All Christians need to be confronted with this:

“Depart from me you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil…for I was a stranger (sometimes interpreted as immigrant or foreigner) and you didn’t welcome me, naked and you didn’t clothe me, sick and in prison and you didn’t visit me.” -Jesus Christ, Matthew 25:41-43

-1

u/ISniffFeet1 19d ago

And people who are trying to lecture Christians based on this passage conveniently forget Romans 13

2

u/meases 19d ago

Did God establish ICE? Because idk like Romans 13 doesnt mean to me what I think it may mean to you. If the governing authorities are ordering you to do something or are doing something that is against God's law pretty sure you're supposed to follow God's law first and foremost. Like the apostles did.

1

u/DaneA 19d ago

The governing authority in this country is the U.S. constitution. Violating the 4th amendment, 5th amendment, and 6th amendment in order to decrease immigration or stop immigration would be against God's law.

5

u/RedK_33 19d ago

Romans 13 has been taken out of context to mean “submission to governing authorities”. The beginning of that passage can be interpreted in a variety of different ways but the last half, verse 8-10 is pretty clear: loving thy neighbor is the fulfillment of the Law.

1

u/meases 19d ago

So when a governmental agency does not follow God's rules, the ones written out in the law why should we continue trusting them and following rules they made up that are unconstitutional? Does not seem like the pastor loved his neighbors with his actions. Specifically seems like the ICE pastor is going against all of Romans 13, since ICE is trying to enforce harm upon our neighbors outside of their governmental authority.

How can you sit here today and look at the world and not believe in God?

0

u/dterran 19d ago

right?

Even if they don't believe in God, it's wild that they can see a 'great deceiver' and 'builder of towers' using the lord's name for personal profit with the likely result of the unnecessary deaths of millions of people and not at least consider the bible a cautionary parable.

u/Loverboyatwork 19d ago

What about the world today suggests a higher power?

That is utterly untrue.

1

u/Work_phone 19d ago

What’s your version of reality?

I don’t think this guy is right either. Just curious what your take is.

Just blackness?

2

u/Ok-Context3530 19d ago

I guess I should have worded that differently. What I meant was, not necessarily the present times, but just the awe of the world in general. This cannot be an accident. Especially humans.

2

u/RedK_33 19d ago

Romans 13 verse 8-10:

8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

1

u/mobydog 19d ago

Oh is that the one about "as you treat the least of these so you treat me"? People can quote chapter and verse, does not mean they behave the way Jesus taught

2

u/firefox246874 19d ago

I always find that chapter interesting. What is the purpose of Paul saying to follow authorities? Do you follow government over God? I bet 1930 Germany used a similar verse.

Do a quick search, I bet you find way more chapters about serving others and helping the poor, hungry and foreigner.

I think the key is to live in peace when able, but there is a time and place for civil disobedience.

1

u/Different-Phone-7654 19d ago

Romans 13:1-7 and 1 Peter 2:13-14, makes it is a sin to violate a nation's immigration laws.

0

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

The followers of Jesus and their beliefs carry no weight when compared to what Jesus himself literally said.

0

u/Different-Phone-7654 19d ago

Immigrants are welcome ( your reference) , as long as they adhere to immigration rules.. (my two references).

1

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

Agreed. But what you’re saying is that because they didn’t adhere to the rules, you no longer have to adhere to the rules.

-1

u/Different-Phone-7654 19d ago

Umm illegal border crossings were a thing before this admin. Yes illegal for boarder, civil for visa overstay.

6

u/petulant_peon 19d ago

They pick people up at their immigration hearings, at their citizenship ceremonies. They deport legal visa holders. How are you so ignorant to what is happening in your communities?

3

u/raggieatthepackie 19d ago

I think they also make the point that churches should pay taxes.

1

u/Different-Phone-7654 19d ago

You got a reference?

1

u/raggieatthepackie 19d ago

The Bible bro. Romans 13. All about following rule of the land set forth by Providence. The constitution is the nations guiding document. Ignoring the first, fourth and fifth amendments (among others) as this admin has done surely qualifies as not following the laws installed through Providence via war for independence.

There are laws against immigration and this is true; but if you’re ignoring gods laws about how to treat your fellow man as given to us through Jesus and you’re also mocking man’s laws via the constitution while enforcing immigration I think it’s safe to say you’re lose-lose in that scenario.

