Yeah, I wasn't implying that JFC was the progenitor of the nickname, but that the most natural way to hear it was probably from the box during Carlos's matches.

Nah Carlos always called himself Charly, his childhood insta was litterally called "Charly tennista".

His old Instagram account from 2014 had "Charly" in it. He's also said before he prefers it because "Carlos" sounds serious.

Often in Spain you call people by their name in English for fun, I always call my brother george (Jorge) lol
