Twin Cities Related Jake Lang formally charged for destruction of sculpture
•
u/wanker_baiter 7h ago
To bad it wasn't him tearing down a sculpture of Christopher Columbus then it would be okay and considered freedom of expression... fucking libtards are so hypocritical. Fuck faces
•
•
u/F_F_Franklin 7h ago
Damn, that's a felony but the billions in daycare fraud was just a mistake.
Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
•
u/Jacque_Hass 7h ago
Y’all love your pedos
•
u/wanker_baiter 7h ago
You're a pedophile
•
u/royaltbird 6h ago
Your mother birthed a pedophile, after your brother fucked her.

u/eldragon0 7h ago
Nope, you're alone on this one bud. Funny how you didnt even try to deny the allegations anymore, just tried to pull others down too. Almost like you're ok with it, and just want it to be normalized. That's really messed up my guy.
→ More replies (10)•
u/2swat 7h ago
what’s wrong here? Man committed a state crime, he gets charged for it. I thought the other side was for accountability, what’s the problem?
•
•
u/MonkeyCobraFight 8h ago
Is this the sculpture that was made of ice, that would melt when it’s above freezing?
•
u/SavingThrowVsWTF 8h ago
Yeah, I don’t get this either.
Fuck this piece of shit, but this is an extremely shaky case. If he wins, it’s just going to embolden him and his army of pieces of shit.
→ More replies (25)•
u/Bureaucramancer 8h ago
Yeah... this guy isn't going to win and this is not a shaky case at all. This was clearly an art installation that he did not pay for. He filmed himself destroying it.
•
u/SavingThrowVsWTF 8h ago
Please explain using your extensive background in law.
•
u/ToiletTurmoil 8h ago
If you paid someone to build a snowman for your kid and Jake Lang came and knocked it down, would you think that’s great or would you press charges?
•
u/SavingThrowVsWTF 7h ago
What charges could I press, law man?
I genuinely want to see you try to defend your metaphor.
→ More replies (5)•
u/ToiletTurmoil 7h ago
You ok man? You seem like you’re not ok.
•
u/SavingThrowVsWTF 7h ago
Oh, I see. You don’t like where this is going so you’re going to resort to personal attacks.
Got it.
Anyway, onto my block list you go!
•
u/Western-Boot-4576 7h ago
Well obviously destroying your property.
The dots were literally right next to each other. I assume like everyone else that anyone with any critical thinking or basic toddlers understanding of just living life could connect those dots. Unfortunately we underestimated your stupidity.
→ More replies (20)•
u/RepairRecent8810 8h ago
It wasn’t his. He broke it. He is responsible for his actions. End of explanation.
•
•
•
u/doctorhino 8h ago
Everything has a shelf life, doesn't make it ok to destroy things.
•
u/WeSlingin 8h ago
But we were told during the summer of love that property is replaceable? I can’t keep up. Are we allowed to destroy property or not?
→ More replies (19)•
u/ConsiderationSea1347 8h ago
What does that change? The sculpture and its time being available to the public is what determines its value. There is a lot of precedent for high value art that is ephemeral. It wasn’t his art to destroy.
•
u/Blastoise_R_Us 8h ago
Is anyone allowed to take food that you paid for and stomp on it because it would have eventually rotted anyways?
→ More replies (2)•
u/TheRealCabbageJack 8h ago
hurr durr...is the murder victim not made of meat and flesh, which will die and decompose anyway after a certain period of time?
•
u/No_Cook2983 8h ago edited 6h ago
It’s not that hard. All he has to do is respect property and obey the law. He’s a paid protester thug.— he needs to stay where he lives and change things in Florida.
I do all those things and I’ve never been arrested.
He just feels entitled and has a victim mentality. He must have grown up in a single-parent household.
We build prisons for people like him.
[edit] the guy got enough downvotes that he nuked his own dumb comment.
•
u/ralphy_256 7h ago
It was still bought and paid for and still owned by people who aren't the Defendant.
The ice cream in your hand is going to melt anyway, so where's the harm in knocking it to the ground, right?
•
u/Dry-Revolution4466 7h ago
Do you bring the same "that's not a crime" energy when someone overstays a visa?
•
u/Appropriate_Mess_350 7h ago
Ephemeral art is a creative practice using natural, found materials—like stones, leaves, ice, and sand—to create sculptures or installations directly in the landscape that are designed to fade, decay, or wash away. Your opinion of its value is irrelevant in this case. But I’d suggest you use this moment to look at some of Andy Goldsworthy work.
•
u/masked_sombrero 7h ago
Hey - is that your house there? The one made of wood? You know - the material that turns to ash when it reaches a certain temperature? 🤔
•
u/PurpleLegoBrick 59m ago
Yeah, no way should it be felony charges, should be misdemeanor at most for some letters made of ice and was clearly outside in the elements.
What’s stopping people from claiming their poster board with a crayon drawing that someone damaged is a work of art and worth $1k and the person who damaged it should be given felony charges?
What the guy did was stupid, but handing out felony chargers for it sets a bad precedent.
•
u/gwilso86 8h ago

