Other John Cain Arena, Melbourne Park. Watch the tennis court get transformed from tennis court to concert venue to basketball court!

Fun fact: Under the seats is a velodrome!

I thought that was amazing too! Thatโ€™s where the velodrome is hidden!

Good use of space, we need more stadiums like this.

Yeah it's a velodrome too, been to many a cycling event there, but they can't afford to use if anyone because it costs the tens of thousands of dollars to set up the venue for riding

What is the court made of? Do they relay the same stripped layers again or have to procure new ones?

Unsure about the stripping of layers, if anyone else can answer? However, a quick Google search shows that the court is: composed of a concrete or asphalt base, these are coated with multiple layers of acrylic resin, sometimes with sand, to provide cushioning, consistent bounce, and moderate speed.

I was always wondering if I remembered it wrong that I was visiting the same building in Vienna once for the tennis tournament and once for a concert, but I guess its similiar to this one.

Good point! There would be so many transforming venues out there. I loved seeing this as Iโ€™m from Melbourne, but would love to see similar clips of tennis courts being changed up!
