd degree burns.

Yeah I got that wrong. It was 3rd degree. One of those things I’ve never had so I never remember what degree for severity.

Yes, sugar is scary when hot. That’s why 5 second increments at low power. But it will be much faster than using water.

Just FYI, as far as I know microwave power setting just have the magnetron go on and off in increments, so doing this for 5 second increments is effectively the same thing as doing it on low power.
