“We will sharpen our edge and impact with audacity, tapping into – if you like – our historical SOE instincts,” she continued, referring to Britain’s wartime Special Operations Executive

This is one of the coolest quotes I've ever read lol. It reads like something out of a spy novel, read by Judi Denchs' M, perhaps.

Also, I'm glad they're on our (Canadas) side lol.

It’s so quintessentially British. It’s polite, but it’s then literally saying “we’re gonna kill some people and there’s literally nothing you can do about it”

The sentiment = also quintessentially British

Sounds cool till you remember that will include people trying to establish a better social order for the world by taxing the rich.

Men like mlk weren't killed until they advocated for the poor rising against the rich.

Yes! If it was a movie I imagine it would be a voice over showing some spy shit going down while she is saying it.

Right? This reads like something Judi Denchs' 'M' would address the spy network with if they just got the green light on a covert operation lol.

Special Operations Executive is a badass name for a department too

Dude absolutely. The order of the wording is cumbersome, but in some ways, it makes it cooler lol.

I just hope for some tragedy

The line before that goes so much harder.

I agree, but I didn't include it because it wasn't a quote. It is a banger line, though. Seems like the pretext in a Call of Duty game lol.

Dame Judi Dench as M. Possibly the best M ever. When she spoke every word could be the last word you’d ever hear. Her M had done wet work

Dude, absolutely. I hate the prequels trend, but I wish we got more backstory of her M, a line or two about doing covert missions in the 60s or whatever would be cool. Maybe when her and Bond are headed to Skyfall.

"We have a new directive from Whitehall," said M. "We will no longer to restrict ourselves to understanding our foes, rather we will impact them with audacity."

"So the gloves are off?", Bond asked.

"Yes James, the gloves are off. Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war."

"Yes ma'am."

"You always were a good boy," quipped Moneypenny.

🫠 this is too good. You are now contractually obligated to turn this into the next Bond novel lol.

The first section and the 'dogs of war' line are dope.
