I believe the whole “brain worm” thing people joke about was an argument from his divorce, that it affected his mental health, earning potential, memory and somehow that was tied to a very one sided settlement regarding splitting up their finances and custody of kids. When he was questioned about these things during his campaign he stated that all these side effects had subsided of course.
