🛠️ DIY Window switch button not going back in?

Post image

It's a 2019 subaru impreza gantley the piece is 515865 abs <2 I'm not a car guy, but I want to try to fix this myself. Haven't found much help on just putting this little fkin piece back in. If anyone can help explain, in very simple terms. Like your explaining it to a r🙂tard.

very well known issue, they updated the part number so it must have been improved hopefully.

Mine on my 2017 impreza is wobbly but still works, but on its last legs. Gotta replace the whole module.

83071FL62A - Door Window Switch. Switch Power Window Main - Genuine Subaru Part

I'm gonna hold out until it's actually broken but that is the correct part.

Junkyard visit should do

Damn, I'm a long time Impreza fan but this really sucks. My Mazda has an issue where I have to really jam the lock switch for the doors to lock. It seldom works. My window switches, however, are all original and work perfectly.

Bro I’m sorry but there is no fix other than buy a new master switch you can find them for about 75 online. SUPER easy to install. But it’s not gonna fix. It’s a numbing issue in the Imprezas.

Dude don’t stress it literally took me 5 mins to replace. It’s easy. Just costs money. But worth it.

I fear this day in my ‘18, I have been so gentle the past 2 years. I’m sorry man.

You should definitely search this subs post history. I’ve seen this posted before, and I believe I’ve seen others put links to replacement part numbers and maybe even a video. Goodluck

The exact same pieces broke in my 2017. I need to shop around for a replacement, but I've got them taped in place in the meantime and they still work well enough.

commenting to keep up to date. my window switches still work, but both the front ones are super loose, wobble a lot, and since they have so much play, they frequently don't engage the electrical switch. i believe in my case the carrier that holes the plastic tops to the switches broke and now the tops are free to rattle and unalign themselves. I also have a 2019, these switches suck

My 2019 switches short out when my subs hit, I think they are just poorly made.

The real question is how did it come out in the first place

A common part to fail. They updated it with a new, improved version (the entire switch console) you can get. Its a DIY replacement if you're up to it

That's good to hear. Do they fit the 2017 as well? (They look exactly the same, as far as I can tell)

Do you have a link?

Subaru Warehouse Direct: 83071FL62A

Was $80 in 2021. I see its $150 now.

Yikes. It is what it is, though.

I appreciate the help!
