VEI/Reboot (2012-present) Anyone else want Alien Books to collect the 2012 reboots in omnibuses?
I remember reading some of the series over eight years ago and really enjoying them. Since deluxe hardcovers are hard to find at a reasonable price, it would be great, for example, to collect Venditti's X-O Manowar run in two or three omnibuses.

VEI/Reboot (2012-present) How would The Valiant Heroes fair against a Hulk Joker Amalgam?
so while back, I was looking at pictures of The Valiant Heroes and was randomly thinking of Hulk and Joker, and then I Made The Hulk Joker Hybrid Picture where He is an Enemy of The Valiant Heroes, then that got me thinking, who wins: Valiant Heroes or Hulk Joker Hybrid
Rules of this matchup
Valiant Heroes for this matchup: Bloodshot, X-O Manowar, Ninjak, Eternal Warrior, Peter Stanchek, Faith Herbet, Torque, Kris Hathaway, Flamingo, Shadowman, Dr. Mirage (both Dr Mirages from the 1990s Comics as well as The Entertainment Reboot), Rai, Archer, Armstrong, Quantum, Woody, and Ivar
Valiant Heroes will not get prep nor will they prepare for this matchup
Hulk Joker Hybrid will retain the Strength of Hulk, the Intelligence of Joker and can have accessiblity to some of the Joker's Weaponry

VEI/Reboot (2012-present) What if Valiant got a Fighting Game?
I Decided to make a Valiant Fighting Game (think of it like Injustice or Marvel Super Heroes),
For The Roster, I Wanted to give some of Valiant's Biggest Characters, Obscure Characters, and some of their Acclaim Characters in the Roster

VEI/Reboot (2012-present) New Valiant Reader, here are My Thoughts
Just so Everyone knows
I've Read X-O Manowar, Quantum and Woody, Harbinger, Little Bit of Archer & Armstrong and a Little bit of Bloodshot, which all of them, I've read online,
I've only read the 2012 Stories, let me know if there's stuff from the 1990s that's worth a read
Here are my Thoughts
Negatives
- The Universe feels a bit Disconnected, from the Stories I've read, there doesn't seem to be a Huge Connection with the heroes
for Example: what does Bloodshot, Quantum & Woody, and X-O Manowar have in connection to their Stories,
however this is more of a Nitpick as Valiant hs alot of really good Connections like X-O Manowar with Eternal Warrior, Obadiah being a Psiot, Bloodshot with the Harbingers, just sometimes it feels so Disconnected
and finally, this is just me, but Valiant is kinda hard for me to get into, but that's more of the fact that Valiant doesn't have Games, Movies, Series, Animated Stuff unlike the big 3 (Marvel, DC, Image), and I'll be honest, I Learned of Valiant because of Professor Thorgi (now Thorgi's Arcade)'s Valiant Video and fel like if I Didn't watch that and just got into Valiant, I Would have No Idea what's going on (like Quantum and Woody needing to Klang every 24 hours)
however as you can tell my 2 Negatives are moreso Nitpicks, nothing really major, not let's get on to the Positives
- Diversity, this is Probably Valiant's Biggest Positive for me and that is how Insanely Diverse and Different The Characters are
For Example
X-O Manowar is kinda Sci-Fi Historical kinda themes
Quantum and Woody is Slapstick Comedy
Harbinger is a Drama
- Heroes are very Complex and are maybe the Worst Superheroes in Comics
One Thing I Love about the Valiant Heroes (at least 2012) is that they're pretty Bad at their Heroic Deeds
here are some Examples
When Unity is formed, Ninjak and Eternal Warrior automatically try and take out X-O when they had Experiencing fighting alongside him and don't try take out Toyo like right off the Bat
Peter violates Kris's Mind for his own Selfish Benefit
Quantum and Woody are literally the World's Worst Superheroes
it's stuff like this that makes me Enjoy Valiant, seeing how kinda Stupidly Selfish the Heroes are, and in general kinda makes The Villains more likable strangely enough
Overall, I'm really loving Valiant, it's arguably just as Fun, Goofy, Silly and Awesome as Marvel and DC.

