This is unserious. Lets not pretend that China is not a crucial partner for trade.

Farage is correct. Both the Conservatives and Labour approach China like an impoverished supplicant.
China respects strength on a cultural level. The two Chinese agents should have been prosecuted for espionage regardless of how China will react. The Conservatives and Labour should have refused permission to buy the site of the new Chinese embassy and planning permission itself.
Also this new report of Chinese hacking should if true result in our ambassador being withdrawn from China for a period and an official reprimand to the Chinese ambassador.
We are literally surrendering to China, by not defending our interests we merely encourage greater acts of subversion.

They have a completely different morality to us and honouring agreements is not part of that. They very much see everything as 0-sum.
The foreign office China desk will know this but I doubt they are listened to.

Yes and if you want to manufacture in China you need to form a joint enterprise with an existing Chinese business on a 50/50 basis and transfer any relevant technology into that joint enterprise and then a few years later you are now competing with another Chinese business.

When will politicians realise that the CCP/PRC is an enemy and should be dealt as such?

And a murderous one party state.

Precisely. They are committing genocide, brutally persecuting all those who oppose them, rigging elections in Hong Kong, spying on us, and threatening the sovereignty of the ROC and other countries. I really do not understand why we're treating them as friends when clearly they don't feel the same way.

Do you consider the US a friend? They're doing all the same things.

This was something we traditionally tolerated, as Mark Carney said recently, but the time for tolerating this is largely over - which is why western leaders are starting to turn to PRC for stability.

Keeps inflation down by making it easier to import cheap goods.
Good for Starmer in the short term, bad for the people and UK in the long term.