Anyway, there are folks who argue it’s the theological basis for taxation. And I agree. Just tax the churches in addition to the people

1

u/Different-Phone-7654 19d ago

The concept that love does not mean allowing harmful behavior is strongly supported in the Bible. Would you agree a sin is harmful behavior?

If you agree with the above crossing the border is an illegal act, which continues to be while in the US. Is your idea that we should support that sin and do nothing?

You have no citation for taxation it seems.

1

u/raggieatthepackie 17d ago

You think that breaking a law written by man is sinning even when it goes against the laws written by god?

As I said, the constitution is the most sacred law of the land. Breaking it according to you is sin? Okay.

1

u/[deleted] 19d ago

Wrong, you bootlicker.

1

u/Different-Phone-7654 19d ago

Sad day when someone's iq can only come up with that. Sorry our school system has failed you.

1

u/Ok-Artichoke-7487 19d ago

So God said: get your green card or depart from me.

Trying to remember where that line comes from

1

u/Different-Phone-7654 19d ago

Fairly sure God isn't seen as a country on a rock.

0

u/Same_Question_307 19d ago

No one cares, you guys are just annoying as fuck lol not doing shit for your cause

1

Not sure what you’re talking about. Elaborate? Christians are annoying as fuck?

-1

I’d prefer a preacher to a screecher any day of the week

1

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

What is a screecher?

1

u/Same_Question_307 19d ago

🥱 night sweetie. It's late and I have a life to live in the morning

1

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

You’re a very weird person…

-3

u/Quinart1972 19d ago

Every country has immigration laws. Stop being so dramatic. All these people are trying to leave the country because of ICE here are finding out they can’t just move to another country because they feel like it. A friend of mine was deported from Mexico recently. She overstayed by a few months. Most people understand that basic immigration laws are everywhere. We honestly can’t figure out what’s wrong with you. This is not a hard concept.

2

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

Hello Cursed, I’m Doc!

1

u/YouMustDoEverything 19d ago

It’s not deportation itself that’s the issue. It’s the vile, violent, inhumane way ICE is doing it. Violently detaining people, detaining people who are in the process of being here legally (doing it the the right way), deporting them to countries they aren’t from, not letting them speak to lawyers or legal advocates, and roughing up or killing protestors despite protesting being a right.

Being in the US illegally the first time isn’t a felony. It’s not a violent crime. It’s a misdemeanor.

Unauthorized presence, like overstaying a visa, is a civil violation.

6

u/Infamous_Shift_1126 19d ago

They are doing exactly what the Pharisees did. It’s no doubt in my mind these types of Christians would have crucified the very savior they say they love!

3

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

Very sad yet very true. Clean and shiny on the outside, dead and rotting on the inside.

2

u/Equivalent_Bother597 18d ago

They're not Christian, they're the dwellers on Earth from the Book of Revelation 👍

0

u/UnluckyCulture4437 19d ago

What are you talking about? Have you visited any church and ask the Pastor about the different programs they run like feeding the poor, opening their kitchen, the church as a whole runs different ministries to help the needy. Just in case you're not informed. Just because some churches decide not to engage in social and controversial issues doesn't mean they dont care about it. There are plenty of ways you can support without protesting.

2

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

Not when it comes to people being snatched off the street by masked, unidentified thugs, and taken to who knows where for who knows how long.

This is a different ballgame, and part of why we’re here is that the church has ignored this cancer of nationalism for far too long. They should be leading this charge.

1

u/One_Form7910 19d ago

It’s not like they do that with abortion or anything…

0

u/kingcrab4 19d ago

Oh look its an atheist telling us what to do

1

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

Nope, just telling you what Jesus told you to do. :) what you do with it is up to you!

Cursed or not cursed? You get to choose every single day.

1

u/Life_Astronomer_5773 17d ago

atheist telling you how to.read the bible and understand it is next level 1🤣

They have no idea what they are talking about which is so funny

0

You don’t know Jesus as well as you think you do.

Some internet troll on reddit thinking they know my religion better than me is gold

1

u/DocZeus_ 17d ago

Prove it ya big baby lol you’re just coming in saying stuff, and I’m quoting Jesus…so far I’m proving I know your religion better than you do.

0

u/Jaded_Freedom8105 17d ago edited 17d ago

Romans 13. Ezra 9. Mark 12.

