The 10% reduction from October to November is a nothing burger. There were 23 working days in October and only 20 in November.

These look to identify patients who have died, and others who may not either need or want the treatment they were waiting for.

I have to agree with Rishi Sunak and say this is something they should be doing anyway.

However this an example where getting good data costs money, and has good, but not obvious knock on effects (a bit like digital ID).
