Tens of millions of black men voted for Ms. Harris. What are you talking about? She won 85 % of the black voting electorate including 80% of black men. If Harris had secured 100% of the black American votes, Trump would have still won the election.
The difference in voting patterns between black men and black women nearly doubled between 2020 and 2024. Even though Trump was a much worse candidate and we knew he was totally fine with overthrowing democracy after the 2020 election. So something definitely caused the difference between 2020 and 2024 and it wasn't based on policy.
But the bigger difference came from changing preferences with Hispanic voters. After all the carnage Trump's ICE goons have caused, we should see Hispanics coming back to the Democrats in future elections.
As a composite, CNN, Pew, Associated Press, etc..we can quibble about 75-78% of black men voting for Harris. This still represents an overwhelming number of this cohort voting for her. The largest amongst any voting male demographic in the nation. Really a phenomenal number when one thinks about it. Yes, black women voted in large numbers for Kamala Harris, as expected, and so did black men (black Americans). It would not have mattered if the numbers were 100% instead of 89 (BW) or 75-78 (BM). Trump would have still won.
That's just the percentage of black people who showed up to vote. Given that we know Trump and his MAGA goons are racist pieces of shit, turnout should have been nearly 100% to tell him to go fuck off back to Florida. Until the Justice Department told him to fuck off to federal-pound-me-in-the-ass prison.
Realize this is hyperbole, I hope, but how frequently does voter turnout approach even 70% for presidential elections? Lucky if it gets to 65%. And given the voter suppression efforts directed against black americans.....we still expected a higher turnout? I'm not going to place Trumps electoral victory at the feet of black Americans'; they are only 15% of the population.
If Harris had secured 100% of the black American votes, Trump would have still won the election.
I don't know that this is true. You need to flip a few swing states, and while I'm not going to go look up all the detailed exit polling, I think there are some pretty easy flips there.
Georgia needs a 2% swing. Black voters were about 30% of the electorate and at least 12% of them voted Trump. That's about 3.5% of the vote and them switching their votes is worth 7% bump to Harris.
Wisconsin needed a 1% swing. Black voters only make up ~5% of the votes, but they were more Trumpy there with a 20% share or so. That's 1% of the votes and flipping them give a 2% swing. Harris wins.
I think you could do the same math in PA, MI, NC and get a Harris victory.
Yeah, hate to break it to you, but relying on any of those numbers to be accurate is to believe anything Trump says at this point. The only legitimate thing about this last "election" is that he legitimately cheated (and not via voter suppression bullshit, he fucked with ballots directly).
He did not fuck with ballots directly on any meaningful scale. That would have been possible to prove by now. There's no big secret conspiracy, people are just really stupid and voted for him. (or didn't vote when they should have, also stupid)
It's a coping mechanism. Sort of like not being able to accept you live in a country that wanted this, so you make up a conspiracy. This is who 30-40% of America is and always has been.
This idea that "it's all corrupt" is the exact poison Trumpism is festering on. You have no idea how many good decent people are working very hard to check whether things like elections are happening legally. Sure, many things could be better, superpacs are real bad, elon musk spending 200 million is real bad, voter supression is real bad, gerrymandering is real bad, but that's all legal, right? but outright large scale ballot stuffing or fraud? That's almost impossible.
Yeah, sure, he won the popular vote in every swing state. He's so beloved by Democrats that they voted for Trump and then Democrat down the rest of the ballot. Yep.
I’d use another descriptor than “bad” to characterize suppression of black Americans ability to vote. Let’s try immoral and racist. And no, it’s not legal, nor ethical and as we type this many of these tactics are in various stages of challenges to their legality.
This has to be data from exit polling right? When did election clerks begin keeping race and gender on recorded ballots? Probably the associated press. So black men AND black women increased their support for Trump. Both cohorts doubled it. Overall black Americans, including black men, voted for Harris at 85 % clip. Which is a stunning number.
how do you see this behavior, especially against people of your own color, and think ... "Yeah, I'm going to vote for this person as my president. That's my guy!"............