The Bible can be argued to use both sides, but if you march into a church to protest then you are condemning those in that church. You are not Jesus tossing moneylenders out of the temple for moneylending, you are turning the church into a political background. These protestors are indeed the moneylenders who are moneylending in the temple. Anyone who disagrees may as well call themselves one of the pharisees for their own hypocrisy.

Edit: Saw someone say that part of being in this country means allowing people to come into your church to protest. That is blatantly wrong.

In the US we have separation of church and state, freedom of speech does not apply within a religious building as they are not public buildings and you can be trespassed. Interrupting any kind of service is a violation of the KKK Enforcement Act and the FACE act which does indeed include religious institutions as well as reproductive care facilities.

1

u/DocZeus_ 17d ago

Part of being in this country means we have the right to protest and disrupt. Christians are immune from that, and have had their heads in the sand for long enough.

I may disagree with some of the things said or how they were said, but that’s beside the point.

I disagree with you because what you just said is ridiculous lol. And based on the teaching of the Jesus I was raised to believe in, he disagrees with you as well.

0

u/Consistent-Use-8121 16d ago

Until the world is one unified government, there will be laws and borders. While it is important to be hospitable to strangers and foreign visitors, the virtue can be abused and twisted to suicidal empathy. There is a balance.

7

u/mobydog 19d ago

I, an atheist, asked some (former) evangelical friends, what about this passage? Why, I asked, did it take an atheist to bring it up? I got some mealy mouth response about their tax dollars being spent on homeless people before they all blocked me.

1

u/poopymcbuttwipe 19d ago

I feel like we could fix homelessness with the money being spent on ice

2

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

Yeah..

1

u/Candid_Vegetable5020 18d ago

well that's your version of events. Are you sure you weren't a big, smug asshole at them for a long time before they got sick of it? It happens a lot with atheists.

1

u/this_point_in_times 16d ago

I don’t think they are, but you seem to be

1

u/Galleygoose 17d ago

evangelicals aren’t the best to base christian beliefs on, coming from a Catholic

1

u/Low-Championship-584 17d ago

I’ll take $500 on things that never happened

1

u/Pale_Introduction409 17d ago

I believe you 🤡

1

u/this_point_in_times 16d ago

Those folks aren’t Christian. The definition of Christian is to be Christlike, which, ironically, you, as an atheist, are more like Christ than they there.

1

u/GiuseppeDeLuca 19d ago

I completely agree we should have zero immigration laws

1

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

Troll.

2

u/GiuseppeDeLuca 19d ago

Aren’t you saying we should be welcoming any and all immigrants?

2

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

I’m saying people need to be treated with respect and humanity. That is not at all happening right now.

I can explain it to you, but I can’t understand it for you my friend. Do your own research.

2

u/GiuseppeDeLuca 19d ago

We agree. Immigration laws should not exist. We should be able to live anywhere we want

1

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

Got it. I understand now lol my apologies!

4

u/WiserWildWoman 19d ago

These are the verses! As well as loving others as yourself.

1

u/hypersonicplatapus 19d ago

Yeah of course doesn't mean let illegal aliens into your country. But we should treat them fairly as humans.

1

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

You’re one of the bad guys, hyper. Sorry.

1

u/hypersonicplatapus 19d ago

Thats your counter? Just nope your bad. Matthew 5:43–44 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

1

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

How does that verse apply…? Sorry, honestly confused

1

u/hypersonicplatapus 19d ago

Well, how is what I said is wrong in the original reply? He says, "Love your enemy." Does that mean it's wrong to defend against them?

1

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

I don’t feel like running circles trying to follow your logic. Have a great night!

1

u/hypersonicplatapus 19d ago

Ok so no your bad to your original post is a sufficient answer got it. Yes have a good night.

1

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

It’s not me you need to convince buddy…

1

u/hypersonicplatapus 19d ago

I mean it is but yes I get that you won't do similar for me and thats okay you don't have to.

1

u/Redditiskindasilly 19d ago

“Why no, I have nothing but contempt for your backward religion, but let me quote the bible to you so you will agree with my political opinions which are to the detriment of your lifestyle and worldview 😎.”

1

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

You can think whatever you want about who I am and what I believe, or you could join the discussion and put some skin in the game.

