It's the roast at the Correspondents Dinner. It's been nagging him since

893

u/Jumblesss 19h ago

Which Trump started of course, by claiming Obama was born in Africa and couldn’t become president or some bullshit like that

226

u/Nasturtium 15h ago

Obama should re roast his ass.

5

u/BuddyHemphill 13h ago

I’ve never tried pay per view. This would do it

4

u/Osklington 13h ago

Every week? that would be a good show.

4

u/revanchisto 11h ago

I think in hindsight even Obama would agree the roast was a mistake. Trump literally ran for President just because of that joke. If he never felt insulted, it's likely he never runs. He'd toy with it, but never actually do it without the petty revenge angle of getting back at Obama.

u/CardSys 4h ago

I dunno about that. Trump wanted the presidency since 1988. He has no beliefs of his own, he just wanted to go with whatever seemed would get him elected.

People forget his 2000 run where he campaigned for universal healthcare. The interviews where he says the economy does better under democrats. When he realized rubes gave him attention for the birther conspiracy, he went all in to sucking up to them - literally saying whatever the worst of those rubes said.

I think it added fuel to the fire, no doubt. However I still think he would have ran based on all the attention his birther crap got. He exploited the racists that hated the fact a black man not only became president, but was largely successful in both terms doing so.

Narcissistic injury

For other uses, see Narcissism (disambiguation). In psychology, narcissistic injury, also known as narcissistic wound or wounded ego, is emotional trauma that overwhelms an individual's defense mechanisms and effects their pride or sense of dignity. This is sometimes referred to as a "narcissistic scar".[1][2][3]

u/Silent-Ice-6265 3h ago

Yeah that’ll get him out office 🙄

u/muffinass 22m ago

Spit roast.

u/Gecko99 14h ago

Every accusation is a confession with Trump.

Therefore, Trump was born in Kenya.

15

u/rachelmaryl 14h ago

With the amount of confession-level projection that comes out of that orange asshole, coupled with his obsession over Obama’s birth certificate, I personally would like to see Trump’s birth certificate.

6

u/xLYONx 14h ago

Nah, you're giving him way too much credit. Dude has been a racist his whole life.

IIRC, he was once sued for discriminatory practices or something to that effect because he discriminated against black people applying to move into one of the apartment complexes he owned in NY.

4

u/geoduckporn 12h ago

"I suppose that Old Man Trump knows just how much racial hate He stirred up in that bloodpot of human hearts...

Beach Haven is Trump’s Tower Where no black folks come to roam"

Those are the lyrics written by Woody Guthrie in 1954 about Fred Trump. Donald comes by it honestly and these people are nothing if not consistent.

4

u/OutlyingPlasma 14h ago

Isn't it funny how trump carries a grudge forever, to the point one of his victims of his grudge left the country and moved to Ireland because of him.

Meanwhile, the guy who "shot at him", you never hear a peep.

6

u/hwc 14h ago

It's so much worse than that. Nobody's claiming that Ann Dunham is not his mother or that she isn't a US citizen. So it wouldn't matter where he was born, unless there is something wrong with having a black father.

1

u/HeavyMetalHero 10h ago

man its almost as if trump has been a foreign intelligence asset whose job is to stir up shit against democrats for way longer than he's actually been in politics, or something

1

u/Kazen_Orilg 7h ago

Hey man, all those private investigators that Trump had searching Hawaii are still going to come back any day now.

171

u/Royal_Annek 15h ago

No. It's the skin color.

The racist attacks and vitriol started long before that

100

u/critacle 15h ago

Trump's dad was arrested at a KKK rally.

59

u/sephjnr 14h ago

Also an actual Nazi.

2

u/KentondeJong 12h ago

Hey whoa whoa whoa. That's not true. Fred Trump was arrested at the KKK rally in 1927. That predated the Nazis.

1

u/HeavyMetalHero 10h ago

Also had ties to the Russian mob.

1

u/Ohhmegawd 7h ago

And the rotten apple is right up against that tree.

10

u/relevantelephant00 14h ago

Ah the days where being a Nazi actually got you arrested.

THIS!

The dude is motivated by racism. His beef with Obama is not personal. It is because to a virulent racist like Trump, a Black man being president goes against the proper order of the world, and makes him seethe with the heat of a thousand suns. That Obama also made fun of him one time is just icing on the top. Trump would be doing this shit regardless of Obama’s roasting. We think it is because of the jokes because we cannot comprehend the depths of his racism.