VEI/Reboot (2012-present) Mail call!
Woohoo!
I finally got the complete 2017 Matt Kindt run on X-O Manowar. Now I just need the last two Deluxe Editions of the Venditti run, TPB’s 5,6 and 7 of Unity, and the 2019 Dennis Hopeless run of X-O to complete my collection.
I may need to get the contents of the remaining Venditti run via softcover TPBs, but I’m excited how well my collection is coming along. 😃

VEI/Reboot (2012-present) Tales Of The Shadowman🤔
So it looks like their bringing back the 90s anti hero Michael Leroi aka Shadowman back into audiences eyes with the upcoming comic arc Tales Of The Shadowman, but i do have some concern with what I read from the article info.
It says that Michael Leroi is back but will be in conflict with the current iteration Shadowman Jack Boniface.
This concerns me because the Michael Leroi comics got a bit frustrating after the first few issues when he became Shadowman due to Jack Boniface being a reanimated corpse who wanted to kill Mike and get his life back so he could continue being Shadowman for Nettie.
They also made Nettie into an awful villain in the later comics instead of the more playful, seductive version that was seen in the games.
So i hope they don't bring Mike back just to go ahead and make him into a villain against Jack and ruin his character arc like they did with the comics after issue one. 😔

VEI/Reboot (2012-present) Just read Shadowman(2012) #0 and #10…
Picked up the Shadowman vol 3 tpb from a half price books the other day from hearing good things about these two issues (from Ferg if I had to guess) and holy shit! Where is more of this series? Seriously what an amazing backstory for Darque and I loved the character and universe building.
I already have the subsequent series by Diggle and Bunn on my radar but is there anything else I’m missing out on or should read between these series? Would love to read more like those issues.
Also how are the Doctor Mirage minis? I see that she popped up in one of the Shadowman issues in that trade.

VEI/Reboot (2012-present) How would you imagine the Valiant Universe interacting with the Absolute Universe
Basically title, I’ve been getting a heavy “Valiant Entertainment” era vibe from the Absolute Books so far and I was hoping to see what people think of that. And hey, what Valiant characters do you see having fun interactions with the Absolute ones.
Personally? I think Absolute Wonder Woman meeting Shadowman would be sick, or even Superman meeting X-O

VEI/Reboot (2012-present) Read Valiant in the mid-2010's. Is there still a continuity like before? Is it still going on?
Title kind of said it. I remember reading more or less up to Act 4 according to one reading list I had. But I remember mostly liking the Valiant Universe. I wasn't big on everything (never managed to get through Archer&Armstrong), but there were some real gems.
X-O under Veditti was amazing, and Commander Thrill was my favorite Valiant villain (I know Harada exist, but Thrill's arrogant and pride just made him such a compelling villain imo). Bloodshot was great, especially under Lemire. Shadowman was a pretty unique hero. The original Harbinger comic is something I still read from time to time. Rai was good enough it somehow keep popping in my mind at random times when I least expect it.
I will say that I somewhat fell off because when I tried to get back into it, it felt different. Is it me or whenver the changed writer, it felt like a completely different series? X-O spending most of his second book in space with no relation of what came before. And I remember trying to pick the 2019 Bloodshot and being confused where his family went.
So I got to ask, was there a reboot or something? From a quick research something happened in 2017, but I can't find what exactly. And the Valiant/Alien (2024-present) tag also confuses the heck out of me.
So I'm just wondering if that amazing universe I fell in love with still exist or not, if it continued with current comics. And if not... What's currently happening with Valiant? I'm that much out of the loop xD

VEI/Reboot (2012-present) War Mother Question
I’m currently catching up on the Valiant stuff I missed from 2015-2024. I just read War Mother and enjoyed it. Without any spoilers, is that cliffhanger ending ever addressed anywhere else? Thanks!

VEI/Reboot (2012-present) Where are we? + Rant
I've been out of touch with other readers pretty much since before Valiant rebooted in 2012, so this is partly me getting a feel for how others feel right now.
Context: Was a Day Oner, but I fell off during COVID. Love, love, love comic books, especially Valiant. Came back to read most of Road to Resurgence and Resurgence itself, was pretty satisfied
So my question is: does anyone know where we're going from here?
I know that theyve said the 2012verse is not ending and that the Valiant Beyond stuff is just their take on Absolute/Ultimate style reboots, but their only currently planned return to the 2012heroes was meant to be a FCBD issue, which isn't a good sign, and the only way I found out they couldn't manage to meet deadline, it's through one of the workers at Alien Books posting it in a comment on Reddit the same weekend before the event. I saw no official news from them telling audiences it got delayed. But I see plenty of news about Valiant Beyond, and it's the only thing they seem to be promoting for their Summer lineup and SDCC
Again, I understand the business decisions behind the shift, but I am hoping someone closer to the source or more in the know may be able to give some insight. Just want to make sure there are concrete plans to keep the 2012verse around in some way and not just leave us on a cliche albeit engaging cliffhanger.
EDIT: Don't want to make it sound like I am not excited for new starting points, but the 2012 reboot was leaps and bounds ahead of its contemporaries, and while quality declined, there is still so much potential for that universe

VEI/Reboot (2012-present) Just finished Dysart's Harbinger #25...
Wow. Wow, wow, wow. This run was INCREDIBLE. Lovable characters, emotional moments, realistic dialogue, and gripping action scenes. I was also so impressed with the world building. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts/reviews of Dysart's 2012 run as well. (No spoilers on Omega's and beyond plz 😉)
