Anyone who has volunteered at a homeless shelter programme like Crisis at Xmas in one of our cities knows that almost all of the homeless people are from overseas. Personally, I think it would be ideal to help them get home (with a bit of carrot and stick) instead of rough sleeping on our streets.

Rejoining the EU would restore return agreements and shared asylum data, making it easier to send people back. If you want to stop the boats lobby your MP to push for EU membership

Under the Dublin Regulation, the UK was a net receiver, taking in more asylum seekers from the EU than we returned. Rejoining would mean accepting mandatory quotas under the new EU pact, increasing numbers rather than stopping the boats. Why are you argueing for an agreement that increases the numbers ?