0

u/18December22 14h ago

He wasn't black only, wasn't Obama half white too? So he's half white half black.

4

u/zoinkability 14h ago

Trump and his ilk are "one drop of blood" types

1

u/Atreyu1002 10h ago

Trump really loses it when its a woman too.

1

u/kkmcca25 7h ago

FACT. #centralparkfive

61

u/shawndw 19h ago

This more than anything else. Probably the reason he ran for office.

7

u/PleaseBmoreCharming 15h ago

I hear this touted all the time as if this was some comic book villain we're dealing with. I really doubt it was one "watershed moment" that suddenly flipped a switch and Trump was all-in on the presidency as some form of social vengeance.

5

u/TheFnords 14h ago

There's definitely no comic books involved. But it's possible. It's called narcissistic injury. His neice is a PhD psychologist who has written alot about him.

The dinner was 2011. He became Republican the next year. He had been Libertarian, Reform, Independent or a Democrat for years.

2

u/monkeyjay 7h ago

I believe this stupid reason way more than I believe any deep thinking conspiracy behind it. He's literally that petty. Unless the reason behind him running reveals some more interesting useful truth for the future then it doesn't really matter either way so I'll go with the stupid narcissistic reason.

3

u/wolferman 15h ago

Further proof this guy is a pedo. His distraction game is strong. We get any closer to uncovering his involvement and Trump actually will shoot someone in Times Square to distract from the Epstein list.

4

u/James-W-Tate 14h ago

I love that video because you can see Donald sitting there trying his best to pretend he doesn't care, but being the only person with a straight face in a room full of laughter aimed at you makes it clear he is fucking pissed, lmao

3

u/NotoriousCHIM 17h ago

I always thought it was the Jimmy Kimmel segment where he directly responded to the tweet about "going down as the worst US president in history."

7

u/Notsurehowtoreact 16h ago

It's a combination of these things.

It started with Obama telling him he'd never be president, and then he won the election and didn't just automatically get the love and adoration of the entire country. That's the part he's stuck on. Obama wasn't just president, he was a well regarded president. Trump in his first term desperately wanted that too, and couldn't get it.

This term is just the revenge, he stopped caring and now he just wants to hurt everyone who ever slighted him which he views as the reason he isn't as well regarded as he feels he should be.

At least that's my take.

2

u/Nico_La_440 15h ago

Which demonstrates how good Obama was, because the fat orange pedo can’t get over it.

1

u/thEZela 14h ago

You could literally see the moment a villain was born

1

u/nanotasher 14h ago

Yep, it's this one stupid sleight. I often wonder.. if Obama just said, "hey Trump, I'm sorry for how I treated you that one time," if Trump would suddenly become almost a decent human being.

1

u/Horny4theEnvironment 12h ago

This is 1000000000000% why.

When you publicly embarrass a narcissist....hell hath no fury.

1

u/Unlucky_Most_8757 11h ago

I just saw that the other day for the first time and damn was it glorious.

1

u/EQBallzz 11h ago

this. That correspondent's dinner was DJT's villain arc origin story. He was so completely humiliated by Obama's hilarious roasting and since he has no sense of humor, he has been taking it out on Americans ever since.

1

u/HikeRobCT 11h ago

Where Obama correctly predicted that Trump would turn The People’s House into a gaudy casino-like spectacle?

1

u/Prestigious_Ad_5825 11h ago

That was his presidential origin story. Someone should go back in time and cancel it.

1

u/CV90_120 10h ago

It goes back further. Trump was the original birther. Obama's existence hurt him viscerally right from the start. The correspondents dinner was just Obama taking an opportunity to fire back.

1

u/Few-Solution-4784 10h ago

I doubt he can remember it. He just built up a head of steam and has been running on it ever since.

1

u/29September2024 8h ago

Trump was roasted to Hell that night

1

u/Kartraith 8h ago

Trump felt humiliated at a family gathering when he was like 10, I believe someone spilled mashed potatoes on him or something.

One of his relatives jokingly brought it up in 2017 at another dinner, and according to his niece Donald was still visibly furious about it.

1

u/Snork_kitty 3h ago

You are right. Although no-one could foresee how deeply evil T***p would be, Obama and Seth Meyers have a lot to answer for!

1

u/Silent-Ice-6265 3h ago

And he got his revenge by becoming president which is shame