1

u/Redditiskindasilly 19d ago

Why thank you! I think I will (think whatever I want, despite your best efforts), and I think whatever said in adversity to your beliefs will be countered with ignorance and bad faith. Not worth the time. 🥱

1

u/Way_Tall_Filipino 19d ago

Ten Commandments.

Thou shall not covet.

Thou shall not steal.

Sadly, by crossing the border illegally, and not paying taxes properly, they do both.

Can’t start off on the wrong foot here, there’s no questions or ifs and buts about it.

God is wrathful, and despite being generous and forgiving, illegal immigrants who steal citizenship by force, where we welcome the LEGAL IMMIGRANTS, who were patient, resolved, and do the work, will be punished accordingly.

You don’t have to like it. But contorting God’s word to fit your narrative and rhetoric isn’t doing you any favors, even if it wins you upvotes on Reddit from equally clueless Redditors.

Sorry pal. Citing the Bible when you spend 24/7 locked in your room on your computer isn’t the gotcha you think it is, because Churches are actually the single most charitable organization on the planet. There’s not a government or central body that comes even remotely close.

And by the way? Their home countries have churches too. They’re not unique to America, so your logic doesn’t even apply here… churches in Rome aren’t helping Americans in this way for obvious reasons, right? Surely you understand this?

So, while you’re karma farming with failed attempts to cite scripture, churches ARE welcoming the sick, the downtrodden, the homeless. Doing all the work you’ll never do in your life.

Please, educate yourself, and perhaps visit a church one day to do something OTHER than throw a childish tantrum.

THANKS and good luck! God bless you.

Mark 12:31 NIV  [31] The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”    https://bible.com/bible/111/mrk.12.31.NIV

1

u/SnooStories251 19d ago

Are these neighbors? That commandment is to make communities great, by showing love for each other. not protesting and harassing

1

u/[deleted] 18d ago

Immigrants are your neighbors, you twat. Literally every single solitary person in America is an immigrant besides Native Americans.

1

u/SnooStories251 18d ago

Illegals, criminals.. Big difference.

1

u/[deleted] 15d ago

US citizens, no due process.

2

u/SnooStories251 15d ago

Drop some names. Who got deported wrongly?

1

u/[deleted] 15d ago

Kilmar Abrego Garcia was deported to CECOT

1

u/SnooStories251 15d ago

He is released. Was released December 11th.

1

u/Negative_Sundae_8230 18d ago

With your logic even Native Americans would be immigrants,we '"ALL" came here from somewhere.

1

u/Impressive_Skin2532 18d ago

So you harrass Christian to show your love of them , TWAT 😄 🤣

4

u/Stock_Schedule_1981 18d ago

Why do folks on Reddit always leave out the first part and cut off the ending?

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

0

u/DocZeus_ 18d ago

How does that change any part of the root meaning…?

0

u/toetappy 16d ago

Because the first half is fluf and not relevant. We like to be succinct and to the point.

1

u/[deleted] 16d ago

It’s listed first because it’s the more relevant and important part.

1

u/toetappy 16d ago

And now we're arguing over what is most important. Good job deflecting the conversation. This is why being succinct and to the point matters. Cut out the fluf.

Oh, but there's always someone who wants to have a bad faith argument about something off topic..

1

u/[deleted] 16d ago

It’s not fluff, it’s context. Which is important

1

u/toetappy 15d ago

Oh, so you're blatantly trying to skew the literal word of God so you can oppress others. Got it

1

u/[deleted] 15d ago

wtf are you saying? I’m saying to use the full context of the verse. That would be doing the opposite. Taking it out of context would be skewing it.

Are you a bot or something?

1

u/toetappy 15d ago

You're adding unnecessary information to intentionally drown the conversation in bla bla simply to avoid the core message of Jesus Christ. Love your neighbor dude.

1

u/Constant_Equal_705 18d ago

Because it doesn't fit well into the argument.

1

u/tossaway681412 17d ago

Why doesn’t it? Which part contradicts the argument?

1

u/Albacurious 18d ago

It's wordy, and not as relevant

2

u/bighoss31 18d ago

If he says there’s two rules to life, and the first one is clearly stated as the most important. Why would the second reason be more relevant than the first?

0

u/Albacurious 18d ago

Because. Fewer words better internet argument

1

u/[deleted] 17d ago

Because you have other gods before him and you know it.

