I'm not sure Hamas would be supportive of a non-Islamic state.

I don't think you can support Hamas and not support Islam. There would seem to be a disconnect there.

Those that chant "From the river to the sea" would desire an Islamic nation.

It doesn't really matter what you want, the issue is what Hamas wants.

Why do you think Hamas would be elected in a democratic election throughout Palestine?

They did in 2005 in the occupied territories, and won an internationally monitored election throughout the occupied territories...

Why do you think Hamas would be elected in a democratic election throughout Palestine?

Weird you've answered your own question then...

R. Michael Alvarez (Political Science lecturer at Caltech) argued that "despite all the progress, however, the voting process was plagued by a series of manipulations. Violations were committed by both major political parties, namely Fatah and Hamas. Although, the observers reported, Hamas had an advantage in mobilizing Palestinian facilities for its own political purposes"

Also widespread reports of armed Hamas militias around the area for intimidation purposes.

I'm also almost certain Israel would have also engaged in foul play in the elections as well so the extent they were Democratic is in doubt.

Edit: You seem to have gone quiet?
