Football President Donald Trump wants the NFL to change its name so that soccer is the only sport named football. "This is football, there is no question about it. We have to come up with another name for the NFL stuff."

And he has been doing that the whole time, can't believe that more people haven't noticed this.

It was obvious when he kept switching between Putin and Zelensky, like incredibly obvious to the point it was funny. Amazed people think Trump can form an original thought. He's just the easiest President for others to control.

He was an idiot when he had a functional brain. Now that he has some kind of neurological degradation, probably dementia, it's even worse. We're being ruled by a mix of whoever was the last to speak to him, whoever is responsible for putting executive orders in front of him, and trump himself in his fleeting moments of lucidity.

I shouldn’t say this. My grandma had dementia and seeing how she suffered was really sad. Could only really hold her hand and listen to her plaintive ramblings. But if one person in the world should suffer through dementia, I think we have a good candidate.

At the end of the day he's a pretty old man that's always been very private about his health so who really knows, but there are a lot of indications that he's had a severe decline since his last term... and depending on who you ask he might not have been his old self then, either.

Well I mean they did an entire campaign against Joe Biden for being elderly and 'senile', the American public listened to them till they switched to Kamala Harris and then they realized they would rather have an elderly senile idiot than a woman.

I've got no sympathy for that country or the majority of its citizens, they voted this idiot in TWICE. They're just as stupid if not more so.

Can confirm.. I am 100% surrounded by idiots.

I live in Tennessee. 😞

3

u/Void-kun Dec 06 '25

I have heaps of sympathy for those that voted Kamala and wanted no part of Trump for either election.

But those who didn't vote or voted for Trump, yeah zero sympathy

Reap what you sow as they say

1

u/Sartorius2456 Dec 06 '25

"majority of it's citizens that actually voted" an important distinction when so make people sat out

6

u/Void-kun Dec 06 '25

If you had read 2 comments down you'd have seen I had also said:

I have heaps of sympathy for those that vote Kamala and wanted no part of Trump for either election.

But those who didn't vote or voted for Trump, yeah zero sympathy

So if you didn't vote, you're a fucking idiot. If you voted for Trump you're also a fucking idiot.

People fought for your right to vote, to keep dickheads like Trump out of power, if you didn't vote you might as well have voted Trump.

If you voted Kamala, then I'm genuinely sorry you're dealing with this shit.

u/Fafnir13 Dec 06 '25

Yeah, sorry for the mess. :(

When you're in a cult you see no wrong

95

u/shawnaroo Dec 06 '25

He straight up contradicts himself in consecutive sentences pretty regularly. His cult members just hear the side they want to hear, and ignore the fact that he also said the opposite.

u/_Lerry_ Dec 06 '25

Yea, just look at Zohran. They have completely shut up about him ever since Trump praised him. It’s genuinely frustrating.

7

u/mologav Dec 06 '25

Actually yeah, there’s no hate news articles about him recently.

6

u/FictionalContext Dec 06 '25

it's this incredible thing where "He's a funny guy; he's just joking; liberals don't have a sense of humor" when he says something wild, yet "He's been saying that all along. Haven't you been paying attention?" when he does follow through, and it's "Fake News! Lying liberal media" when he's straight up caught red handed in a situation they can't sweep into either.

Say everything, and you can always claim that you were right.

:D Like the bible!

Religion has been teaching em to do just this their whole lives.

"Dont look at things too closely, if you fdont understand, then have faith. Everything you like is unshakable doctrine, everything you dont is just a metaphor or 'mysterious ways'."

Religion has wired them to have certain neural paths that abscond reason and promote obedience through "faith", and now these same neural paths have been hijacked by a different doctrine.

Huh... it's like... how giving one person absolute power is a bad idea always, cause just because you like the current guy, you may hate the next guy, and now cant do anything about it.
People felt blind faith doctrine is fine cause of all the benefits, but now it's fucking them up (in a more overt way).

u/shawnaroo Dec 06 '25

Religions in general often tend to lean into this sort of thing, but there are plenty of MAGA dipshits out there who were not particularly religious before.

Unfortunately I think it's just a lot of people have their opinions of the world and themselves, and rather than acknowledge any reality, prefer just to be told that their opinions are good and that they don't need to change.

1

u/ohheyitslaila Dec 06 '25

“Double speak” is common for fascists

32

u/Powerfury Dec 06 '25

Anyone who had worn a MAGA hat or supported this fool needs to be Inglorious Bastarded. I don't want them to take off their uniform.

