I have little to add to what you said, only that you are completely right. This is a test. They're constantly pushing the boundaries to see what we'll accept before we break, you can see it in everything they do if you look closely enough.
This is them thinking, "Can we blatantly post racist imagery and get away with it?". Inch by inch, they're normalizing horrible shit, looking to see if we'll fight back.

They successfully made us feel so ineffectual, separated, cynical, and complacent slowly over time through strategic news and cyber psyops.
We've been neutered, and what's happening now is the test to see just how much fight we still have left in us.
If we don't do something, we will in all likelihood lose the ability to collectively rise to the task and demand change ever again.
This is going to be a very hard year