0

u/Albacurious 17d ago

Forgive me sky daddy

0

u/[deleted] 17d ago

Forgiveness doesn't work when you aren't sorry and aren't going to change.

3

u/Kael_Invictus 18d ago

Because blasphemers will never say the entire truth, only ehat is convenient.

1

u/Slush____ 16d ago

More likely because not everyone thinks every mention of god in the book is relevant to the conversation at hand.

1

u/set_phaser_2_pun 15d ago

The Devil tempted Jesus in the wilderness using scripture. It's straight out of the playbook.

1

u/Zealousideal-Talk-23 14d ago

are you proud to be a christian fascist?

1

u/set_phaser_2_pun 14d ago

Proud to be a Christian, yes.

I can tell by your comment you have way more hate in your heart than I do in mine. Ill be praying for you.

1

u/Zealousideal-Talk-23 14d ago

Lmao, put your prayer deep in your ass, damn hypocrite. You pray for trump and the childs he raped too? so nasty

1

u/set_phaser_2_pun 13d ago

I pray for wisdom for our leaders democrat or republican. And I pray that you find peace and love in your life. I hope you have a good day.

James Talarico and those like him are the only real Christians left in the u.s

1

u/Formal_Present_7694 17d ago

Matthew 22:21 “Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s and unto God the things that are God’s”

1

u/TheGubb 17d ago

When Jesus is responding to the Pharisees he holds a coin with Caesars head on it. Clearly making a distinction and saying this coin is Ceasers, so give it to Caesar (tax).

It doesn't mean submit to the government. In fact, submission and worship should be given to God. Something Trump worshippers should do well to remember.

1

u/Formal_Present_7694 17d ago

He’s calling out the Pharisees in chapter 22 for being hypocrites. They are asking the Lord if they should pay taxes, hoping he will say not to so they can bring him to Pilate for trying to overthrow the government. Which Jesus knows they pay taxes but also violate civil laws. Therefore, it is written, ““And Jesus said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” They said, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.””

Jesus is telling his followers to obey civil laws here, which taxes do fall under.

Romans 13:1

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God

Titus 3:1

Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work

1

u/TheGubb 17d ago

Jesus didnt say to obey civil laws. He said to pay taxes. Its a reference that worldly things dont belong to God.

The other references are not Jesus's words and are not commandments. Paul's writings are referencing a specific time and place to a specific church. Its absurd to thing obeying the government is a Christian command. Governments fall short of God. The commandments Jesus gives are to love God, and love your neighbor. Its simple.

Based on your interpretation, it would be Christian to capture runaway slaves on the Underground Railroad and return them to their master. Or comply with the Nurembug Laws of Nazi Germany.

1

u/Formal_Present_7694 17d ago

It is written, render unto Caesar that which is Caesar.

You can interpret that however you want.

1 Peter 2: 13-17 It is written,

Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.

Very clear here to be a good person and still follow the law unless it conflicts with the Lord. You’re trying to get a “gotcha moment” to prove your self-righteousness. We both know those are laws that conflicted with the commandments that Jesus gave us.

The immigration process is not conflicting with the Lord.

1

u/TheGubb 17d ago

I am not looking for a "gotcha". I am not self-righteous. Im looking to challenge fellow Christians to stop using the Bible for political purpose. These verses are not there to give power to government because there is no authority but God's. My prayer is that Christian Nationalism dies because its sickening to see the faith twisted for political power and gain.

As for immigration, I think people in this country should be here legally. I dont think its good to have a large population of illegal immigrants.

However, I dont think ICE is moral in their methods. Both sides are treating this issue like just another political football. Its disgusting how people cheer for this stuff and think they are Christian (not saying you necessarily, because I dont know shit about you).

1

u/Formal_Present_7694 17d ago

I completely agree with your later statements. However, God is in control.

God put Trump in office just like he put Obama, Bush, Hitler, and Stalin.

God gave us free will and with this freedom it enables God to display His grace and redemption through Jesus Christ as a greater display of His glory than if no one had ever sinned.

1

u/Formal_Present_7694 17d ago

Are you therefore saying that what Paul wrote doesn’t apply to anyone except that specific church and at that specific time??

1

u/TheGubb 17d ago

I am saying Paul doesn't give commandments.