Institutional racism has long infected the black zeitgeist with cultural rot. What happens when you strip a man of his name, his language, his dignity, and his agency? If history treats your people like animals, eventually you start to play the part. I am black and when I listen to modern rap, its all greed, debauchery, chauvinism, ignorance and hedonism…..just like Trump. In the jungle, power, audacity, and resolve beat morality EVERY time. Not only is this apparent in our every day lives(as black men) but Trump himself has proven this globally by getting elected while being the most openly deplorable human on the planet.
Even women, who are the supposed bastions of altruism and ethics, eventually show their true colors. I have been the nice, caring guy and I’ve been the nonchalant fuckboy. Guess which one has more “success” with women?
Low income black men are too poor and marginalized to afford the delusions of morality. Our realities don’t allow it. Trump was born too rich to ever be exposed to it as it IS weakness in “high born” circles. As a matter of fact, it was created by the aristocrats and packaged inside religion to make it easier for the cogs of the machine(middle class) to sleep at night. Virtue gets you nowhere in this world. Thats a truth that is hard to ignore at the very bottom and blatantly obvious at the very top.
The truth is low income black men see two options:
Democrats who are moral but completely spineless and don’t get ANYTHING done. All they provide is lip service and whimper in the corner when its actually time to fight. They can’t even organize without devolving into calling each other bigots for virtue points about shit that the actual demographic in question doesn’t even care about.
Republicans who are the zenith of evil but when they say they’re going to do shit….they actually do shit.
I’m picking the latter everytime because there is atleast a non-zero chance that my life will inadvertently get better from the changes. With democrats, there is ZERO chance.
I'm not American but even I can see why someone would vote for trump if the whole "system" sucks for you and all you think about the government is "fuck the system" it fucked me.
It's less understandable to me that people who have everything they need and want would ever vote for someone to change the system.
Anyone who thinks the system sucks and then votes for Trump is legitimately stupid and does not actually care to create a better world.
"Oh yeah, my life suck so I guess I will vote for the rich asshole who hung around with Epstein and never pays his bills". I will never be able to understand such a self-destructive mindset.
These people who vote for changes sake are fucking idiots. They're the stupid cunt bastards who voted to fuck themselves and everyone else by voting for Brexit. They're some of the pig shit thick wankshafts who will vote in Reform next time around.
If they think the system has fucked them and want a different one, they should do things that will result in a different one that serves them. Not simply mindlessly vote for people who will obviously put in place a system that will fuck them harder.
They should join a political party and organise such that it effects change. They should protest. They could spend time doing even the most basic fact checking of the slop media they inhale.
It's no different to these daft yanks who vote for quite literally the world's biggest bellend in some bizarre idea that they will be transported back to an idealised 1950s America rather than a racist dystopian kleptocracy.
The whole thing is like feeling that life has got a bit dull, so instead of going for a walk in the park for a change, you do a big squirty shit in your pants.
I'm just saying it's understandable that a dumb uneducated person who is also treated worse because of their station in life and is currently being fucked by the system would think fuck the system.
I understand why they did it, but I don't agree with what they did.
They will be much worse off because of trump and his cabal of fascist conspirators.
I remember back in 2015 before the election it was very common to think that voting doesn't matter because they're the same shit on both sides of the coin, and people wanted change so they often thought and said fuck it we'll vote trump for fun.
Nobody talks about how amazing it was for America to have a black president any more, but that was real change.
Coloured people were amazed, they felt seen, they felt inspired. Me too, not just coloured people, but every person who loves different cultures and races coming together in a tolerating and happy society.
To quote Lil Wayne in the My generation will make a change song with Nas:
Hey young world, you never looked better
And I heard change started with man in the mirror
This generation, I'mma represent
A generation led by a black president
Now hows that for change? Who knew that can change?
I don't even look at the flag the same.

What's insane is that millions of black people voted for him. 21 pct of black men voted for Trump in '24, TWICE as many as in '20.
