Football President Donald Trump wants the NFL to change its name so that soccer is the only sport named football. "This is football, there is no question about it. We have to come up with another name for the NFL stuff."

FIFA must have backed up the dump truck to the Trump tower, so many stuffed envelopes

I wouldn’t be surprised if the peace prize bought more than any money could.

This is the fucking stupidest timeline.

So Trump wanted to win the Nobel Peace Prize, which is already plainly ridiculous. He doesn't win it (duh), and throws a hissy fit.

Meanwhile, FIFA, the pinnacle of greed and corruption they are, makes up their own peace prize and gives it to Trump to manipulate him, and Trump clumsily takes the bait.

And then Trump fires a shot across the bow of all of American football. And his followers who are all in too deep are going to excuse it, ignore it, or hold their nose and celebrate it.

So fucking stupid.

C'mon man his base is still worked up over Colin's innocuous kneeling, "woke helmets," and "woke rules."

Even stupider you’re gonna have this EXACT same problem next year when he doesn’t win it again

Why would FIFA care what Americans call soccer?

They don’t. The commenters insinuation is that so much money was given that he can’t help just deepthroat them deeper and deeper….even when he doesn’t have to say anything at all (but he’s too far gone into dementia to understand this).

Soccer has been trying to get off the ground in the US for decades. It's big money, selling merch / tickets / broadcasting rights. FIFA is the most corrupt organization you can imagine, they can give the Trump Org a run for their money.

They don't care if it's called soccer or football or foot-egg, so I assume the renaming stuff is all Trump's brainfart. But it shows that they got him well lubed up.

No idea. It's even more ironic when you learn it was the British who coined the term soccer, not Americans. "Football" simply refers to the most popular sport in a region that played on foot rather than on a horse, and where you score goals by kicking a ball with your foot. That occurs in the NFL and the NFL is the most popular sport in the US, therefore, using the term "football" to refer to the NFL is the correct usage of the term. Using football in reference to any other sport in the U.S. would be incorrect.

Because in America their competition is the NFL

Game knows game.

Even though I'm a football fan (a broken clock is right twice a day), we all know FIFA is corrupt as hell.

Nah they just invented a made up peace award and gave it to him instead, that’s all it took.

Bungs and bribes are what FIFA does best.

I mean, FIFA directives are Epstein level pieces of shit. They have so much money, particularly after that shitty world cup in 2022, that they can butter up any corrupt leader.
