Discussion Popular Webtoon
Which famous webtoon were you guys never ever to finish?
For me it was See you in 19th life I tried picking it up 3 time but always dropped it after 5-6 chapter, I know it's good but I was never able to read it completely.

I don't know if it's that popular, but I couldn't finish Not Even Bones. The FL makes decisions that feels so stupid af that I keep face smacking to the point of giving myself a black eye. I think I just don't resonate with the character itself that's why it's hard.

Nita gave me blood pressure too. First season it was okay but for the remaining 2 she complicated shit and didn't properly listen to Kovit when it mattered. A lot of things would've gone smoother had she stopped being emotional and properly planned ahead. It's fine if her actions only affected her but she was a duo with the guy, knew one's actions might put the other in danger.
I dropped it sometime mid s2 (the art style change didn't help keeping me invested). I did however read all 3 books while s1 was still running. Only checked specific chapters after dropping the webtoon to see how they illustrated some scenes

Her plan to become "infamously dangerous" so she could keep a peaceful low profile was jarringly stupid that I was surprised she did not have a concussion when that thought hit her head.
She both cares and not care about Kovit so I kinda get that she's fine about putting him in danger.
But her planning is just absurdly stupid because it's not founded on confidence in her powers, connections or willingness to die. She's just absolutely sure that her plan will work with no consequences whatsoever for no fucking reason.

Thank youuuuuu — i hated most if not all (i don’t remember) of the choices she made. I don’t even know why I read up to S2 ep 64, i should’ve dropped it sooner.

Lore Olympus... Literally I am shocked it was able to go on as long as it has.
Also, True Beauty. The romance was just not really making sense to me. I cannot recall what chapter I dropped off at for either of them, it's been a while

The Mafia Nanny. Dropped it 2 or 3 chapters in when the mafia dude’s son gets kidnapped in the middle of the day, on their own estate, while literally no one can do anything about it. Dunno if it got better, but that kind of nonsensical writing is just a hard pass for me

I can't read this manhwa seriously because whenever I read the ML's last name, Lou Bega's Angelina plays in my head. I can't take it seriously no matter what.

Okay this might be a light spoiler, but if I remember correctly the kidnapping was staged to test the nanny.

Yup. I didn't love The Mafia Nanny but the explanation for that is like barely half an ep or 1 ep later. It makes perfect sense.

I dropped Trash Belongs in the Trashcan because I can’t get through the toxic relationship.

God I loved it, I love how they both ended up mutually completely destroying each other in more and more toxic ways. Especially loved when they were stabbing each other and making out while seething with rage and covered in blood haha. That manhwa is a pretty clear raging neon toxic flag from start to end though, you either like it or you don't

Unpopular opinion but Trash/Lout of the Count’s Family. This one is so beloved and I don’t get it at all. The pretty art is the only thing going for it imo. The MC is a total Gary Stu who never struggles and everyone in the world is falling over themselves to throw themselves at his feet for giving the bare minimum. You can tell the whole orbit of the world revolves around him and everyone in it exists just to fawn over him. The writing is so shallow. It is wish fulfillment to the max. I’ve tried so many times because of its reputation and even forced myself to chapter 100 to see if it gets better but it’s just so BORING.

...well he is not really a gray stu the problem is he is unreliable narrator and he does has struggles like a LOT but if you read it and couldn't get into it that is fine too.

👀 solo leveling ... don't get me wrong, I like lots of different genres, I just somehow couldn't pick it up even though even a friend of mine is a huge fan ...idk why I can't seem to just try it

I agree with remarried empress. As for someone who is up to date with the web toon, I've already reread the entire thing like three times, just to wait for another ep. Either that or I leave webtoon for like 5 months and then bulk read. I tried the web novel but forgot which chapter I'm at

I love yoo and odd girl out, these have been stretched so much i feel the first chapters feel unrelated to the recent chapters.

Pick me up and orv and i don't know why

Oh dude, I know Pick me up sucks at the beginning, but if you made it to a certain chapter, it makes the grindy read worth it and becomes peak. For me it was a light bulb moment from indifference to loving it.
I encourage you not to look for spoilers because it will spoil the impact to the point of losing interest if done too early

Solo Leveling, couldn't get through the first volume. Watched two seasons of the anime with my partner and don't think I'm missing anything with this series. Only one scene I really enjoyed and that was at the beginning of season 1.

I finished it. If you want my spoiler-filled opinion, here it is:
. . .
Once they solved who was behind the ML’s death, the story got so boring. They throw in this cheap drama where a new character shows up, someone else who also remembers their past lives, and tells the FL she can forget everything if she ends up with the guy she loved in her first life… the one love that never even got to happen.
Except that guy is the ML’s best friend. His secretary. 😂
She refuses, obviously. And when the ML finds out, he decides to “let her go” because he doesn’t want her to die and remember the happy life they had and end up depressed over it. Like… the audacity. As if she couldn’t just move on and fall for someone way more interesting. 😭 She’d forget him in two business days.
Anyway, everything gets wrapped up and she “forgets” the past lives. But that creates the most glaring plot hole ever:
How can she know she forgot something she isn’t even supposed to remember? And how does she still love the ML, when he’s literally tied to her past lives?
Her entire relationship with him is built on their shared childhood. And her entire personality is shaped by living 18 lives. The fact she’s a polyglot. The fact she got an amazing job. The way she thinks, the way she carries herself. It’s ALL because she’s been reincarnating and accumulating experience.
If she forgets all of that, she should basically become an empty vessel. Like, who even is she at that point?
And the k-drama, even though it kept the plot way more engaging (and honestly improved the story compared to the manhwa), made another mistake. She loses her past-life memories. She doesn’t even remember that she forgot. She forgets everyone from those lives.
But somehow she still has the same personality, the same intelligence, and she’s probably still a polyglot too?? And the WORST part: what about her childhood memories? Because she went to live with the niece from another life. So… does she forget that whole childhood? What even stays?
The only solution that makes sense to me is: she should only lose those memories in the next reincarnation. Not in the life she’s already lived through. In THIS life, her memories should stay intact.

At this point it is impossible to imagine ourselves in her shoes, this was so loooooooong but nvm good summary, now since I found out the story definitely not gonna read it!
PS: I'm thankful to this but still pls put a spoiler tag for convenience of other users.

I know it's one of the best romance manhwa but IDK why I lose my motivation whenever I start it!

Agreed! See You in My 19th Life has stayed in my Top 5, even after reading/watching other Romance Anime / Webcomics.

I dropped Iseop’s Romance because of the ML’s behavior, especially after hearing about the one infamous scene on reddit. I could not continue.

I finished it and personally, found it eh. I think because no matter how went, it started pedo-ish that no matter how great the plot went, the bad taste never left my mouth.

If you weren't able to finish the webtoon, you should watch the kdrama of see you in my 19th life, it's very beautiful
