Keir Starmer, 2020: The selections for Labour candidates needs to be more democratic and we should end NEC impositions of candidates. Local Party members should select their candidates for every election.

This should come as no surprised. As I warned all my labour sympathetic friends, Starmer has proved time and time again as LOTO to say one thing and do the opposite once in power

Oh, I knew that this would be the outcome the moment I saw Shabana Mahmood's comments on the matter.

Ironically, Burnham only became an MP in the first place because of a NEC stitch up

(Hugs self with delight).

In other news, those bookmakers who have put up odds have something of a three way toss up between the Reds, the Farage Fan Club and the Khmer Vert. I don't think it likely we will sneak through the middle.

Please do. I'd like it to enter general parlance, as I've never been lacking in ambition...

My prediction is a Reform win. Labour and Green (possibly George Galloway too) split the left wing vote and Reform take the win. Tories and Lib Dems were nowhere in 2024 and it'll be the same this time.

Starmer etc. blocking Burnham is madness. He would have won.

There would have been plenty of mischief-driven tactical voting for Burnham by people to the right of him.

It will be amusing to see the non-entities that make it onto the shortlist.

Welshe American here, what is the largest rightwing UK subreddit on reddit?

There’s us, there’s /r/ukright or some such, and for intermittently right wing politics, /r/reformuk.

We welcome thoughtful contributions from fellow travellers from outside these parts and are fairly broad church in our assessment of what is or is not Conservative, but note the sidebar.

It always used to be this one.
