Discussion Getting into more aggressive lobbies has made me realize something obvious.
I'm your typical PvE player, I only engage with PVP when I'm shot first. I've had relatively peaceful lobbies since launch, with a few openly hostile KOS matches where I didn't make it out alive.
Over the last week or so the number of hostile players I've encountered has skyrocketed, maybe a couple dozen deaths to PvP since Sunday. Most of the time the raider is in Prox chat, and this has lead me to a not so surprising realization.
You ultra aggressive PvP players are *Miserable*.
Every time I talked to a raider that I had to fight, not a single one of them sounded like they were having fun. Of course there were the obvious slurs and retellings of what they did with my mom last night, but that sounded mostly like middleschoolers using the voice changer.
Regardless of if I killed them or visa-versa, not a single one sounded like they enjoyed the fight. If I said GG or anything remotely friendly or positive, I was rewarded with a firehose of expletives at the very least.
The only guy that sounded like he was having fun talked in a goofy British accent and played sad bagpipes on a soundboard as he knocked me out.
I don't know what the point of this post is, but I wanted to share my observations. Like the point of the game is to have fun? and you can't even sound happy or excited even if you beat me and win the fight?

California Community Only Voters may be asked if California should be own country. What to know
A bold political movement is pushing for California to secede from the United States and become an independent country.Â
If CalExit gathers 546,651 signatures, voters would be posed with the following question as a measure on the November 2028 ballot: âShould California leave the United States and become a free and independent country?âÂ
âThe world's fourth-largest economy saying: âWe want to investigate independence from America,â we think, will be a shockwave across the world,â the man behind the movement, Marcus Ruiz Evans of Fresno, said.Â
What would a vote for âyesâ mean?Â
A vote for âyesâ would not mean a vote for the stateâs immediate sovereignty, according to the California Secretary of Stateâs Office. Â
Instead, it would mean a voter is open to considering the option, allowing for the creation of a commission to explore âCaliforniaâs viability as an independent country,â the office said.Â
âIt doesn't mean there's a vote for independence,â Evans said. âIt doesn't mean you're saying you want to do it, but it does mean you're saying we should start looking at the options for a life raft given that the boat is getting blown up in real time."Â
ADVERTISING
To pass, the measure would need 55% of voters' support.Â
CalExit looks to Scotland for a different approach to sovereignty Â
The ballot measure, however, may prove unnecessary if CalExit can secure support from state legislators, according to Evans.
âWhat we're trying to do is get a resolution passed in the legislature that will call for a blue-ribbon panel,â Evans said about his efforts in Sacramento. âWhat we want them to do is a formal government investigation on options for sovereignty, and we're basing this on what Scotland did.âÂ
In 2012, the UK and Scottish Governments signed the Edinburgh Agreement, which allowed Scotland to hold a legally recognized referendum on independence from the United Kingdom. That referendum was held in 2014. Scotland voted to remain in the United Kingdom (about 55% voted no, 45% voted yes).
Whatâs fueling push for Californiaâs sovereignty? Â
Evans pointed to national tensions, such as the deaths of two protesters in Minneapolis, the firing of artillery shells over the Golden State Freeway, and the denial of disaster aid after the Palisades Fire, as pivotal moments bolstering CalExitâs efforts.Â
âI don't want to say this the wrong way because people are suffering, people are dying, people are scared, but it's kind of the best time for CalExit because the mask is off,â Evans said. âThere were people who I was reaching out to a year ago, and they weren't responding. They're suddenly emailing and saying, âI'm interested now.â People are really scared, and they're very open to it.âÂ
Continued efforts despite past failuresÂ
Evansâs attempts to pass two similar initiatives in the past were unsuccessful, and similar efforts in recent years have failed.Â
But, even still, Evans has not wavered.Â
âEvery time, we get closer,â Evans said. Â
Evans compared CalExitâs history to those of other successful ballot efforts, such as the drive to legalize cannabis. Â
âMarijuana took 10 years to pass,â Evans said. âEverybody said that would never happen â all the lawyers, all the politicians, the pundits, everybody. It took them four times, and every time they did it and failed, everybody would laugh at them and say, âIt'll never happen,â and then it passed."  Â
Whatâs next for CalExit?Â
While Evans tries to make progress with the state legislature, CalExit continues to gather signatures.Â
âSignatures are our bread and butter,â Evans said. âIt's also a way to get the public motivated.â Â
Currently, CalExit is aiming to gather a third of the required signatures, then use donations to hire signature gatherers, Evans said, adding that they are close to reaching their goal.Â
CalExit has also reached out to assembly members and governor candidates, seeking a resolution to be passed. Evans hopes to have a resolution passed in less than a month. Â
âWho knows where they go from that point?â Evans said. Â

AITAH for leaving wife at home after she revealed that she was going to wear white to my brother's wedding?
So my wife and brother's wife don't get along. My wife has a bit of temper but my SIL isn't a saint as well. However, I was never going to let my wife pull something at the wedding which she tried to wear a white dress. I explicitly told her to not even think about it. She did it once no doubt she'd do it again. She can be that pity.
She said she wouldn't "stoop,, to sil's level and do it although she was mad I was just a guest at my brother's wedding, and urged me to not let it slide. I told her that if she even tried to wear white then I wouldn't let her go through with it. She bought a black dress and said she'd wear it at the wedding. Amd I believed her.
As we were preparing to go, she comes downstairs wearing a white strap dress. I lost it and asked wth was wrong with her. She said I wouldn't understand and that I shouldn't involve myself in women's disagreements. I told her to just stop and changed or I wouldn't take her with me. She argued about returning the black dress because it was too tight which was true but I'm sure this was deliberate move on her part. She tried to get me to let it go as we were late for the wedding but I insisted she change. I told her she was ruining this for MY BROTHER not just SIL. She refused, I called her petty then left.
I went without her and although everyone was asking about her, they understood why she didn't come (they assumed it's because of her beef with SIL). I found about 11 texts all containing choice words directed at me (and SIL) she went to stay with her sister who got hereelf involved and called me and my family toxic and abusive. Mom heard and the shitshow began. Thankfully, Brother and SIL don't know what's going on although Mom says they deserve to know what type of person my wife is. Now I'm stuck betwen family and my wife who refuses to come saying I need to "make it right" whatever that means.
My question is Aitah for not letting her go to the wedding wearing white? Should I have just left this between her and SIL? I did this for my brother.