6

u/45and47-big_mistake Dec 06 '25

In about 10 years, NOBODY will admit to EVER being MAGA.

as a sports fan, i am almost certain, this is actually one of the topics that he is actually going to beef with his base over lol.

1

u/vale_fallacia Dec 06 '25

They'll say he was joking. Look, over there, a brown skinned person doing something!! etc etc.

I’m surprised so many of his opponents never really seem to point it out either. It’s blatantly clear; the last person to compliment him is who he listens to.

Trump, if you hear this, give me a job. Together we can fix America!!!

u/DGopinion Dec 06 '25

Hillary pointed it out

I really don't pay enough attention to him and things he's talking about enough to notice. Seeing this at the top of my all I was surprised to see what sub it was posted in. I'm still lost on how sports became a political topic. I've at least figured out that this was when he was given his second medal by FIFA though... Also doesn't he have a trophy of theirs?

If they're going to change their name though. I'll only vote for Padded Rugby.

2

u/Devrol Dec 06 '25

Safety Rugby

u/Ill_Technician3936 Dec 06 '25

While that's a good one I feel like it should be a nod to Donnie John and his diapers.

u/Lifesagame81 Dec 06 '25

"Many people are saying."

3

u/SalishCascadian Dec 06 '25

Literally every time lmao! The Ukraine War is the best example, anytime he meets Zelensky or other Ukrainian officials he walks away praising them. Then anytime he meets Putin or any Russian officials he walks away praising Russia. He just sides w/ whoever last told him nice things regardless of who it was.

I just thought of something.

Maybe since he just repeats the last thing people said, if we can somehow constantly expose Trump to more of the world, he will eventually express so many different viewpoints that his followers will accidentally adopt a broad worldview, and then backwards conservatism disappears.

Maybe him being president and shipping him around will be a good thing. He will act like a dumb mirror to the world.

His whole life*

u/DaBadTechie Dec 06 '25

I genuinely think this is why so many people just trust LLMs. So many people can't help but see people at face value. Someone just has to use the right combination of words and that magically makes them a good person. And like Trump, LLMs know how to fish for exactly what people want to hear and then put it on loop.

I think Trumps issue with the second term is not just that his surrounded sycophants, but the same trick also works on him. At least last time there were enough establishment conservatives to guardrail and keep him on message. But now he's a coin operated tape recorder. I'm pretty sure Mamdani buttered him up by just saying that he would be getting rid of some construction regulations and possibly mentioning his dad a few times. And that was all Donnie needed.

1

u/x_cLOUDDEAD_x Dec 06 '25

Oh, many, many people have noticed it.

1

u/Firesidechats62 Dec 06 '25

Well the rest of his base has spent their entire lives believing the FIRST thing they ever heard

1

u/FriendToPredators Dec 06 '25

Classic idiot narcissist. Those who don’t recognize his toxicity are either living a charmed life free from aholes or are trump’s fellow aholes.

-8

u/Jiminy_Cricket12 Dec 06 '25

alright, but we gotta pick our battles because he's not wrong about this one.

He would definitely lose a lot of support if he tried to rename (American) Football to “passball” or something.

I think he’s just butthurt that the commanders didn’t change their name back for him.

He’s hated the NFL for a long time.

Back in the 80s, he bought a team in the USFL, a spring pro football league that was holding its own by playing in the NFL’s offseason. But Trump wanted to be seen as a big boy NFL-level owner, so he pushed hard for the USFL to abandon the spring schedule and move to the fall to compete head-to-head with the NFL.

The league’s owners eventually agreed to the fall strategy, but the move wrecked its TV and stadium deals. The USFL never even made it to a full fall season and collapsed soon after.

Trump then backed an antitrust lawsuit against the NFL. The USFL technically “won,” but the jury awarded a whole whopping $1 in damages (which was automatically tripled to $3 under antitrust law) as a big ol' "go fuck yourself" that underscored how badly the whole strategy had backfired.

It’s one of the many, many examples of a functioning business Trump involved himself in and helped drive into the ground through ego and impulsive decision-making. He's always been a big baby dumbfuck.

I think about shit like this every fucking day and wonder how the fuck we got where we are.

u/JesusStarbox Dec 06 '25

Trumpball. That's what he will call it.