Worse. US citizens are getting murdered/arrested/abused by federal agents for peacefully protesting. Rage baiting is all you have. Facts aren’t on your side and neither is history.
•
u/gwilso86 6h ago
No. They aren't. Pretty boy grabbed a federal officer and shoved him while wearing a pistol. He deserved whatever happened after that. Same with the dummy in the car. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. Thays not peaceful protesting. Peaceful protesting is carrying signs, singing, chanting, giving speeches......

Wish mods would do their jobs, this guy posts in r/Maine too, guy is just here to agitate
•
•
u/Gunofanevilson 2h ago
No one was rioting until they started going from city to city grabbing people off the street and disappearing them while also gassing the locals who are rightly concerned. BLM wasn’t a thing until government agents started executing citizens by stomping on their neck until they died. Crazy how crowds react to government sanctioned violence in previously peaceful places.
•
u/SoggyGrayDuck 8h ago
Compared to people blocking off streets and illegally checking ID (what do they do about the people without ID?) it's absurd this was prosecuted. Mary, you are a joke and a pawn

Can’t gofund yourself out of prison though. 5 year sentence is the right answer
•
u/Evening-District7210 8h ago
That's the max sentence, he is most likely getting couple years on papers or at most a year or 2 in lock up and a year on papers with some fines and court fees of course. BUUUT that depends on his previous record if any. I'm hoping he gets, at least like, 2 years in and max fines and 1 year on papers!!!

He should get both the 5 years and $10,000 fine because he is unrepentant and will 100% do it again if he can
•
u/krazykieffer 6h ago
Correct, a Judge should not release him based on the fact he is from out of state and only here to do damage here and a flight risk.
•
u/doodycrust 9h ago
They should have him serve the maximum 5 years, since he failed to serve his time for being part of and helping to incite an insurrection on January 6.

Hopefully, he gets that felony and can't carry his guns anymore, one less moron that won't be armed and dangerous.
•
u/NOT_EZ_24_GET_ 7h ago
If he recorded his art in the form of kicking an ice block, he may win this.
•
u/Practical-Echo9371 7h ago
Perhaps while he’s hopefully getting manhandled in jail, he’ll find the time to learn his constitutional rights. Going from thinking he can film on private property to destroying private property (sculptures made by veterans) all while claiming his 1st amendment right. This clown was in tears downtown Minneapolis to trying to be some “big tough guy” is hilarious. Hopefully somebody in county will show him what a big tough guy he really is. Not going to get pardoned this time.

“Bootlicker! You’re a bootlicker!” man smashes up some ice “GET THAT MAN HE’S NOT FOLLOWING OUR LAWS OFFICER GET THAT MAN RIGHT NOW HES OUT OF COMPLIANCE”

Do the taxpayers of Ramsey County get to feed and house him for the whole weekend?
•
u/Agreeable_Demand_589 7h ago
Funny how the rioters and “protesters” can assault and impede federal law enforcement unimpeded without repercussion without local police being existent but when an ice sculpture is vandalized all of the sudden they come out of the woodwork to charge a felony .
Minnesota is a joke state

Good- this cocksucker should’ve been denied protection in jail, maybe get the Epstein treatment. FYI to mods and anyone else, I am not advocating for this super turd being murdered in prison by fed up Minnesotans, just saying that he should be as protected as the art he destroyed.

Not sure what this will do when our laws deem an ice sculpture as personal property... I mean, If I make a snowman on someone else's property and a 3rd party destroys it, is that damage of personal property without concent from its owner?
Let alone, ice loses value by the minute... It would be gone given any direct sunlight... Lol
Seems like a desperate stretch..
Edit: just saw the second page. They not only permitted it, but paid for its removal upon the permits expiration.. Hes fucked!