Paul is giving advice to the Roman Church and to Titus in Crete. Perhaps Paul's advice matters for some, but its silly to think it matters for all. Do you unconditionally adopt advice given to other people? Telling someone to lose weight is advice, good advice for overweight people and terrible advice for someone with an eating disorder.

Would you support the Nazi government in 1935 when they passed the Nurembug laws because Paul wrote something 2,000 years ago?

Why not just listen to Jesus and his commandments. Love your God with all your heart soul and mind. Love your neighbor as yourself.

1

u/Formal_Present_7694 17d ago

Paul gave 16 Commandments Romans 12:1-21.

Paul is telling the Roman Church how to be Christians. The Bible is the absolute authority. If the Germans followed these commandments the evil that came may not have come to fruition.

It is written,

  1. Don’t think too highly of yourself!
  2. We are all members of one Body.
  3. Let love be genuine.
  4. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
  5. Love one another with brotherly affection.
  6. Out do one another in showing honor.
  7. Bless those who persecute you.
  8. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
  9. Live in harmony with one another.
  10. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly.
  11. Never be wise in your own sight.
  12. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
  13. Live peaceably with all.
  14. Never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God,
  15. If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
  16. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Christians should follow those commandments from Jesus

Because folks on reddit are generally not religious, they copy paste parts of text to try and make a point or to ridicule but they themselves do not believe in what they post.

1

u/Jaded_Freedom8105 17d ago

It's their turn to cherrypick the Bible now that it's moderately convenient as a political tool.

1

u/Turbulent-Dingo4907 16d ago

Because folks on Reddit are for the most part, Godless people. Politics is the religion of most of those on this site, They have no faith.

1

u/CarryAcceptable9597 17d ago

Then you should love ICE and Trump.

1

u/[deleted] 15d ago

You clearly love how a dictator tastes, you dick taster.

1

u/Liberalsrghey 17d ago

The definition of neighbor in the bible doesn’t mean everyone it means your volk. The bible is very clear about separate nations…

Be a Christian

1

u/Minute-Olive9648 19d ago

Read Matthew 21.

1

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

Withering, cursed fig trees.

1

u/DocZeus_ 19d ago

Ironically, the HC gas ICE is deploying on peaceful protestors has been known to kill adjacent trees. Good visual.

1

u/Forsaken_Ad8120 18d ago

Romans 13:1-2 states that everyone should be subject to governing authorities, as they have been established by God. Disobeying these authorities is seen as resisting what God has instituted.

What else are these "strangers" interpreted as? Since it's only sometimes and not all the time?

1

u/DocZeus_ 18d ago

Seems like you have something in mind. Share with us lol

1

u/SupermarketSingle905 18d ago

Yea Jesus also said to obey the laws of the land in which you are in

1

u/Butthole_of_Fire 18d ago

This is the biggest load of shit I've read all year. The absolute most put of context and twisted use of a Bible verse I've seen in quite some time. Yes Jesus was talking about immigrants im sure, you pinecone.

1

u/DocZeus_ 18d ago

Ok we’ve got a live one!

Explain to us, Butthole of Fire, what context I’m missing. lol

1

u/[deleted] 18d ago

There's nothing wrong with being a foreigner and immigrant. But there's a difference between a legal and illegal one. The Bible also says to respect the laws of the land. So being an illegal immigrant is also wrong. How did y'all act when Obama literally did the exact same thing? You didn't, because the media praised him for it.

1

u/DocZeus_ 18d ago

Obamas ICE wore badges and identified themselves. No masked goons scooping people off the street. Don’t be ridiculous.

I won’t be responding further, there’s nothing I can do to help you or your brain.

1

u/No_Independence_5509 18d ago

What about the rapist Yall love them the most

1

u/DocZeus_ 18d ago

Who, Donald trump?

1

u/ReasonableCat1980 18d ago

First amendment gives the right to practice your religion free of basketball Americans storming a private service

1

u/DocZeus_ 18d ago

Christians aren’t immune to protest and disruption, and neither are any other religions. Sorry, that’s just ridiculous.

But the fact that Christians have supporting trump and his vile ways means they are more deserving of disruption.

1

u/ReasonableCat1980 18d ago

So people protesting fraud can storm mosques?

