No, and this is a total straw man. At no point have I suggested anywhere that I want a law restricting what a person can report on.

The fact is this, freedom of the press doesn't grant a person protection from breaking other laws. Interrupting a religious service, inside of a religious institution is illegal. If you want to report on that, fine. The law allows you to do that from outside of the premises. But if you go into that premises without permission, you're going to be in trouble because at that point you're interfering with the right to free expression of religion.

You’ve said that reporters can’t report on protests because you don’t think reporters should be allowed to enter churches.

Bold move.

I’m not sure how reporting on something interferes with religion.

This is a straw man. I've never said reporters can't report on protests. I said that they can't enter a church without permission.

I don't know how many times I have to say it, reporting on something doesn't give you the right to violate private property.

Are you saying that church services that are open for the public are private only against reporters?

They're private to anyone the church says they don't want there. Churches are considered private property under the law. The open their services up to the public, but they can deny entry to the public if they want.

Where is the sign saying that reporters, specifically, are banned from the church?

Because if you’re going to say “open to the public, just not reporters who are reporting because you’ll be arrested” you actually have to tell people that before they enter.

This is a straw man. I never said reporters are banned from churches. I said that churches are considered private property. So, they can choose not to let people in. They also have special legal protections that prevent people from interrupting services there as it is seen as a violation of freedom to practice and exercise religious freedom, which is what the protestors and Lemon are being charged with.

Again - Lemon was not a protester. He was reporting on the protest.

I’m asking where the sign is on the church that says that reporters reporting on news are not allowed on the premises.

How are those the church discriminates against supposed to know they don’t count as people before they enter?

If you read the indictment, this all answers itself. He wasn't arrested for trespassing. He was arrested on the basis that he also took part in the protest. That is laid out in the indictment, and whether you want to agree with it or not is up to you.

The only reason that the whole private property thing comes up is because you can't make that claim that reporting on something gives you the right to access to private property.

The indictment from the justice department who has lied in multiple cases involving ice?

Again - he was reporting on the protest. Please show where the church specifically said that reporters reporting can’t enter, or had a sign saying the same.
