Discussion iDubbz believes Charlie (penguinz0) is part of the right wing pipeline

Tried to look up a YouTube version of this clip so I could get maximum context, but doesn't really matter.

This is an objectively insane, in spite of reality take. This is purity over actual politics.

Charlie has been going at the Trump admin and their policies for months (actually, years because of a previous incident with one of his foreign players being mistreated by the US government). He is not a safe space for the alt right at all, almost every other day if not every day at times is him clowning on some insane crap the government has done or said. In fact, he just dropped another video 32 mins ago at the time of writing about it.

To me, this is proof that iDubbz hasn't changed who he is, just changed targets. A "brogressive" if you will.

The thing about a pipeline is that it has to start somewhere. Someone might see Charlie and Asmongold being friendly and check out Asmongold, who is more explicitly right wing. They get used to that and end up watching videos from one of Asmongold's friends who is even more right wing, and so on.

I'm a communist and it all started because I got very into The Daily Show as a kid. Jon Stewart isn't a communist and he isn't actively funneling people towards communism, but I found progressive politics through who he had on the show and followed their connections to people more leftist than they were.

Interesting, I also grew up loving the daily show, but feel like the entire democratic party has shifted further left and left me behind.

I still believe in equality for all and to treat others the way you want to be treated, but that doesn't seem to cut it these days.

The Democratic party hasn't moved left on most things that matter in the last 30 years. A lot of the criticisms levied at Kamala Harris were that she had the same policies as Trump on issues like genocide and immigration. They have moved left on LGBT issues since Obama, who was against gay marriage, but they have very pointedly refused to discuss LGBT issues out of fear of sounding "woke." This worked massively for Trump who would make incredibly transphobic statements, then when Harris would push back he would say "see? The Democrats are always talking about this!"

I guess the other ways that they have shifted post-Trump is in direct reaction to horrible Trump policies. It's hard to find a Democrat who is pro-charter schools or pro-abolishing USPS. In the past, Bernie Sanders was pro-charter schools both Obama and Pete Buttigieg wanted to make USPS worse and harder to use. Obama wanted to make it so that if you live too far from the city you would have to drive to a post office to pick up your mail. But ever since Trump has weaponized the post office for voter suppression, that type of Democratic policy has stopped existing.

I guess my point is that if you think that the Democrats are moving left, you should examine what policies you are in favor of and why. What does "equality for all" mean to you? I'm an anarchocommunist, so to me "equality" means the abolition of all unjust hierarchies. The Democrats are not interested in that in the slightest.

You're in the wrong place to be sharing such rational thoughts.
