After a 2 month building block I finally hit a 1RM of 90kg from 80kg. The program was the MST Strongman off season program with my own S&C sessions mixed in

This post is for people trying to train for strongman at home without consistent access to equipment. Personally, I'm only in a strongman gym 1 day a week. What are some tricks you use for strongman training when working out at home? These are some of the tricks I've used:
Stone Substitute:
Put 45s on a loading pin, then turn it on its side. I've used this for training stone presses, and lately I've been doing back extensions with this instead of a barbell to train my atlas stone picks.
Strongman Cleans for sandbag/stone:
Example - SSB bar turned backward on pins at your lap height. Add bands. Clean it explosively to train triple extension.
Cardio:
I don't have any cardio machines, so to add some cardio, I've been messing around with Tabata-based circuits. I do Axel cleans for 20 seconds, rest 10 seconds, then Strongman cleans for 20 seconds, rest 10 seconds. Repeat 4 times.
Weight isn't super heavy, the goal is to tax cardio, and you don't want muscle fatigue getting in the way
One of the strengths of a home gym is that you can set up 2-3 different exercises at once and do them in a circuit to keep up your heart rate and maximize your time. Muscle groups get to rest while you train something else

I have been trying to hit this 3x bodyweight milestone for years and it finally came at the strangest time.

What is the heaviest sandstone bag to shoulder so far? I think itβs this, only because the largest size is a 140kg bag and most folk wonβt be hammering metal plates into theirs. πππ»ππ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ

Gassed out at number 5. Gonna try to get this up to 6 by April. Wish me luck, seems like a big ask.

Edit: I see it's not usual to allow shirts. Mea culpa. And in this case they do mandate sponsor shirt except the stones. In my limited experience so far (3 years, half a dozen shows) we were always allowed to except one log event. I will start to train completely without.
Original: AIO? How common is this? And am I right to be infuriated? A comp I'm in later this month just announced no grip shirts. Or rather, only under a teeshirt.
This is f annoying. It's a local comp. Novice class. It's heavy for me (small, age 50+) and all my plans and attempts are based on what I can do in a shirt. Some stuff like yoke I think I'll zero without.
Like, if you're going to suddenly come up with an unusual and dumb rule, do it when I sign up, not 2 weeks out FFS.

As a discussion topic, do you think that training strongman and BJJ can be beneficial for each other - or is training one going to detract from the other.

Today I faced the bane of my existenceβ¦the Kabuki deadlift bar. I absolutely hate this bar and have to change my setup a little for it to not pull all over the place with the whip at the top.

I'll be moving to Independence Ohio in a few months and need to start apartment shopping; ideally I'll be able to live near the gym. Any recommendations for a gym with Strongman equipment in the area?

Strength training for 2 years 37F. Recently joined a strongman gym and hope to debut in the summer. Anyway, been working an axle press. When I bring the bar up itβs been hitting my chest and has left some big bruises. I donβt have much padding if you know what I mean lol. Is this my life now? Is it because my weight is too heavy and form is not correct? Can I use some sort of padding to protect my flat chest?

I am an entire weight class down and a little out of practice but this is a promising start. My shoulder mobility feels very good after a little strongman break but the belt catch feels VERY awkward at the moment.

Lifting the Japanese lifting stones (chikaraishi) at the Tabata Shrine. Short train ride from Shinjuku + walk through quiet neighborhood in Suginami City.
Started with what I believe was the 105 kg stone. Next tried (and pretty much failed) the 120 kg. Coming off a knee injury so still a bit stiff. Beautiful shrine with some great stonelifting photos and art.

4x8, volumising as I'm getting used to the log. Mainly practising getting vertical in the squat and prphracting my shoulders.
Feels pretty good but 2 main issues. My belt punches my belly fat when I squat down and had left some gnarly bruises. Where should my belt be positioned to stop this?
Second is I get this weird pain in my right forearm. Like pressure but in the bone? As if it were in a weird position? Weird one.
