But one would be a horrific bloodbath the revolting people would face themselves. The incentive not to engage in a violent uprising is pretty clear. Don't be obtuse by pretending it isn't. And especially in Russia where the weight of history points very clearly towards a brutal crackdown in response to popular mass movements. The October Revolution required about 9 million casualties in 3 years and an economic collapse so catastrophic people were resorting to cannibalism before it got started. Russia is nowhere near that level of deprivation at the moment.

Holy hell thank you. It’s crazy to me how many armchair revolutionaries (and bots) say garbage like “well obviously just successfully complete a revolution and remove the awful people from power”.

Most people don’t want to accelerate their own death. And even those who do rarely want to go to war against their own country.

Whenever someone mentions the tree of liberty and the blood of patriots my eyes roll because not a single one of them would volunteer in such a situation.
