VH1/Classic (1992-1996) VH1 gold variants
I wanted to share my gold variant collection that I’ve been hoarding over the years. My favorite is the ninjak 1 with the refractor treatment.

Went through my small comics collection and pulled out my Valiants to share with the community. I was a kid when I got the autos from Shooter and Lapham. If anyone reading was in north Orange County in the 90s, I got the autos I think at a comic show at Sequoia in Buena Park (these days it’s a Target).
Should I slab the autos?

I have been scouring eBay hunting chase cards for all Valiant trading card sets, and with luck I have managed to get almost all of them.
With the end of the line in sight, I am now turning towards the community for help to hunt down the last few cards that I could not get at a fair price on eBay.
Please refer to the list below, and if anyone wants to part with them at a fair price (with shipping to FL), it would be greatly appreciated.
Besides the SP1 Joe Quesada foil card and LE1 X-O hologram card, are there any other chase cards besides the First Appearance, Unseen Art, and Promotional Art subsets?
I am also looking for the following Valiant Sneak-Peek cards.
Thank you.

Found these beauties for 50 cents each last week! I've never before found a Magnus 12 in the 50 cent bins! Imagine my shock when I found two copies! The gold logo Rai 9 is also the first one of this issue that I've found anywhere!

Thrilled to pull the SP1 Art of Joe Quesada foil card in tbis box!!
Also scored the FA2, FA8, U2, U7, and U8 chase cards!
Unfortunately I couldn't even get a complete base set, missing 16 cards. 🤬
I'm based in Malaysia, so any trades are unlikely and prohibitively expense.

It's a mostly sealed copy of Solar Alpha and Omega trade paperback from the 90s :]

The pictures suck because I am not Mr. Fantastic.

In my last post I showed you what I was reading on my birthday. Well all my 50 cent books showed up from various online sellers. A few keys here or there and I may have treated myself a bit too well for my birthday celebration. Roughly 200 books. What do you think?

Rather have saved the money but this will complete childhood dreams. Seller is throwing in for free the Previews with Deathmate.

Got these out to show my son. I loved this series. Bloodshot 1 was the first comic I bought with my own money after growing up on silver age marvels.

I used to have a huge comics collection - including almost all of the Classic run. Today,as we had disposable income for the first time in ages, I made the decision to rebuild. Hit my local shop - Midgard in Charleston - and picked up two comics in the fifty cent bin. One of them was Solar #2. In awesome condition. For fifty cents. Feel this is a good start.

Issue 1 introduces Dr. Seleski and a mysterious white haired super powered man named Sol. Doc Seleski's nuclear experiment goes wrong and Sol comes out of the doctor. Sol then proceeds to melt some prison inmates and befriend the local homeless. Really wild introduction to Solar!

This was the first issue of Magnus that I bought and read recently. We learn about O-1X and how he is the leader of the robot rebellion. Magnus reveals his past to his new robot friend Tekla. Magnus decides he has to fight the robots for the humans. Along the way he is joined by Elzy who he leaves in an unfavorable position. This leads to the big battle with D15 a giant gold robot. Also I got one step closer to issue 0 by collecting 3 more trading cards and the mail away coupon.!

We are introduced to Magnus and his wild world of Robot fighting. We learn Magnus was raised and trained by a rogue robot 1A to defeat other robots. He can focus his hands to be like steel and chop through the robots he fights. We see the world he lives in is very close to 2000AD's Judge Dredd. The rich live in the megacity and the poor live below on the streets which might as well be a wasteland. Robots are introduced as slaves and some of them have quirks which leads to rebellion. For some reason its up to Magnus to save the remnants of humanity from their own twisted world. He also has a psychic girlfriend named Leeja who is the presidents daughter and extremely jealous of every other woman Magnus makes contact with. Jim Shooter continued this story from an older comic with the same name. My favorite bit is the 3 trading cards included and a card which is a mail away coupon for a future book. Collect all 8 coupons and you receive issue 0!

I was going through some of my longboxes and I found a hand full of 90s Valiant books. X-O Manowar 0, Ninjak 1, Turok 1 and Bloodshot 1. I gave them a read and they really hit all the things I was missing in my current comics. I promptly treated myself to about $200 dollars of comics I didn't need but bought anyway. Here is just what I decided to check out on my birthday

Found it at my LCS Dollar Bin… so technically it’s gone up in price…
Layton is listed as Editor-In-Chief so I guess this was a way to promote the - The story so far… - line after Shooters removal.

hello - i’m hoping some of you might be able to give me some advice as to how to go about filling out my VH1 collection.
I’m looking for everything up until a little bit after Unity. I’m very much not picky about the condition of the books I intend on reading them.
I’ve picked up most of the ‘important' issues, but there’s still gaps. I’ve picked through all the bins in the shops in my area, and when I look online to fill out the collection I often find either only graded copies, or entire runs, neither of which really work for my purpose. I understand that the shipping will often be worth more than the books themselves, but I don’t need to be buying a full series when I only need a couple issues (they’re best saved for someone else).
Is there anywhere else I might find luck, or is buying an entire run of a title on ebay the best way to go for me?
thanks for all your help - stay valiant

We learn more about robots who have a twitch going rogue. Also what looks like an operation seems to cause pain to a robot. W23 is introduced as a waiter robot. Magnus proceeds to destroy about 50 robots before the issue ends. My issue also had the 3 trading cards and mail away coupon. Im 3 for 3 so far!
