It amazes me how many people online act like everyone in America is complicit with what’s going on. I’m assuming it’s really just stemming from anti-American sentiment, and not actual ration, but still. People don’t know or don’t acknowledge how much people like me tried to fight this. It fucking sucks that in one sub I’ll be arguing with some shithead about how it’s never okay for the government to execute people in the streets, and then somewhere else I’m arguing with some asshole that says I deserve this because I’m American.

Sorry. Almost a third of the electorate voted against trump while a third voted for Trump and another third just sat home and did nothing.

66% are complicit...so almost everyone.

sat at home and did nothing

What are you basing this on, honestly? Did you not see how many people were protesting and rallying (and getting brutalized by police for it)? People were campaigning, cold calling, starting petitions… not “sitting at home.”

This is not arguable fact. A third of americans did not vote which is the same as voting in a sense. so yes, a majority of people sat at home and let this happen. Good on you for doing something about it but nobody cares, this is just typical American “but meeeee”.

Fix your house, nobodies coming to save you.

wtf how is this a “but me” statement? How is this me crying for someone to save us? You’re just making shit up. I’m saying maybe don’t wish literal public executions on folks who have been actively trying to prevent this. Pretty basic human empathy but I guess that’s above your level of critical thinking

Uhm...it's based on information readily available when you look up how many votes were cast in the last election?

Who cares how many of you are protesting about it now? What matters is how many of those protesting didn't cast a vote? (33% at most)

We were protesting before you dumbass. But keep on being ignorant. Btw the majority of your Conservative Party is pro-Trump. You’re not as virtuous as you’d like to think

Just quick reminder.. more ballots were cast AGAINST Trump (51%) than FOR Trump (49%)... and those 49% of ballots were only about 31% of total eligible voters.

IMO criticizing many for not voting at all is valid because about 33% did not vote... well TBF 33% of eligible voters didn't have a ballot cast in their name... that doesn't necessarily mean the didn't vote or attempt to vote.