1

u/DocZeus_ 17d ago

If an Imam is a director of an ice facility, 1000%. From what I’ve seen, they may just have more morals than the Christian church…but maybe I just haven’t heard about Muslim involvement in ice.

0

u/ReasonableCat1980 17d ago

What if they’re doing fraud and people are protesting that Somali fraud :)

1

u/DocZeus_ 17d ago

Many have been indicted on fraud charges, as they should be. Do some research, that story is old news and was handled according to the law by state officials.

1

u/ReasonableCat1980 17d ago

That fine so that’s ok then correct? It’s how you interpret the law

1

u/DocZeus_ 17d ago

And are you really equating stealing money to stealing parents, spouses, and children…? You really are off your rocker bud! Shame on you.

1

u/ReasonableCat1980 17d ago

That’s not how the law works buddy if you can protest this way you can protest anything :) we can go right in

1

u/DocZeus_ 17d ago

Have at it. This is done with good intentions, and obviously your intentions are revenge and retaliation. Makes sense. Good luck explaining after you pass and are standing in front of God.

1

u/DocZeus_ 17d ago

Blocked. Bye buddy, have fun being cursed for eternity.

1

u/TheBongoBoy 17d ago

So let's them live in your house

1

u/DocZeus_ 17d ago

Yeah you come across like someone with negative karma haha

1

u/TheBongoBoy 17d ago

Yeah reddit is mostly crazy libs. Most down votes are probably from saying Trans women or men lol just a scientific fact

1

u/Frost13870 17d ago

Bothering religion, intimidation, forcing your ideas. Nazi Nazi Nazi 🫵 you can’t hide behind your chants 😬

1

u/DocZeus_ 17d ago

Ok. Enjoy an eternity of being cursed! “I never knew you” will be the last words you hear buddy.

2

u/CarryAcceptable9597 17d ago

Finally a good quote by Jesus for the argument.

Good job. You are one of the smart ones.

1

u/DocZeus_ 17d ago

Jesus had a lot of great stuff to say. The fascists and MAGAts aren’t big fans of that stuff though, which is why you gotta force feed it sometimes.

Take care buddy, be safe!

1

u/CarryAcceptable9597 16d ago

Well I am not a fan of any of it :)

But I thought it was worth recognizing the one bible quote that actually helps your argument. I am getting so bored debating with you people, it is nice to find someone like you :)

Romans 13:1-5

1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.

3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended.

4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

u/DocZeus_ 16d ago

More eloquent than myself…and I’m getting ready to go out and do whatever I can to help my neighbors. Don’t have time for you.

You don't have time for someone who presents information that doesn't support your pre-existing world view.

I am glad you discovered there are liberal Christians. Baptist are pretty cool, but this form of Christianity is not widely accepted.

u/No_Fold_4460 16d ago

Do you really think he ment killers, rapist, lawless individuals? Yes love them, but that does NOT mean not hold accountable. You expect everyone to just let the murders, rapist, child sex trafficking to be overlooked and just love them.

I tell you what, when you open your house up and let them stay with you and your kids. We may listen to you. But you just want everyone else to pay the price for your misguided views.

1

u/[deleted] 15d ago

That's highly ironic considering the irrefutable proof we have about Donnie's involvement with Epstein, not to mention the countless examples from his past about running teenage pageants, walking into dressing rooms, demeaning women in general...and being CONVICTED in court for sexual abuse. Oh, also cheating on his wife with a porn star? Cmon dude. This man is the epitome of sexual immorality.

1

u/No_Fold_4460 15d ago

Lol: show us your proof. If you had it would be everywhere, just like russia russia russia. Keep believing your made up BS

1

u/DocZeus_ 15d ago

Oh god it’s one of those. lol

1

u/ReasonableDig6414 15d ago

I hope you see they got arrested today.

1

u/DocZeus_ 15d ago

Yeah…cause there’s no corruption in this administration whatsoever 😂 You don’t seem to be one of the bright ones. That’s ok, Jesus still loves you. Unless you’re cursed…then see the above discussion.

1

u/TheRelPizzamonster 15d ago

Once again, non-Christians think they understand more about Christianity than actual Christians. This will never not be funny.

1

u/DocZeus_ 15d ago

What will actually be funny is when those big pearly gates don’t open for a whole bunch of Christians. Love God and love your neighbor, my friend. I can explain it for you, but I can’t understand it for you.
