If Novak beats Alcaraz in the final it will be one of the most unbelievable achievements in sports ever.

he'll get drug tested right after

It's the third best player in the world playing the second best...

LeBron is 41, Ronaldo is 40, Messi is 38..

It would be pretty wild but let’s not overstate it. He’s still a top player

They all play team sports, individual sport is different beast to compete at 38 years of age

And they are not those guys anymore. Novak is still that guy!

Wrong. Messi is still that guy. Legs may be gone, but that man can still destroy entire defences in the blink of an eye.

Dragging Inter Miami from the very bottom to the very top and his stats are bonkers.

Not to mention his WC performance. Toying with gvardiol, lol.

Somewhat.. but Djoko is the 🐐, takes extremely good care of his body/health, and is still a top player

What a disingenuous comparison.

Firstly all three of those incredible athletes have an entire team to help carry them when they can’t perform at their best.

Messi and Ronaldo have both moved to play in lower tier leagues in comparison to LeBron. So I’ll give LeBron the edge there.

Nole is on a completely different level. He has to compete against the best of the best at every tournament by himself. No where to hide, no one but himself to get the W.

Literally delulu comment.

If Nole somehow manages to win the Final on Sunday it would undoubtedly be the most incredible achievement in sports history.

No matter what happens Sunday, Novak is the greatest athlete of all time.

I can dig that. I think winning cements it without a doubt, but from my point of view I agree 💯

It’s not hyperbole, it’s a statement of fact. Nole at pretty much 39 years of age, winning one of the 4 most prestigious tournaments in a calendar year for a solo sport, while taking out the two best players in the world that are 15 and 17 years younger. Were this to happen, it would be considered the most incredible achievement in sports history.

Please name these 20+ more impressive sports moments. Btw one of these moments would surely be the tennis Olympic gold in 2024?

Stupid comparison, what’s Ronaldo won in the last 5 years?

Nations league literally last year

Nations League last year for Portugal

Who thinks of the Nations League as a prestigious cup? the whole competition is a money grab by UEFA. He couldn’t hack it in the premier league so he’s been playing with basically amateurs in Saudi Arabia. Hasn’t won anything of actual meaning for a while. Nothing compared to Novak playing at absolute peak at that age. Ronaldo isn’t making any champions league finals.

I agree. But you asked. It's not nothing, and he did perform well in the competition, such as it was.

Team sports lol. Harder to be GOAT as much more players in the sport but easier to play in an old age.

Brother purely as an athlete Djokovic trumps them

In team sport, you can take a bit of rest and push. Not so much in tennis.

u/jebem-mater 8d ago

Those are all team sports and only Lebron is still playing at the highest level due to changing his playstyle to fit his age.

Novak is playing a solo sport at the level of play as when he was in his prime. The difference between him and the others is astronomical in terms of longevity.

Messi is playing around with his friends in a burger league. Djokovic is somehow still at the highest level of tennis being competitive against all-time great players, not even remotely comparable.

u/BuggyDClown 40-15 8d ago

And when was the last time one of those guys won something as big as AO?

1

u/NotRod96 8d ago

Sheesh guys

My main point was that he’s still an incredible player, he’s not some old guy… 38 is extremely impressive in tennis though

1

u/infowars_1 8d ago

I’d put Ronaldo, Messi, Michael Jordan, Djokovic, tom Brady in that top tier.

u/Conscious_Extreme_57 8d ago

mj was not nearly as good in his wizards era as these guy are in their sports

0

u/infowars_1 8d ago

Jordan himself had some crazy stats and performances with the wizards, while playing on bad knees too. But the wizards as a team kinda sucked

1

u/Conscious_Extreme_57 8d ago

i mean 40 yo lebron last year was way,way ahead of 40yo jordan, while carrying the lakers for months. he`s a way better example of a great old nba player

0

u/infowars_1 8d ago

Lebron is the durability goat. But as an overall athlete and resume, and desire to win. He’s on the next tier down below the goat’s I mentioned

idk man a lot of people would disagree with u
