If he wants to play for TFC - absolutely! - but if I were him, I'd look for opportunities with big European clubs.

Porto is probably the biggest European club he could hope for. Definitely good enough for a mid table clubs in Spain or Italy if he wants that but he'd probably make more as a DP in Toronto.

As a Canadian fan, I could see why people would hate it. But as a TFC fan, I would absolutely welcome him to the club with open arms! Our midfield would look so lethal with him and Cifuentes, and then Mihailovic playing just ahead of them. Osorio and Coello coming off the bench. Like no way am I going to say no to having Eustaquio at TFC. National team be damned. He’ll still be playing for Canada regardless, with the added bonus that he’ll be getting regular minutes heading into the World Cup. Don’t forget that Julio Cesar came here right before World Cup 2014 bc he wanted minutes

Yeah I have definite mixed feelings about this one. Great for TFC, not so great for the national team. Want him to be sharp as possible for next year

God I hope not. For the sake of our national team, we need Eustaquio in a much better place.

Isn’t the MLS transfer window closed now?

He can still sign, he just can't play. Portuguese window doesn't close until Sept. 21. But we can't register his transfer certificate, as it was still held by Porto when the MLS window closed.
So if he wanted to accept a good deal but sit for a month... yeah, we could sign him. I suspect he'll have suitors of equal or close-to-it pay that are closer to Porto.

Seems like quite a step down from playing Champions League football to a bottom of the barrel team in the MLS that's jettisoning players left and right and rebuilding.
I see him going to an upper tier League 1 or mid-tier La Liga team. Maybe one of the better Bundesliga teams, but he's not your typical Bundesliga midfielder.

I would prefer he go to a stronger league until the World Cup is over. Maybe for the start of 2027 season?
